ugh
say goodbye to Tony Hunt on gamedays for the rest of the year
Greg Lewis will be cut or deactivated, not Hunt. If they go 5 wide they will just use Westbrook.

I'm back bitches!
World. Series.
This is sad on so many levels
[Spads]A Brilliant move! They saw a problem and addressed it.[/Spads]
I actually think they'll shteincan Reed instead. They deactivate Hunt all season my head'll explode.
I know a lot of people, including me, were saying in the game thread to bring him back, but now that he is here, I feel sick.
even though he defines average, you know he'll catch the ball, this offense should be good enough that you just want somebody to not give the ball away on special teams.
reed is clearly the odd man out

So the Sun in your name is for Sunnyside? Gag me with a chainsaw.
its funny to me how reno has become the only guy on the planet that can catch a punt
It's always sunny is Sauderton.
It pains me to say this, but I like this move.

He could have single handedly beat the Packers Sunday. So, there's that.

obviously he's not, but do you trust these dummies to bring in anybody else?
all i'm saying is that you at least know what you have with Reno...mind numbing mediocrity, but at least it's reliable
so could have westbrook

that's why I have the Mahe jersey :puke.
Just noticed when they picked up Mahe, they dumped Reed. GLew should be history, not Reed.
Take a dude who is trying his best to come back from a farged up accident, trying to stick somewhere and work his way back up, and stick him in a position he was never meant to be in, and then when he messes up, you axe him. The only thing people will remember him for is that muffed punt. farging Greg Lewis gets to stick around though.
not a g lew fan but its a no brainer...reed could only return kicks...g lew as weak as he is is still their 4th or 5th wr...you gotta have five there
lets face it reed was worthless
So who returns kickoffs now? No knees?
id assume reno
i'm sure mahe will
Mahe's utter lack of speed is horrifying, but I never really minded him as a returner. It's a shame they had to lose a game for them to realize they needed a returner.

Greg Lewis is the only Eagles WR to catch a TD in the Superbowl, so he has that going for him.

Reno can split out as a WR, Reno is slower than JR Reed at returning kicks
its to my understanding lewis has made the team the last few years because of his (supposedly) effective play on special teams coverage. i dont know if hes good there, but the coaches seem to think he is. which really isnt saying much.
Yeah, the coaches don't know shtein.

He was never a home run threat...but he was safe. And we just learned the value of safe.
So did Bloom turn them down im guessing?
Talking to Bloom would amount to the Eagles admitting they made a mistake. It ain't happening.
According to Reuben Frank they did talk to Bloom.
According to me, Reed was the guy to cut. Lewis is an effective reciever in a pinch..Reed was useless. Besides...you have to punish the goat.

They've admitted to plenty of mistakes (Trotter (first time), Hugh Douglas, etc....)
It's just they don't think they've made many mistakes to admit to.
If you're gonna hate, hate fairly.
how did they admit those were mistakes?
when they brought Trotter back they made him play special teams for the first 7 weeks until they finally put him in the starting lineup...they are smug fargs who don't admit shtein
They brought those players back. After sour departures.
I think cutting Charles Johnson and Torrence Small on the same day was admitting a mistake they made too.
They've admitted plenty.

Those two wanted big paydays, that they hadn't earned. They went out, suffered, and came back humbled. I think the FO has admitted mistakes in the past, but Trott and Hugh are bad examples.
im glad they brought him in but now watch him fumble in this upcoming game.
also i agree with igy and the rest...there has to got to be somewhere out there who is fast and can catch punts. i mean did they even look beyond?
anyway if reno ever does return a punt or kick off for a TD im going to bust a nut all over my tv.

Reed > Mahe on KR
Bloom > Mahe on PR
I hate this move.
Vai Sikahema sucks as a journalist. Maybe they can lure him out of retirement?
I hate this move too. Just when we thought Reno was finally outta here after being given an NFL pension for life by Andy Reid, they bring him back.
Disgusting.
I just hope they don't cut Reed for this....Reed looked damn good on KR's last week, and that was with zesty blocking. He hit a couple lanes that were barely there.
Reed's gone, Munson. They cut him already.
Reed runs with an incredible intensity. It's not all about speed with him.

this is eskin now so go easy - he said bloom had a history of nagging injuries and whining about them and was not popular in the locker room (didn't hear if that was at Boulder or with the birds).
first things first, let's just catch the fricken ball or better yet know when to get the farg away from the ball.

ugh, this is like masterbaiting and choking myself at the same time. Reno freaking Mahe. wtf.
we better get a pure KR/PR next year.
So, now they have only 7 DB's for the game on Monday night, but they do have Scott Young and Pat McCoy. Super fantastic happy fun time!

