Not quite arrested, but just about any Bengals news belongs in this thread these days:
QuoteMIAMI (AP) -- Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson was questioned by Miami police regarding an investigation into the shooting death of a man.
Johnson, a Miami native who played his college ball at Oregon State, spoke with detectives Monday at police headquarters, according to The Miami Herald.
"Chad has confirmed to the club that he cooperated with the Miami Police earlier this week as part of an investigation," the team said in a statement released Friday to The Associated Press. "Police have characterized this as a routine procedure and have stressed that Chad is not a suspect or even a person of interest in this case."
Authorities have not said why Johnson was questioned or what connection he may have had in the death of Curtis Tavares Dopson last Friday.
The 27-year-old Dopson was shot near the doorway of a duplex he moved into about four months ago, the newspaper said. No arrests have been made.
He was only questioned because he was friends with the guy or someone who was with him.

The story in the article is COMPLETELY different than the one I heard this morning. This morning, they played an audio clip of the owner or manager of the strip club and he was saying that Pacman punched a stripper in the face and bit a chunk out of a bouncer's leg.
He also claimed to have everything on video tape as well. Strippers getting punched, bouncers getting bottles broken over their head and chucks of leg bitten off........I can't wait to see that!
Pac Man is a lock for Felon of the Year. I believe Vince Young will win a Superbowl for the Titans before his days are through, and he'll have a long departed Pac Man Jones to thank for it (as long as Jones doesn't first pop a cap in his ass).
When Jones was drafted Jeff Fisher wanted him but the Titans owner Bud Adams and GM Floyd Reese didn't because of the character questions. In the end they gave into Fisher, only to regret their decision.
Fast forward to last year's draft. Word was Fisher wanted Leinart as did OC Norm Chow, who coached Lienart at USC. But Adams, who still lives in Houston, and Reese wanted homeboy Young. Because of the bad fall out from the Pac Man episodes and Fisher's judgement, the decision was taken out of Fisher's hands and therefore Young was drafted. It's interesting how ripple effects determine so much of the NFL landscape.

Drug Dealer's Recorded Calls Mention Pacman's Troubles
Feb 27, 2007 12:11 AM EST
Adam "Pacman" Jones was at the scene of a triple shooting at a Las Vegas Strip Club a week ago and although police said he is only a witness there are allegations he knows the shooter and may have started the mêlée.
Exclusive conversations from a drug investigation revealed more into Jones' association with trouble.
In March, 2006 Metro Police announced some major drug arrests. A lot of the evidence for the arrests was from conversations police had taped with different dealers. Although Jones faced no charges in connection with the investigation, his name was mentioned in the taped recordings.
In one of Metro's largest busts to date, the drug trafficking investigation netting nearly 2,000 pounds of drugs, nine major arrests and more than 20 vehicles; the most noticeable was a Cadillac linked to Jones.
Jones faced no charges in the drug investigation. The car wasn't registered to him and was apparently borrowed for a rap video.
Jones' buddy convicted drug dealer Darryl Moore was the center of the investigation and now his conversations may be very telling of Jones' own problems.
"We gotta slow down, man. We gotta get him focused on football, man. He's focused on too much other s****," Moore said.
NewsChannel 5 obtained wiretapped phone conversations between Moore and his friends. In one conversation he talked about Jones throwing his money into gambling, putting thousands of dollars on college games to make a quick buck.
Moore, a convicted Felon now facing another round of hard time, actually worried Jones was spiraling out of control.
Moore said he cared about his friend and how all of his habit could affect his career.
"You know, I was talkin' to him the other day about smokin', and he was like 'man, if I didn't smoke I couldn't take all the stress that I'm dealing with right now,'" Moore said.
Moore also talked about Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher who he said visited Jones at home.
"Fisher's being as patient as a m*****f***** as he can. Fisher gotta win. Fisher trying to win...He ain't putting up with that s***," Moore said.
The Titans have said in the past they've talked to Jones. Lawyers and judges have certainly counseled him as well.
"He gotta concentrate on season...that ******* drug test coming up," he said. "We telling him he needed 33 days before he took his ******* test; dry-out, and he didn't...that's let me know right there that he ain't taking his ****** job serious."
Jones faced no charges in connection with the drug arrests. He has not been charged with anything in the Vegas incident.
However, Moore has been indicted and will face trial next month.
Titans management has not commented specifically on Jones future with the team except to say they have talked about it, will talk to Pacman and there is always the potential of letting him go.

QuoteNFL's Porter accused of punching rival at Palms
REVIEW-JOURNAL
A National Football League player was cited for misdemeanor battery after he punched a league rival in the face Sunday night at a gaming table in the Palms, Las Vegas police said.
Linebacker Joey Porter, a longtime Pittsburgh Steeler who signed a five-year, $32 million deal with the Miami Dolphins this month, was cited for the brief fight he had with Levi Jones, an offensive tackle with the Cincinnati Bengals, in the casino about 6:55 p.m., Las Vegas police Lt. Kevin McMahill said.
"Apparently these two have a history with each other, a history of trash talking on the field," McMahill said.
Jones was treated by medical personnel at the scene, McMahill said.
QuoteA fist fight between two NFL players broke out in the Palms casino on Sunday night, sources said. Joey Porter, an All-Pro linebacker who recently left the Pittsburgh Steelers to join the Miami Dolphins, brawled with Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Levi Jones, at about 6 p.m. at a blackjack table in the casino.
Jones, who suffered scratches, told Las Vegas police he would be filing charges against Porter. Sources said there has been bad blood between the two.

