maybe i'll try to get out that way for Eagles/Bears weekend.  Worst case scenario, I can tailgate again.

Post by: Rome on July 26, 2007, 07:51:23 PM
I haven't gotten mine yet which is weird because I usually get them before anyone in the Philly area.  I had them for a few days last year before most of the STH's on the EMB had theirs.

anyone notice in the merchandise catalog that came with the tix they charge FIVE dollars extra for XXL...farging rape and pillage...since when is XX some kind of abnormal size?

Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: Rome on July 26, 2007, 08:36:21 PM
XXL has always cost extra.  Hell, even Target charges an extra couple of bucks for the larger sized clothes.
Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: ice grillin you on July 26, 2007, 08:41:26 PM
its not extra if you buy one of those shirts in a retail store like a modells...and ive never seen a catalog charge 5 bucks extra for it...usually its the crazy sizes like 4x or something that charge extra

theres some shirts in there that are 17 bucks for xl and 22 bucks for xxl....wtf?

nfl shop does it im sure as they run all the individual team merchandise

i dont see anywhere on mlb.com that they charge extra
Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived

btw while looking at mlb.com i went to the phils page and found this pretty good deal

hoodie/t-shirt combo pack

The hoodie says this:  50% cotton / 50% polyester steel grey

Pass.  I hate poly/cotton blends.

Cotton/polyester blend.  That means 50% of the material is cotton and 50% is polyester.  It's not particle physics, dook.

um...it costs more to make a tent-sized garment...of course they charge more
Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: ice grillin you on July 27, 2007, 06:33:41 AM
it costs them more or everyone?

cause i dont see a whole lot of other people doing it...including the same exact items in a retail store
Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: Diomedes on July 27, 2007, 06:43:33 AM
well I'm no goddamn textile expert, but I think more fabric means higher cost to produce the garment

Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: Seabiscuit36 on July 27, 2007, 06:50:31 AM
I was purchasing dress shirts and found that anything Size 16 and under were about $35.  But for a Size 17 i had to fork over $42bucks, time to lose weight.
Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: ice grillin you on July 27, 2007, 08:03:19 AM
dress shirts are different im talking about a t-shirt...i can go into any modells and get a large and an xxl for the same price or to mlb.com...but if i go to nfl.com its 5 bucks more

yes of course ive seen larger sizes cost more but never in my life five bucks more...and as i said usually the extra charge is for super sizing something to like a triple or 4x

even polos dont cost more for a xxl...but the nfl is charging five bucks more on a 17 dollar t shirt??
Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: ice grillin you on July 27, 2007, 08:06:05 AM
update:  i just went to nfl.com and they dont charge extra either....so is this a philadelphia eagle charge?...i was under the impression that the nfl handled all merchandise sales

I have to buy XXLT because of my damned height (6'4" but short legs, long torso).  Unless I can hit a good sale, I get screwed every darn time.

Then shouldn't my wife's size small cost less than an XL?  Why the delineation there?

Junior and i must have dropped $250 at Modell's at the Gallery when we were there in April.  Dawkins jersey, Carlton Uniform t-shirt, Phillies hood, Iguodala jersey, etc.  I was like a kid in a candy store.  Great deals.  I won't mention how much we dropped at the Majestic Clubhouse Store at Citizens Bank Park.  Ouch.

The shirt I got at the Cowboys game last year was the best.  The one I got at the Reggie White night - not so much.

In fact if we ever play Seattle again at home I'm not coming up for the game.  The last two times I went they got shut out.

Anyone get SRO tickets? Personally I'd rather watch the game at home than stand on the friggen ramp but to each their own.

Same here.  I'd just as soon tailgate before the game and then head to a bar to watch it.

This. Actually, this is exactly what I did at Penn State.

Yes, for any of the less interesting games, that's the way to go.  Sell your ticket, use the proceeds to buy lots of cheap booze, get faced, then use your own money to get puke-out-loud drunk downtown.

I never bought tickets after my freshman year. I grew up obsessed with penn state football, but once beer and I got fully acquainted I knew where my true passions lied.

Usually I'd say you were giving up on easy profits, but knowing that you ended your college career in the Zack Mills era, you made a solid move.

Not buying tickets in 1999 was pretty dumb, though.

1999 was the last football season I was around for. The Sports Center/Cafe and my couch got plenty of Lavar Arrington / Courtney Brown time, don't you worry about it.

SRO tickets still readily available (http://www.ticketmaster.com/Philadelphia-Eagles-tickets/artist/805999?list_view=1&tm_link=Artist_SwitchTo_List)
By comparison if these were seats they'd have sold out within 10 minutes. Still don't understand why the city won't let the Eagles expand their seating capacity.

wow, yeah they're horrible seats unless you get in there an hour before the game and then don't get a beer or piss the entire game. but in years past they would still sell out within minutes too.
Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: Sgt PSN on August 12, 2010, 06:17:43 PM
Probably because people now realize how stupid it is to spend $55 and have to show up an hour early and not be able to drink or piss for the duration of the game.

couple guys i sit with stand during games where the sun is beating us down...standing is awful down on the concourse but if you move up the ramps near the 200 level its not bad

lol...eagles raised ticket prices
Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: BigEd76 on January 31, 2013, 05:11:53 PM
Lower level sideline is jumping from $95 to $105
Upper level endzone is jumping from $85 to $95
General upper level is jumping from $70 to $75

But hey, on average it's "still the least expensive in the NFC East and in the middle third of the NFL"

The release also said they're making improvements to the Linc and its gameday experience over the next 2 years (and not just more wind turbines)
Title: Re: Season tickets have arrived
Post by: SD on January 31, 2013, 05:39:18 PM
Removing the wind turbines would be a monster improvement. Thought those things were supposed to save money on electrical costs...if that was truely the case ticket prices should be staying the same.

Improve game day experience by putting a better team on the field.

It should bother every person that attends games. They're an embarrassment and serve absolutely zero purpose except for 'show'. Lurie has essentially transformed the rugged-Kelly Green wearing-fishtown drunkard into a whiney-midnight green blah-tree hugging-corporate douche.

I was fed up with the "Go Green" crap I had to get shoveled into my mouth every game, but then they go and take it to the next level. The fans need to take their team back.

Yeah it is pretty amusing how fired up SD gets over the turbines.

I imagine him sitting at the game and not being able to take his eyes off of them. Watch at a play...angrily glace up towards the turbines...watch a play...glance....then by the end of the fourth he's ice grillin' them harder than anything.
