This is the Richmond State Capitol, newly renovated and added to. This is a project that I've been involved with for about 3 years. I did the estimating, pricing, and selling of the project so we could get it. Then, I helped manage the project until it's completion.
We do misc. metals, so when you watch the video, all the glass and stainless railings you see are ones that I priced, measured for and eventually got put in. It's really weird that all the work my company put in finally came to fruition. At times this thing seemed like it would never end.
Overall, it was a cool project to work on, especially for a person like myself who enjoys history. There were tons of hidden items that were discovered when walls were ripped out. Many of the old things were refurbished and re-used in the existing capitol building.
At the very begining of the video, when they show the outside, you can see a huge fence. That fence was first installed when the building was built, some 200 years ago. We brought it back to our shop, repaired it, painted, and re-installed it. It was a pretty neat deal.
I have nothing to contribute.
