Minny's up on the Pack 7-6. Favre's thrown 2 picks the last one being a heave to no one. Collingsworth has a mancrush on Winfield.

Minny D starting for me in the :CF Keeper League final.

I have a crush on Fred Smoot.

Packers win 9-7 and clinch 2nd place in the NFC North, eliminating the Vikings.

Trying to find the one game that screams "SCORE" this week like St. Louis and Indy did last week.
I'm thinking either Chicago -5 at Detroit, or an upset of AZ +4 in SF.
Thoughts?

Tenesee has covered every week since young has been in.

				Chefs and Raiduhs played tonight.
Anyone notice?
Yeah, me either.

I noticed.  I got almost 20 points out of LJ for the :CF Keeper final.  Two players down, one RB and my D, and I've already posted 40+.
Watch out FF!

I decided on neither, but did bet these:
NO +3
ATL -5.5
NE +3
Plus a teaser:
TEN +11.5
NO +10
BAL +10
AZ +11
CIN +10
SEA +11
You care.

QuoteThe frustration of a lost season finally appeared to boil over when defensive leader Warren Sapp threw a tantrum on the sideline late in the first half as Oakland's offense once again struggled.
.
.
Walter was 27-for-37 for 226 yards, but lost two fumbles and threw two interceptions. That gives him 22 turnovers on the season, despite starting only eight games.
It was Walter's second fumble in the first half that set Sapp off. He had been pacing the sideline and yelling in frustration during the drive. He flung his poncho to the ground after Allen forced and recovered the fumble.
After Johnson scored with 40 seconds remaining, Sapp slammed his helmet to the turf when he returned to the sideline.
Sapp fumed the rest of the half and threw a towel again before heading to the locker room after Walter's desperation heave was intercepted in the end zone by Page. Page added an interception in the end zone in the fourth quarter to preserve a 20-9 lead.
Sapp declined to comment after the game but his defensive teammates acknowledged that it is frustrating to make a stop and be forced to go right back on the field after a turnover.
"It's like cleaning up your room all day long, and somebody just comes in and messes it up," linebacker Kirk Morrison said. "How would you feel?"
The loss completed a second straight winless season in the AFC West for the Raiders, who have lost 14 straight division games.
...and they still may not get the #1 pick....

Nothing like throwing your teammates under the bus when they farg up.
Then again, Oakland's defense is 4th overall in the AFC while their offense is butt-naked last, so maybe they have a point.
Either way, I still love watching those fargers suffer, especially Sapp.   :yay
(Edited - make that they're #4 in the NFL in total defense.)   :o

yeah, both of Buddy's sons are kicking ass as DC's

I guess the old chestnut that defense wins championships doesn't apply to the Raidazzzz.
 :-D

it only applies when you have something that resembles a NFL offense.

Can the Saints drop any more passes?  Jeez.  5 drops 2 mins into the 2nd quarter.

Chad Morton done for the year with a torn ACL...

Yes they can. 8 in the first half.

Saints up on the Giants 20-7.  Panthers up on the Falcons 10-3.  Lions up on da Bears 21-17??  Texans up on the Colts 24-17???  Check that.  Colts just tied it up at 24... 2:41 remaining in the 4th.
Atlanta just ran a punt return back for a TD, but there's a flag on the field.  BLOCK IN THE BACK on Michael Jenkins... score stays 10-3.

Kris Brown kicks a FG as time expires and the Texans beat the Colts 27-24.  :-D

Chris Draft (former Falcon) tips a Vick pass on 4th down and it falls incomplete.  Panthers are gonna lock it up 10-3.
Chris Weinke also gets his first win in his last 18 starts... which date all the way back to the first game of 2001.  :-D

The Giants are awful, Aikman's really giving it to them. With a Falcons loss and Giants loss that makes us automatically in...right?

No. Still need at least a tie tommorow.

Merry Christmas to the Skins.  :boo
Jeff Wilkins misses a 41 yd FG as time expires to send the game to OT... tied at 31.

The Titans have now won 6 straight games.

The Patriots have clinched the AFC East.

Softy Plexiglass Burress was pissed that he wasn't in the pro bowl. Other than 1 lucky TD where a CB slipped and fell, you should try actually getting more than one catch in a game don't you think?
What a pansy. This dude is a joke. All he does is talk and he farging sucks.

