I was trying to think of someone that nobody has talked about whatsoever, but could conceivably happen.
Greg Olsen
This guy could potentially drop to the Eagles and considering how LJ Smiths has no contract extension .......... What do you think, any chance of this happening? Anger rising ???
It wouldn't even be that big of a surprise, sadly.
Ed mentioned him as one of his 3 guys he'd want, but that is the only one who I have seen mention him. Whoever did the Inky's mock draft this morning had him going to Carolina with a comment about how the Eagles should trade up for him.
I would be angry, yes. He didn't do shtein in school and could be a workout warrior. He can't block either.
I'd be surprised (and pissed) if they went OL first this year. Hell, I really don't want any OL drafted this year.
Chris Leak?
Jon Harris?
Oh...you meant this year. I'm 10 years late.
Greg Olsen may be a workout warrior, but in fairness to him he hasn't exactly had very good QB play. As far as him being a suprise pick, I wouldn't say that it really would be.

icehole! never bring up that name, especially on draft day eve.
i think any surprise pick would involve them trading up, as we've pretty much covered anybody who is going to be around at 26
Joe Staley is someone I would say, it doesn't make much sense, but Andy has obvious love for O-linemen
Joe Staley will probably be long gone when the Eagles pick, from what I have heard by listening to NFL Radio he is really moving up the board. Not to mention the fact it is a really weak OT class. I think he will go to either KC or the NYGs.
yeah, that's why i said any surprise would involve them moving up to get someone. we pretty much know who will be there at 26 so nobody should be a surprise there
Honestly I would be shocked if they move up in this draft considering their lack of picks. I really hope they trade down, because this seems to be a draft that is solid throught the first four rounds and there is not much difference between players that are outside the top 5-10 players.
Agreed on being surprised should they trade up. The only way they do that is if they can get some picks by trading players or trading players to move up. And they don't have enough good players available to use just to trade up. Ryan Moats, Sam Rayburn, Dhani Jones and whomever else is deemed expendable would not be sufficient.
Although I do believe that Moats will be dealt on Sunday.
I also agree with Staley going to KC or NYG.
They could trade next year's picks if they wanted. They will probably have 10+.
As much as I'd love it... it's shock the hell out of me if they snagged a top notch LB in round one like Jon Beason.

It would shock the hell out of me if they aquired a top notch LB......ever.
I don't get why LB is so shocking and safety isn't considering the Eagles have never drafted a safety in the history of the franchise in round 1.

Heckert, in his interview on Monday, seemed to indicate because they only have 6 picks, the fewest in Reid's era, they won't be trading up. I have them trading down with the Lions in my mock draft--and if Nelson, Griffin, Houston, and Ross are all gone by 26--I wouldn't be surprised if they traded down. I don't think Jarvis Moss is worth a 1st rounder.
there was an article in the paper yesterday...i believe brookover...that mentioned olsen as a definite possibility
meachem would be my pick as the surprise

Mel Kiper loves him some Greg Olsen, too.
Olsen is still there :paranoid
No TE, please.

Why are you so against that? With LJ probably gone after next season it is a need.
Because the defensive help available is better and the Eagles sorely need defensive help.
The only offense I want to see taken today is a RB in the 3rd. Hell, they should draft all defense tomorrow too.
Who saw Dallas trading with the Eagles in the First :-D
surprise, there is no pick.
hahaha. I was even thinking of that line when I typed that. classic

It is amazing after all these years the telepathic connection still exists.

"Surprise" doesn't even begin to describe this pick.
Just like "Fury" doesn't begin to describe my feelings.

No.
That team = obviously on the decline
This team = obviously on the decline, though, have a realistic shot to do something.
WORSE.
Wow MURPH. You start a thread like this and it's the biggest suprise pick in Eagles history.
