Title: Tattoo designs and shtein
Post by: rjs246 on June 08, 2007, 09:12:04 AM
So I've got a tattoo on the back of my shoulder and have been itching to get another for a very long time. The problem is that I don't just want to throw any old thing on my body and I haven't found anything that I really like.

I've been half-assedly looking for designs/ideas for something (back/arm/leg, basically any place that I can keep out of site of bosses and potential employers) and in true half-assed form, I figured I'd ask you iceholes if any of you have seen any good tattoo design sites or have any sort of talent in the area.

Aw jesus who am I kidding, none of you have any talent. Just post some pictures of cool ink, jerks.

i'd pick up some tattoo magazines and check them out. also look up local tattoo places. all you have to do is go into a shop and ask to see their portfolio. i want to get a half-sleeve of an octopus. like a crazy half metallic octopus. will i ever get it? who knows...they are not cheap.

also i read in a tattoo magazine that they now have removable ink. so if at some point you wanted to remove it, you wouldn't have to go through an expensive surgery. i also read that alot of people in the business don't like it because it "takes away" from what tattooing is all about. whatever...

I'm shocked into speechlessness. I sort of want to close the thread now and pretend it never happened.

think all you want, it's gonna look like shtein when you're old.  so is the rest of you btw.  my first tat I thought was the deepest most meaningful shtein ever.  I was 20.  used a lousy artist, and there it is.  as much a part of me as my foot.  farg it, it's me.  second one I got in belgrade..simple flash off the pc, no meaning at all.  third and largest spans from just above my elbow to top of my shoulder, say MOM on a ribbone over a heart with some birds.

all three are stupid as shtein and will look bad evenutally.  like I care.  I've promised the whole arm to the guy who did the mom tattoo and when that's full up, I'm moving on to other open pastures.

Its stories like this that kept me from getting my sleeve 5-6 years ago. I had a good artist lined up and a cool design (my Grandfathers race car and some other meaningful shtein) but in the end I knew too many people who regretted them. I had one done 14 years ago and that'll probably be it.

Don't get me wrong...I love tattoos.  I'm gonna have lots more ink before I die (unless I happen to die soon, of course).  But let's not kid ourselves...they look zesty when you're old, just like the rest of you when you're old.

I like getting them.  I like looking at them myself.  That's why I do it.  farg everyone else.

I'm am one of the few who can't give two shteins about tats. Everyone wants to stand out or have some meaningful shtein put on their body. WHO THE FARG CARES ABOUT WHAT'S SPECIAL TO YOU. Like I'm supposed to think you're farging cool or something.

"Oh yeah, that's pretty dope...farg, you're creative". "You're a real farging rebel".

Tatoo advocate 1: "Shut up Bionic, my mom/dad/wife/kid/dog died and they mean alot to me. You wouldn't understand"

hbionic: Yeah, I'm just going to rely on old pictures and this thing called 'my memory' to remember people and things important to me.

Tatoo advocate 1: "But what if you get Alzheimers Bionic, what then?"

hbionic: "I'm not gonna know who the farg that person tatooed on my stomach is anyways, so who the farg cares".

Tatoo advocate 2: "Eat it Bionic, you didn't serve in the armed forces like I did...we were a team, a close knit group, brothers in arms, a family"

hbionic: "Yeah, I can buy that semper fi sticker at the 7-11 if I wanted to stare at it all night"

Tatoo advocate 3: "Yeah, but you're not an asian gangster bionic"

hbionic: "Neither are farging you, so take that Dragon off"

hbionic: "Hey, how is the recovery from your third degree burns going?

Tatoo advocte 4: "I've never suffered any burns"

hbionic: "Exactly, so stop acting like you did Mr. full body art. You're gonna look stupid if you get old, but based on your life decisions so far, I wouldn't count on it."

Tatoo advocate: "hey bionic, lay off, I was drunk and I thought it was a good idea at the time...like that fat chick"

hbionic: "Winner"

THE TATS ARE ON YOUR BODIES, INKING ALL YOUR NECKZ.

I love getting tattoos, I really don't care what other people think about it.  I agree 100% with what Dio said.  I only have two that I regret and that was my first and second.  My first tattoo was my name in Japanese in my upper middle back.  It shouldn't be too difficult to cover up if I get a back piece.  My second was a tribal design on my upper left arm, it is pretty big so I guess I am stuck with it.  Oh well.

My advice if you are getting a tat is make sure that it has some meaning, and research the artist that is performing the work.

I've seen that before, Demon.  May have even been posted here.  Akers' arms look like a child drew them.  And who the farg gets a tattoo of a freaking kicker anyway?  Dio, is that your back?

Despite my love for the Eagles I hate just about everything about that tattoo.  The 99's look retarded and don't even fit in with the overall scheme.  McNabb's left foot is missing and the Linc looks disporportioned, although that just might be the effect of dude's back fat.

10 Star Wars tattoos you have to see to believe. (http://www.theforceintheflesh.com/topten/index.php)  1 NSF tattoo of Princess Leia, another possibly NSF of a storm trooper having his anal way with Captain Kirk.  that is incredibly accurate.

SD submitted his light saber penis tat, but so did three thousand other douchebags, so he didn't make the cut.

My boy has the city skyline on his back with the four team logos. It looks pretty decent. I'll see if he can send me a pic and I'll post it.

Truer words have never been spoken. Very rarely do I see a tat that I think is legit unless I'm looking in the mirror.

Meh... no tattoos on me.  The thought of voluntarily having needles stuck in my skin to inject a foreign substance to permanently alter my appearance just doesn't appeal to me.  To each his own.

Those light beacons kind of look like a couple pimples ready to explode.

And since you got it in color, Todd now thinks you're white trash.

End of July though.  Maybe the 29th.  Definitely late afternoon.  I'm thinking sometime between 4:55 pm and 4:56 pm.  It's hard to say for certain though.  Just going with my gut on this one.

Trying to figure out if the skank in the Vikings jersey is fargable.  She's got some purple streaks in her hair and smokes Marlboro Lights, so I'm guessing she's a slut.  And probably good at it.  Hit.

Dig sunny's new ink.

I only have one tatt, had it done when I was 19. I figured I was done with tatt's but now I want to cover up the one on my leg. Anyone do a cover up? It's just black ink so it shouldn't be too hard. Anyone know any good artists in the area or any experience with ink?

Good tattoo artists are dime a dozen, everyone's got a guy they like.

All tattoos are stupid.

I have four.  All stupid.

Will probably get a few more.

Agree with all above. If I woke up one morning and this ink was gone I wouldn't bother getting a new one.