Steven Jackson takes it in from 21 yards out.  Rams take it 37-31.  :yay

I needed that for any chance for a win in the :CF keeper league.
Dio's still in control, though.  I need Boldin and Westbrook to come up big.

We have ourselves a clusterF in the NFC....  :-D
6th seed:
NY Giants = 7-8 (6-5 NFC)
Green Bay = 7-8 (6-5 NFC)
Carolina = 7-8 (5-6 NFC)
Atlanta = 7-8 (5-6 NFC)
St. Louis = 7-8 (5-6 NFC)
...and if the 49ers beat the Cardinals, they'll be 7-8 (6-6 NFC)
Also, the Steelers and Bills were eliminated today...

The Giants wouldn't beat the Raiders right now. If they get in it is going to be a disgrace. They quit.

Well... Jackson got you 150 yards and a TD on the ground and 102 yards receiving and a TD so he's done his part for you.  Can't ask for too much more than that.

				Eli today:
9/25 74 yards 1 TD 1 INT
Take away the 55yd TD to Burress;
8/24 19 yards 0 TD 1 INT
The Giants ran ZERO plays in Saints territory today. Zero.

Question--how would the Eagles NOT get in now?  I think they'd hold tiebreakers over all the other teams "competing" for the last spot?

If they lost their last 2.
That would include a loss to the Falcons and they'd hold the tiebreaker over us at 8-8.

Right, but another 8-8 team would need to be ahead of us then too.  We beat GB.  We beat SF.  We beat CAR.  I think we'd hold tiebreakers over CAR?  We'd have a better conference record than STL, which would be the tiebreaker.  We'd have the same CONF and DIV record than NY, so maybe we wouldn't get a tiebreaker versus them?  I'm just looking at each team and I think we hold almost EVERY individual tiebreaker besides with ATL, which is why I'm confused about how we wouldn't make it.
If NY loses to WASH next week, we're in regardless I think.

Clinton Hart INTs his second pass of the first half.
Will it stand up under review? We'll see.

				It does.
SD leading 7-0
AZ winning 20-6 at the half
DEN leading 14-10

If the Eagles lose out and the Giants beat Washington, the Giants and Falcons would go because the Falcons would have the H2H over the Eagles, while the Giants would have the better common games record (8-6 vs 6-8)...
....although....if the Panthers win at New Orleans, they'd knock the Falcons out....but the Eagles have the H2H over Carolina.  hmmmmmm  :-\

Arizona won 26-20, eliminating the 49ers and giving Seattle the NFC West title...

The Bengals trailed 24-17 in Denver and Carson Palmer hits Houshmanzadeh for a TD in the middle of the end zone to pull within 1.
What happens?  The holder botches the snap on the PAT!  :-D
:41 left in the game.

SD scores a TD with :20 left.  20-17 Chargers

Game over.  Seattle has to fly across the country to face Tampa Bay next week.  We could have an 8-8 division champ this year...

Well... we're already guaranteed that someone will be a wildcard in the NFC at 8-8... unless they're 7-9.

Detroit has a 3-game lead in the strength-of-schedule battle for the #1 pick.  If Dallas wins and the Jets lose, it will be down to a 2-game lead...
No effect on #1 pick battle
NY Giants at Washington
Carolina at New Orleans
Adds 2-2 no matter what and cancels out
Green Bay at Chicago = adds 2-2 to Detroit
Cleveland at Houston = adds 1-1 to Oakland
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati = adds 1-1 to Oakland
Each team played the Jets and Seahawks once, so they cancel out
Oakland at NY Jets
Seattle at Tampa Bay

St. Louis at Minnesota

Arizona at San Diego
San Francisco at Denver

from the NYT recap of the Giants game
QuoteThe Giants did not take a snap in Saints territory; the Saints took 65 on the Giants' side of the 50-yard line. The Giants were 0 of 10 on third-down conversions. The Giants' offense had season lows in plays (45), yards (142), first downs (6) and time of possession (19 minutes 26 seconds), which gave the game a feel of a cruel schoolyard keep-away contest.

so I won all my bets except one, and the Eagles are almost certain to get in the playoffs.
Merry Christmas to Father Demon.   :yay

Did anyone see Vernon Davis get just killed? One of the best hits this season.

QuoteYesterday was the Giants' worst regular-season loss at Giants Stadium since a 50-21 defeat to the taterskins on Sept. 19, 1999.... The Giants' 59 net passing yards were their lowest total since they had 48 on Dec. 15, 1996, also against New Orleans.
