Quote"If you're booing in the second quarter but you call yourself a fan, you need to go home; that ain't my type of fan," Whitfield said.
"We're in a damn tight-ass match, going back and forth, and the noise level dropped so low, like they can't even [bleeping] make noise so the defense can have an advantage," Whitfield said.
Sunday?
"Yeah; you heard that stadium get quiet as hell," Whitfield said. "We're in it together. [Bleep], they help us win when they bring the noise level, get them jumping offsides. That [bleep] helps."
Here came a plea from Whitfield.
"Right now, for the next week, we need that [bleep] the loudest, and we need everybody in it for the whole 60 minutes, from our side, to the fans, to everybody, because we need as much help as we can to beat the hell out of the [bleepin'] New Orleans Saints."
"Just think about it: If you're on board, are you on board halfway, or are you on board wholehearted?" Whitfield said. "Don't be half-assed now. Either you're on it or you ain't.
"For this next week, this is my plea . . . next week, we need everybody, to win this game. We need the Giants Stadium fans to be with us the whole time, even the [bleep] gets rocky for a minute . . . bring the noise, bring the encouragement and enthusiasm . . . help us win that game. That [bleep] helps. Can't deny it."
Maybe he can [bleep] ing stop holding all the time.
for real
whitfield went home with killas jersey sunday nite
When all else fails, blame the fans.
All what you say may be so, but he's still right. NY fans suck.
Bob Stuart Scott Eyeball Whitfield.
Ya know, I love the cross-eyed bastich, for the most part, but, he should be more concerned with the penalties he's racking up this season. Big mother humper penalties.
That being said... I have to agree with most of his comments...
as much fun as the win was, hearing the eagles fans at the end of the game was amazing. Eagles chants left and right in the stadium. "Dallas Sucks" chants outside the stadium when ESPN was doing their thing.
Here is where I normally would make a joke like "I havent been that excited since I won a Barbie Twins poster at the local fair", but that wouldnt be appropriate.

Giants fans probably got in on that fun a little bit also.
Nah...they were all sitting in their SUVs in traffic, whining about the refs or reassuring themselves that Eli really is progressing...

Why would they? They need Dallas to win this week.
Umm... because we hate Dallas even more than the Eagles and it's the only chant we'd join you in...

Exactly. The one thing Giants fans and Eagles fans have in common is a stronger hatred for Dallas than each other.
i hate ny far more than dallas
in fact because they are public enemy #1 of the skin fans i actually have a small place in my heart reserved for dallas

My hatred goes like this:
Skins
.

.

.

.
Dallas/NY
It's all relative to where you live, IMO. I'm stuck with these racists down here and it's just awful. Seeing them walk around so proudly with their Racist logo and name. It's really pitiful.
definitely where you live has a lot to do with it (tho i would hope that no matter where youre from you can recognize the in your face racism of the skins symbol and name)
as for dallas specifically their fans dont bother me at all...they are worthless bandwagoners and the ones that arent make up a fanbase that is weaker than seven days...dallas texas?...are you kidding me...is that even a real place?
ny and dc on the other hand two hrs each way from philly...they are in our faces 24/7...and they both make me throw up a little everytime i think about them...nothing tho and i mean nothing compares to the skins...they are more hated than my next five most hated teams
But we love you, IGEEEEEEE.
you dont fool me
if you cant beat em kill em with kindness....right?
not this guy tho
the devil dwells in the rotten apple
Rats! Foiled again!

I don't doubt it. I'm just saying, at that moment the last thing I would be doing is cheering on the team that just beat mine, that's all, Bluey.
I hear ya, Romey, but, there's a helluva difference between cheering on a hated rival and mutually dogging Dallas.
Hell, that's just plain fun for the whole family.
There was a time when 2-12 and then later 2-14 was a perfectly acceptable season to me so long as the two wins were against Dallas.
I can't thing of another team in professional sports that I hate more than the Cowboys. And it's really not even close.
No doubt. I've hated them too long and strong to ever push them out of first place on my shteinlist.
I think it might be a generational thing. People my age grew up watching the Cowboys treat the Eagles like their own personal pinyata for years and years. Not only did they beat the Eagles, they humiliated them. And not only did they humiliate them, they did so without showing the Eagles even the slightest bit of respect.
Fast forward to Dick Vermeil era and the Eagles finally got on the same footing with the Cowboys and proceeded to beat their asses on a fairly regular basis, the crowning moment of which was the 1980 NFCCG. I've been an Eagles fan all my life and the moment Wilbert Montgomery ran through the Cowboys defense and scored still holds a special place in my heart, because it was like he put a dagger through every Cowboy and Cowboys fan who had tormented us for all those years.
Arrogant, smug, 'how many rings you got' redneck iceholes can fill their 10-gallon hats up with rat shtein and dig in as far as I'm concerned.
Oh, yea, definitely generational. Alot of younger Giants fans hate you guys the most due to recent years, and, I'm guessing, the internet and the loveliness it brings out in both fanbases. LOL
The best is getting looked at like I have 3 heads because I still get some glee, however minute, watching the Cardinals crash and burn year after year.
Kids. ::)

Yeah, I'm a whole what, five years younger than you? :paranoid

uh, vermiel's record vs the cowboys then was actually pretty pathetic. he was 4-10 agaisnt them. not taking away from the NFCCG.
vermiel's tenure here was not as rosey as history has made it.
^^^
yep
buddy is the gawd when it comes to merkin the cowboys
I hate Dallas, NY, and Washington fans equally. I don't discriminate, I hope they all drink bleach and stick their dicks in a meat grinder, including the "women".

As usual, statistics don't tell the whole story. You're right about the overall record of Vermeil's teams versus the Cowboys but six of those losses came between 1976-1978 which were the rebuilding years for those teams. '76 & '77 were horriblly inept football teams who could barely tie their shoes and put their pads on correctly, while the '78 team made the wildcard only by the grace of God. The 1980 & 1981 teams went 3-2 against them, after all, and considering how pitiful they were prior to that, that was a huge change.
Statistics lie.
I remember what I want to remember and none of your fancy little numbers can change that!
bahahahah

I had always thought it was Mark Twain, but he evidently attributed it to Disraeli.
I might be wrong, but...
I thought, it was better for the crowd to contain themselves when their team is offense, so the offense can hear audibles and such, and then the crowd should explode when a big play happens...
Whitfield is mad because he wants the fans to be louder while the Giants are on offense, so that the defense jumps offsides???
Doesn't make sense.
He's cross-eyed. He thinks the D is the O.
Crosseye Bob had another 15yd penalty today.
McAllister scores to make it 27-7 with 14 minutes to go. Giants fans streaming towards the exits.

Well... he could be confused since New Orleans has been the "home" team there and everything. ;)

I think he went 4-11 against them, if you count the NFCCG.
0-6 from 76-78
1-1 in '79
2-1 in '80
0-2 in '81
1-0 in their only meeting in '82 because of the strike--coincidentally, a 24-20 win in Dallas the day after Christmas.