Oops. When I said cut Reed, I thought we had 4 safeties plus Reed. Schneiky.
i'm thinking of quitting the eagles soon.
The move to get Reno is fine, i understand and accept we need a guy who has the abilty to play the position. I do not understand why the cut Reed, who is the KR? Its pretty pathetic that Greggie was the best but that was out of only 2 returns, and i do not trust him to hold onto the ball if he gets drilled. Reno wasnt horrible, but again, he goes down with the first hit, and ranked 58th last year. I just do not understand how the Front Office goes into a season with no plans at such critical positions

I was thinking about this the other day. Imagine if we cut 2 lineman and added two good STs players, like a Jason Short (minus the 15 yarders) + an Ike Reese (not a 2nd round pick on a McCoy type) / JR Reed 1.0 / Mikell type of players. Maybe throw a real teams coach in there.
Imagine what that game would have been like w/o Monte and another dud on teams + 2 players that can play + a return guy.
But here I go again, fantasies of having <20 lineman on a team.
I thought Reagor looked OK. Maybe he did, maybe not...I was too mant beers deep to make a great analysis...
Point is though, we shouldnt need to cut a D-Lineman to have a decent K/PR. Especially when the pathetic line of returners over the past few years has looked like Reed, Mahe, Bloom, Johnson, Reed, Mahe.
I'm actually rooting for Mahe to fail so they bring Bloom back.
Reagor had a sack. He's untouchable.
we all know a DeSean Jackson will be sitting there when the birds are up in next years draft but they'll pick ole "two first names" the infamous "project" at OT from Bumfarg State. Even if the birds scored a player of Jackson's caliber he'd be on the bench anyway.

Of the two guys whose fumbled punts cost them the Packers game, one had never returned one before and the other wasn't in camp during the preseason. No, I'm not going to mention their names, poor devils. I call this a coaching screw-up.
I meant more like get rid of Scott Young and have that replacement replace Monte on special teams. But like DonHo said, we'll probably draft a project OT and a downhill lb and de while we're at it.

Anyone catch Reno's take (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3017964) on the Patriots scandal?
Quote"I think they should forfeit, man," said punt returner Reno Mahe, smiling. "We won the Super Bowl. I think we should get it. I'm going to go trade my NFC championship ring for a Super Bowl ring."
What a jokester.
Can we launch him out of a cannon yet?
he almost makes you root for him to drop five punts on monday
maybe this time around he'll realize hes not Danny Zuco with cleats, and he'll run straight up field
I love the internet.
he was joking. Lighten up, Francis.
QuoteAnd Reno from Utah writes, "I played football for the Philadelphia Eagles for five years and I've been out of the game for one and a half years now. A friend and former teammate of mine is in the exact same situation as I am. We're starting a new business and we're trying to make sure we take the right steps. We've been both hit hard in the financial area, but not by being the typical NFL player. We aren't the bling type. But we weren't smart in our investments. I'm looking at foreclosure now and filing for bankruptcy. I just started reading your book and I already feel like I can get through this. I know it will take hard work, but I love to work hard and provide for my wife and kids. I'll do anything that's honest to provide for them. Thanks for your book. It'll be my playbook for the next game I'm about to take over."

I have no clue if this is true, but I found it on the EMB.
nm
I hope that is not true...sucky player or not...that would be sad because he worked pretty hard (at football and outside of it).
I wouldn't be worried. It's probably just some other Reno who played on the Eagles for five years and lives in Utah.
jesus christ you almost gave me a heart attack thinking they signed Reno Mahe back. just delete this awful thread
thats the reno mahe take 3 thread dummy
i hold no ill feelings towards the guy. he was a decent player.....just not that athletically gifted by nfl standards. whatever his business venture is, hopefully it works out well for him.
Kinda hard to get worked up over the 4th RB, but it wouldn't be Philly if people didn't.
i agree, i really thought that they resigned him and wanted to kill something. Hey, a hosting job at chickies and petes is always available.

The charge of theft, a second-degree felony, was filed in 3rd District Court under the 31-year-old's full name —Sateki Reno Mahe — last week, but the man was booked into jail briefly Thursday and released pending an upcoming court appearance.
The charges allege that Mahe and four others, including fellow former BYU football player Tevita Ofahengaue, 37, stole more than $15,000 in gasoline between August and October of 2010 from a construction company.
Mahe's friend, Mark Evers, 31, was working for A-Core Concrete Cutting at the time and was filling his own vehicle and those of his friends using a company gas code, according to the charges.
An audit showed that more than $55,000 was stolen between June 2006 and October 2010. The charges state that surveillance video from the August to October 2010 timeframe showed Mahe, Evers, Ofahengaue as well as Fred Prescott, 35, and Michael Andrus, 35, filling "their personal vehicles with gas after business hours using the code."

Reno, Reno, Reno. So much for your good will mission to Samoa last month.
His penalty should be a front row seat to "The Book of Mormon".
that sounds more like a prize than a penalty...it's supposed to be very good
This shouldn't surprise anybody. Anyone who gets kicked out of BYU for having premarital sex you know is going to be trouble. It's a gateway activity.

From what I've heard, they like it as well.
