In what order would you prioritize if you could sign one of the following to the Eagles:
Jeff Garcia, Donte Stallworth, Lance Briggs, Michael Turner
I'd go
1. Briggs
2. Stallworth
3. Garcia
4. Turner
It was more difficult to rank which would be #3 and #4. It mostly came down to who I thought was more likely to miss significant time, McNabb or Westbrook.
1. Stallworth
2. Stallworth
3. Briggs
4. Stallworth
5. Garcia
6. Stallworth
7. Stallworth
8. Stallworth
9. Turner
10. Stallworth
1.) Briggs
2.) Stallworth
3.) Fat DT
4.) Turner
5.) Garcia ( I love what he did but dont think he's as cruicial as everyone thinks.)
They should draft a QB in the 2nd - 4th round range, Feely should be #2.
Does anyone think with the giant focus on Kick Holders that the NFL might make changes to the # of active players specifically related to Holders?
stallworth briggs debate is a tough one...i think stallworth is the answer tho....the defense is more than one linebacker away from being anywhere close to good..whereas stallworth (or a #1 wr in general) changes a lot in regards to the offense
1. Stallworth
2. Briggs
3. Turner
4. Garcia

I don't think it's even that tough. Bringing in a guy who has performed like Briggs in a defense that good is always a bit of guesswork. How much of it was the rest of the D making him look good, and how much was actually him being the catalyst for looking good. As for Stallworth, we absolutely know that he makes the Eagles offense much better and adds a dimension the team can't get just anywhere.
It's a no-brainer, based on the list given.
briggs shouldn't even be in consideration since there is no shot they attempt to sign him.
Turner is probably where he should be on most lists, but i think he would make this offense great if he was signed and utilized correctly.
The list begins and ends with Stallworth. If they don't re-sign him the offseason should be considered a failure. Whether that failure is modest or colossal is another story.
And I agree about Briggs. I don't think Chicago lets him loose, but even if they do the Eagles don't have the dough to sign him, nor would they because their linebackers are "fine."
yeah, McCoy is basically as good, if not for his "shoulder injury"
Turner would make me so happy...not gonna happen.

they easily have the money...they would just have to go outside their normal realm of salary capdom to get him
The point is they're not going to, IGY, so us getting our hopes up is pointless.
Oh, and if by some small miracle they did sign Stallworth, their cap dollars would shrink to nothing thanks to all the re-up's they did this past season.
thank God Mike Patterson won't be getting away for many years
According to this: http://www.geocities.com/eaglescap/ the Eagles have around 12 million in available cap room.
I don't see how they could afford any top tier free agents with that little cap space, especially considering it will take 4-5 million to sign the draft class.
Cut trott or have him restructure would be a nice starting point
Turner is a RFA isn't he? Meaning it would require a draft pick to acquire him? If so, there isn't a snowflakes chance in hell.
I stopped caring about Stallworth, dude is about as gone as it gets. Garcia is a maybe.
I rank them:
1. Donte Stallworth
2. Jeff Garcia
3. Lance Briggs
4a. Randy Starks (RFA)
4b. Terdell Sands
5a. Michael Turner
5b. Ahman Green

Not sure what the cap implications would be, but they should have Kearse restructure as well, dude has seriously underacheived. Who else?
Cut Mcdougle, resign Juqua.
Cut Dhani
Get Runyan to restructure again?

Also, that roster showing $12 million under the cap already had removed the salaries of free agents like Garcia and Hood so it's not even as good as it looks.
Is this now simply another offseason thread?

Reid doesn't even know how to use one rb correctly, let alone 2.
A reporter for the Chicago Sun Times today says that Lance Briggs is expected to be franchised at $7.2 million and some have speculated Rosenhaus may hold him out.
btw, I should have said the rankings are hypothetical, as if the Eagles would/could get a player
1. Stallworth
1. Stallworth
2. Briggs
3. Garcia
4. Turner
