some good info, if you shop in hell.
Never really cared for Circuit City that much. I like Best Buy better...
They both suck. I hate going to those places.
He doesn't say much about what a hassle the rebates are. I bought a $400 item a couple years ago with an advertised $75 dollar rebate. In fact, it was three rebates totalling $75. What a pain in the ass it was to figure out which one needed the UPC original, which rebate receipt to send where, what the deadlines were, etc. And of course, the rebate check ain't exactly in a hurry to my mailbox.
If they want to have three rebates totalling $75, fine. But make it clear that you're looking at three rebates, which means three packets to gather and mail, three sets of photocopies of different documents, etc.
bastiches.

The prices at both places suck ass but Best Buy has pretty much anything you could want, which is awesome.
CC is a joke now.
I think a lot of mass market retailers recognize that their days are numbered so they're sticking it to customers whenever and wherever they can.
The only time I even bother shopping at those places is when I can't find the same thing on the internet and that's a pretty rare occasion. The last big-ticket item I bought was the television and that was what 6 months ago?
Screw them.
yea i buy small stuff from circuit city, like cd's. other than that they are over priced. no best buys in lancaster that i know of. teh intranets is the place to buy plain and simple.

My g/f bought the computer I'm using now from CC with the understanding she'd get $200 worth of mail in rebates. After finding and cutting all the UPCs and mailing them in she got one check for $60 (there were supposed to be 4). After contacting them they told her she sent them in too late (which was total bullshtein since we sent them in the day after she bought the computer), she told them the date she mailed them and even lied (my idea) by telling them she had purchased a proof of mailing. They eventually sent the other 3 one of which we received last week - approximately 5-6 months after purchase of the computer and mail in rebates. In conclusion: Don't do mail in rebates, they're bullshtein. Lesson learned: Don't let a women shop for electronics such as TVs, computers etc.
don't let a woman do anything for you. it's not worth the trouble.
