I don't know why the even bother playing, they should just ask me.
I know it's very early, but if the Bears lose Briggs, I don't see Grossman beating the Eagles at the Linc--especially if the Birds improve on defense and force him into being Mr Hyde. I know that's a big IF.

i think the regular season will be April 5
NFL Network has milked this as some special the past few years, so I'd imagine they will send out a press release a day or two before it actually happens.
But, of course, Lord of the Internets BigEd76 will leak it hours before it ever airs. bwahaha.
When does the official schedule come out again?
whats a schedule?
a listing of the opponents, dates, times, and locations for the upcoming season
In England they call it a shedjuwool
The schedule will be out as early as next week and as late as April 19. Originally it was scheduled for April 5 but it was postponed indefinitely because they still had a lot of work to do on it.
It's a travashamamockery!

It's like opening a Christmas present that you can't use in the winter, like a surfboard or new speedo. It's exciting because you get fantasize about it for months before it's practical.
My other favorite non-game day is the first day of ticket sales where I pound the phones like I'm having a seizure.

yup...its amazing how many times you can look at the same thing with it not getting old
i do that with my penis. it's breathtaking.
isnt the nfl website www.nfl.com ??
ive never seen a big time website be down more often...its amazing...id say its offline at elast half the time i try it and maybe more
I've never had a problem with NFL.com being down. It might be something funky with your government firewall.
nothing is blocked at my agency ever
and it always happens at home too
could be the way im typing it in but how hard is it to mess up nfl.com
i also try googling it and going to it that way and i cant
Maybe we can play 4 straight division road games this year.
Thats strange, NFL.com is one site that I never have a problem with. I have it bookmarked and it always works fine.
My b-day falls on a Sunday this year. I've got my fingers crossed for the Skins on that day. What better way to celebrate a birthday than with a victory over the taterskins?
........and maybe taking some of igy's money? Nah, he can't want to bet on them this year....
you know the bet is on again this year
i cant lose
I'm shocked and appalled! When will you learn your lesson? Never, ever bet on the taterskins.
Ahh, just kiddin'. No way I sweep like last year, but I'll bet anywayz.

Good...so I can see the games I won't get to go to (maybe 1 or 2 this year) because my schedule is crazy. I'm busier than a whore on nickel night these days and it won't get any better in the fall.
I'm even going to miss training camp this year. But it was take a 2 week vacation to Texas and Peru or stay here and go to camp....

So, where's the problem?
I'm surprised a lot of you penciled the Jets in as a win and the Bears as a loss. Right now I see it the other way. The Jets do come off of a NY game against the Giants the week before and the Eagles come off a bye, but an AFC game on the road against a playoff team worries me. Everyone knows how the Eagles fair against quality AFC playoff teams.
Also the Bears lost their best RB, could possibly be without their second best defensive player in Briggs, and are coming off a Superbowl loss. I don't know, I just don't see the Bears being as good this season.

I'm surprised a lot of you penciled the Jets in as a win and the Bears as a loss. Right now I see it the other way. History lesson Part 1-
In 1977, '78, and '03, the Eagles played the Jets and Giants back to back and in every one of those years, the Eagles swept the two games--and that includes under Reid, in the Miracle of the Meadowlands Pt2. The '78 game was the original Miracle of the Meadowlands, after the Eagles beat the Jets the previous week 17-9 at the Vet.
History lesson Part 2-
In only one of those years were the games played either both away or both home--that would be 1977 when the Eagles beat the Giants 17-9 and then the Jets 27-0 to close out the year with both games being home games.
History lesson Part 3-
The Eagles are 7-0 against the Jets since the merger.
On another front, did anyone notice that on October 28, when the Eagles are in Minny, all the games are an hour earlier than usual, thanks to the Giants-Fins over here in London? All the early games that day are at 12 and the late games are at 3.05 or 3.15--and according to NFL.com, that's Eastern time. That would make the game over here in London at 5pm--to get to Wembley from where I live, it will take me two hours on the tubes, so I'll have to leave at 1pm, get there by 3pm, and have just enough time to browse around the upgraded stadium, before I take my seat at 4.30. My question for you guys--I wonder if the Philly area is going to get the Minny game, or is Fox going to show the Giants-Fins exclusively that day. I know here it will defintely be the Giants game--but we'll have an interactive choice to follow at least two other games. This will be the only Eagles game I'll miss as I'm planning on taking my nephew to the Fins and Giants--it'll be his first NFL game.
My favorite Jets/Eagles game was the one where they were 1-15 and their head coach was Kotite. It Hugh Douglas' rookie year and the Eagles were fighting for a playoff spot. It was on Saturday afternoon and the Eagles won by a point. Adrian Murrell was the running back for the Jets.
I win. Points.

Remember when Aaron Glenn grabbed Fryars hand warmer that was strapped around his waste, pulled it off as Fryar was running down field to score and threw it at him? That game scared the crap out of me. Murrell, Hawaii boy.

then they took keyshawn which was the last time a WR went #1 overall
Ah, the 1996 draft... where Ray Rhodes took a one-eyed guard from Nowhere A & I one spot ahead of Ray Lewis, the best linebacker (and sharpest shooter) of his generation.
Good times.
:yay
I'm whoring myself out this weekend for Eagles Tickets. The guy i get my tickets from needs a baby sitter, every year my wife and i watch his 3 kids for a weekend just so i get 2 tickets guaranteed. I feel dirty but very excited at the same time
Sounds more like your buddy is whoring his kids out and you're feeling dirty but excited for obvious reasons, sicko.

If FOX showed a Giants game instead of an Eagles game in the Philadelphia market, there'd be hell to pay...
