Title: Top 500 in the NFL
Post by: Wingspan on August 29, 2007, 05:07:40 PM
As per Peter King

Top 500 list (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/peter_king/08/28/1to100/)

Eagles on the list
Quote50.   Shawn Andrews G, Eagles   Best run-blocking year of any guard in '06
55.   Brian Dawkins FS, Eagles   Would be higher if he were younger than 33
72.   Donovan McNabb QB, Eagles   Vital season; must prove he's not too brittle
96.   Brian Westbrook RB, Eagles   Stellar six yards per touch in '06
172.   Lito Sheppard CB, Eagles   Would be much higher if he stayed healthy
174.   L.J. Smith TE, Eagles   Staple of Philly's passing game
217.   Sheldon Brown CB, Eagles   All-Pro caliber in '05, mediocre in '06
241.   Trent Cole DE, Eagles   Whoda thunk he'd be better than Kearse?
268.   Jamaal Jackson C, Eagles   Most athletic snapper in NFC
275.   Reggie Brown WR, Eagles   17.7 yards per catch, eight TDs in '06
314.   Jon Runyan T, Eagles
377.   Jevon Kearse DE, Eagles
402.   Kevin Curtis WR, Eagles
417.   Juqua Thomas DE, Eagles
472.   Mike Patterson DT, Eagles
476.   Kevin Kolb QB, Eagles

Westbrook should be MUCH higher on that list. Should be highest ranked eagle.

agreed on Westbrook, behind Jackson, he's the best back in the NFC

but in general, how do you make a list ranking 500 nfl players and include rookies?  they haven't even played yet.

Peter King at it again... what a weirdo.

There are 49 players in the NFL better than anyone and everyone on the Eagles.  Nice.

I imagine Peter King going on a crazy coffee binge before sitting down with his laptop and writing up this kind of shtein in 20 minutes. Then he wakes up the next morning with his enormous head pounding from withdrawal, feels momentary shame at having sent out this half-assed garbage during his caffeine haze, then it's back to the coffee machine...

I don't give a farg about Peter King, his stupid field hockey playing slut daughters, or his career.

But I agree.  With apologies to Dawkins, Westbrook is the Eagles' man.

How the hell does Kevin Kolb make the list when he hasn't even had an official snap yet?  Better yet, how is he listed ahead of the likes of DeShaun Foster, Joe Horn and Amani Toomer?

Toomer holds like every meaningful recieving record for the Giants.

Which is kind of why I was wondering how Kolb is listed higher than him.
