So who's that leave? Bunkley, Patterson, Raegor, Scott and Ramsey?

What are the chances that all five make the team?

I'm curious as to why they chose to release him now rather than hold on to him at least until training camp starts.  Maybe another team loses a DL to injury and would be willing to trade for him.  They could always cut him in July and August and it still won't affect that cap......will it?

Excellent point.  Maybe he was due a workout bonus if he attended mini camp this weekend?  I can't imagine it would have been significant...just speculating.

Good for one year - shtein the rest. I'm shocked he made it last year because he was piss poor up at Lehigh.

Andy's doing him a favor by cutting him now, lets him catch on somewhere. And even if they get injuries they can get a guy off the scrap heap who will be better than him. Or Darren Howard slides over to DT more

The ESers are drooling over him already. He had one good year and was marginal for the rest of the time he was here.

Some of them over there even think Howard's getting set loose too. :-D

Of course they want Rayburn over at ES.  He fits all of their qualifications.

1. He's a free agent.
2. He's a D-lineman.
3. He hasn't done shtein in years.

I'm sure his Niners career will rival Brandon Whiting's