The report said Jones was gambling at a table at the Palms casino when approached by former Steelers linebacker Joey Porter, an on-field rival, Las Vegas Police told The Enquirer.
Video of the incident shows that Porter, now with the Miami Dolphins, struck Jones first above the eye with a closed fist. Several unidentified men then joined in and punched Jones.
The incident was witnessed by a friend of Jones'. The friend was gambling with Jones.
Porter was charged with misdemeanor battery and released.

First there's a few spots for handicapped people, then a few more for fetal factories. I can only imagine that in a few years there will be more spaces up front designated for fat people and then spaces for people temporarily using crutches. And they'll just keep designating parking spaces for people until it gets to the point where a regular, non injured, non pregnant, non fat, non handicapped individual like myself has to park a mile and a half away from the store.

QuoteHENRY FAILS A DRUG TEST
WKRC-TV in Cincinnati reports that Bengals receiver Chris Henry has failed a court-imposed drug test. Per the report, Kenton County (Kentucky) prosecutor Garry Edmondson says that the test was for opiates.
Unless Henry has been scarfing down poppy seed muffins, he's pretty much screwed.
The positive result means that Henry will be spending up to 88 days in jail on charges to which he pleaded guilty earlier in the year and spent two days behind bars. It also could give rise to legal issues in Florida, where Henry is on probation due to charges resulting from the incident we mentioned earlier in the day, when Henry was wearing his jersey while wielding a gun.
If (as we assume) Henry's past misconduct has landed him in the league's substance-abuse program, the positive test also could be deemed to be a violation of Henry's treatment program, which could result in (or push Henry closer to) a suspension.
Henry already has been suspended for the first eight games of the 2007 season for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy.

Kentucky and his lawyer says he's owed an apology.
On Monday, the Kenton County Attorney's Office almost immediately backed off
public statements that Henry had failed a drug test that would have violated his
probation and sent him to jail for 88 days.
But on Wednesday the state of Kentucky released the following statement:
"This information did not come from the state Division of Probation & Parole.
Repeated referrals to our office by the Kenton County Attorney's office were
wrong. The Kenton County Attorney's Office has no jurisdiction in our probation
supervision of Henry. Our office did, however, receive results of a drug test

Even though it happened a few years ago, Barret Robbins was my favorite story.
He went insane on the eve of the Super Bowl, only to turn up a few years later trying to murder a cop and got shot 3 times.

One of the five charges he plead guilty to was an attempted murder charge, so I don't think it is that inaccurate.
Has all the crap about Mike Vick made it anywere on the board yet? I did a search and found nothing since 2006, but he could very well make this thread.
Vick's house staging area for Bad Newz Kennels dogfights (http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/nfl/20070707_Dogfighting_at_Vicks_detailed_in_fed_papers.html)
That's a lot of dogs pretty much being torcherd.
Who's Mike Vick?

I need to start bringing my gun to the strip club, both NBA and NFL players are doing it, it just be cool
So, with Vick going to the bighouse for at least half a year, then probably being suspended from the NFL at least another year, is there any doubt he surfaces with the skins in 2009?
Raiders. Duh.

QuoteSupport Of Vick Exposes Blacks & NAACP PDF Print E-mail
Written by Garry Cobb

Am I the only person who thinks there's something wrong with the NAACP standing up for Michael Vick in a dogfighting case but attacking Donovan McNabb over all the Terrell Owens nonsense.
Does it make sense to you? Here you have the NAACP speaking out on behalf of Michael Vick who has admitted guilt. They demand that he be treated fairly. A couple of years ago you had the head of the NAACP here in Philadelphia, Jerry Mondesire, coming out criticizing McNabb for his play and his handling of the Terrell Owens incidents. You would figure that a guy like McNabb who has never been in any trouble and done tons of charity work would get the nod over Vick, who has never been arrested by the police but, he supposedly gave a women herpes in the "Ron Mexico incidence" and he had the marijuana smelling bottle at the airport Rather than this trouble excluding Vick from NAACP support, it qualifies him for it. Poor leadership is one of the major factors that has a good percentage of "Black America" headed backward.
Also notice that you have a lot more black people speaking up for Michael Vick in this dogfighting case than you had supporting McNabb when he dealing with Terrell Owens. Black people call 610-WIP and question Donovan McNabb's blackness because he came from a two parent family and has never been in any trouble with the law.
You'll see support rise for Michael Vick after he's sentenced and does his time. This criminal jail culture and the acceptance of it, permeates much of Black America. Kobe Bryant became a"real brother" when he got charged with rape.
People in the sports world foolishly single out black athletes as being spoiled because of the athletic prowess. That's not the major factor in why so many get in trouble with the law. Most of these athletes came up in this "Criminal Culture" where most of the men in their lives have been to prison or been in trouble with the law. Going to jail or prison is a "badge of honor". Having an attitude, being angry and mad is part of being a "real brother".
If a black athlete just does his job and refuses to be a sulking trouble maker, then he's not a "real brother". You saw that in the case of McNabb and Kobe before he got in trouble. Somebody as talented as Barry Bonds can still make millions and be angry with his bosses, but the millions of black kids nationwide are going to remain jobless and without an education, if they don't get a different attitude. A "real brother's" attitude will keep you poor, jobless and in prison.
People in the sports media continuing saying black athletes are spoiled when the truth of the matter is, they're just trying to fit it with their peers.

