Imagine you are the GM of the Flyers, or your favorite hockey team. You have 1st pick in the draft, and both Staal and Johnson are available. But the thing is, you know how they will perform because of the crystal ball you won as a prize in a Genie For Life lottery game brought to you by the Illinois Lottery.
This is what you know, for a fact, beyond doubt on draft day:
Jordon Staal. You know he will play in exactly 81 games next season, and will score 29 goals, 13 assists, and will be +16. And he's 18.
Eric Johnson. You know he will fore go the NHL for another year in college. But you also know that most scouts project him to be a game changer in his position, ala Pronger and Blake. But if you select him, you are building for the future since he won't play for you this season.
Who do you select, and why?
My crystal ball tells me that this thread will die a boring death.
the could be the most bizarre post ive seen on this board...the only explanantion is that it was made in a drunken stupor
TV Ratings :crazy
Johnson, Staal is good, but Johnson is a very good Dman. Sure he hasnt played yet in the NHL but he projects as a true #1 dman and they are hard to come by. I'd definitely go with EJ.
staal sounds like a hockey name, whereas eric johnson sounds like a baseball name. i'd go with staal.
I don't remember posting this message, and that makes me even more impressed with the lack of typos and mistakes.
I think EJ would be the right pick. "Experts" claim he is the rare game changing defenseman, that can make a good team a great team. Staal, while a very good shooter, seems as if the benefit of playing with other great players makes him look better than he really is. His production went up in the pros from college, which is strange. And for someone who is as good a puck handler as stated, should have more assists than 13.
trade for bob probert
great hockey fight

Demon, saw Johnson had his first goal in his first game. He looks good so far. How does Eric Perron look?