Bucs Player Passes Breath Test, Is Charged With DUI
By Stephen Thompson of The Tampa Tribune
Published: August 24, 2007
PINELLAS PARK - Tampa Bay Buccaneer David Boston was arrested Thursday night on charges of driving under the influence.
Boston, 29, who lives in Cooper City, was found passed out at the wheel of a dark red Range Rover at 49th Street and Park Boulevard, Pinellas Park police Capt. Sanfield Forseth said. The vehicle's engine was running.
Boston told a Pinellas Park police officer he had left Orlando's Celebration area and was heading to Tampa International Airport, Forseth said.
After having Boston complete a field sobriety test, the officer concluded he had probable cause to charge Boston with driving under the influence of a controlled substance or alcohol, Forseth said in a prepared statement.
At 8:30 p.m., Boston was taken to the Pinellas County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of driving under the influence.
Breath tests indicated there was no alcohol in his system, and the results of a urine test are pending, Forseth said.
It was looking like he might actually make a team somewhere.....so much for that.
Top 10 reasons to be happy you're Mike Vick...
Quote10. All of this controversy over dog fighting, makes people forget how much of a lousy QB you are.
9. You can eat all the Twinkies, and Slim Jims you want locked up. Ask Tank Johnson.
8. Your recent troubles have saved the world from buying your ugly sneakers.
7. You will be playing prison league football, so you have a chance of actually winning a championship.
6. Your Jersey might be off the shelf, buy your Dog Chew Toy is selling great.
5. Forget a water bottle, now you get to hide your weed up your ass. That's much cooler.
4. Your speed, and elusiveness will help you avoid getting "shanked" in the yard.
3. You don't have to worry about hanging with the wrong crowd anymore, because all of your friends snitched on you.
2. At least you are not Eddie Griffin. My God.
1. You don't have to worry about losing your manhood in prison, because everybody knows you have herpes.

Vick already pleaded guilty to Federal charges; now charged by the State of Virginia also (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8RSKF5G0&show_article=1)
ESPN is doing some sort of Town Hall about Vick right now...i am highly confident that someone will get shot

what was in the water bottle again, Mike?
This goes beyond the normal realm of stupidity. This isn't like Allen Iverson trying to "keep it real" or like Pacman Jones staying true to his "thug life" roots... Vick seriously is repeatedly messing up his life further and further with every decision he makes.
It's highly moronic self-destructive behavior... kind of like the way he plays quarterback.
He's being persecuted, plain & simple.
Society is tough on black dog fighters.

oh the horror
gimme a greak it weed not meth...crack....or heroin....but if hes been funneling 12 packs on a daily basis its all fun and games...is he an idiot if he smoked anywhere close to his court date yes....is it a big deal no...but im sure some opie-esq judge raised on reefer madness will think this is horrible and factor it into his sentence
seriously. with all the shtein he's been through lately i'm surprised he's not doing anything harder.
I'm the farthest thing from a narc, but what a fool. You know that you have tons of legal issues around you, and feel the need for the sticky icky icky? I would know that its time to quit for a while, switch it up to jack daniels

Exactly. I don't have a problem with people smoking the reefer in general... to each his own. However, it's just downright stupid for a guy facing Federal charges and a possible end to his football career to light up. Can't even toe the line and stop breaking the law for a few months? Ridiculous.
His career is officially over, by the way.
and for someone to go on tv and apologize to his followers and kids that "look up to Michael Vick", makes him look like the dumb thug he is. Weed is so small and harmless, but when your a high profile athlete where tons of money was put into you, and you just been indicted.....its huge
shows how much you really dont care
Vick saw his buddy "Q" lose his right to be out on the street until sentencing because he failed a drug test and be sent straight to jail.
A stipulation of his being out on bond was that he'd be subjected to random drug testing.
What a farging fool.
good news. f Vick

QuoteANOTHER JAGUAR ARREST
On the field, the Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the best teams in the league this year.
Off the field, the Jags are one of the worst.
Jaguars offensive lineman Stocker McDougle was busted on Friday for felony battery on a person 65 years or older.
McDougle allegedly pushed Quilone Mitchell, the owner of Mitchell Landscaping, after Mitchell told McDougle that he owed more than $1,200 in interest on a $1,000 check that McDougle bounced in 2002. McDougle also allegedly shoved the company's bookkeeper as McDougle left the premises.
Mitchell then struck McDougle's car with a shovel.
It's unclear whether McDougle, who is currently on injured reserve, has been released on bond
