I said last week that we had a huge opportunity to win the East and you guys jumped all over me and the topic got locked. The fact is we will win the East. We will have a home playoff game and possibly a first round bye. Negative is one thing but some of you have taken it to a new level.

saying the run defense sucks is being negative...nevermind that it\'s the truth, it\'s negative so you shouldn\'t talk about it.
Your tense seems to be wrong, the correct tense is sucked, not sucks.
yes, one game against a team with a running back who's packed it in and a line riddled with injuries means they are stout against the run.
those 4 straight games of being gouged were the exception, not yesterday.
Back from the crackhouse that soon?
Did you guys break your ankles leaping from the bandwagon?
Dawkins has totally lost it. Totally. Cut him.
I'm happy as heck they won, and I hope and pray every game for an Eagles win.
But, am I confident that the Eagles are going to do anything in the playoffs? No.
let's see what happens on christmas. There is just way to much that can happen between now and New Year's Eve. Hell, Green Bay and SF are still alive. The niners could win their division.
Can the Gmen still win the East?

I was getting ready to rip you apart for thinking this was a possibility. Then as I started typing and started doing the math in my head I realized that it actually is a possibility if the Eagles win out and the Saints and Seahawks lose out.
Seriously. The NFC
can't be that bad. Can it?

No. If the Eagles beat the Cowboys, they would own the tie-breaker with the Giants. If the Cowboys win, they're the division champs.
I think. :paranoid
yes sarge it is.
Seattle
San Diego - no comment
@Tampa - still have some heart left
New Orleans
@ Giants - god only knows
Carolina - Panthers have packed it in
The Eagles don't need Seattle to lose out. They may even have the tiebrakers over SEA--dunno, but since both are 8-6, 1 loss from Seattle coupled with the Eagles going 2-0 would put Philly ahead of the Seahawks. They do need NO to lose the last two though.
I think Philly has the tie breaker over Seattle (as of today) based on a better conf record.

exactly
great win vs the giants a game i thought theyd get owned in
win monday tho and i put them right there with anyone else in this pathetic conference
^^ That's the way I see it.
We win Christmas night... and we've got as a legit shot at the Super Bowl as anyone else in the NFC.
id even be on board with a good showing loss monday and a good win vs atlanta going into the playoffs
I'd be on board with an Eagles loss and a crippling, career-ending, life-threatening injury to Me-O.
Yay sportsmanship.

Just to clarify, you mean "get to" not "win", right?
Actually, if you put the qualifier "as anyone else in the NFC" - they would have as good a chance as anyone else in the NFC. That chance may be less than 10%, but still...
Everyone in the NFC has a 0.5% chance of winning, even the teams that have been mathematically eliminated.

Ah yes, that would be the probability of the AFC champ's plane crashing into a mountain in Siberia.

You never know... they may decide to take the scenic route to Miami.

Yes. Yes, it can.
not as bad as the NBA's Atlantic division.
Is there any way we lock up a playoff spot before the Dallas game??
Nope.
Oh my Gawd. Just how friggen' bad can it get for the Giants?? I almost pissed myself laughing when Manning was in the shotgun, the ball was snapped and bounced of his friggen' foot before he even knew it was snapped!
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
The Giant collapse is so delicious it's ridiculous. I really can't stand that team right now. I hate the Cowboys before all others, of course. But the current Cowboy roster doesn't really have any players I can't stand right now. The Giants on the other hand have three: Eli, Plax, and Shockey. Any one of which I'd be happy to watch get their leg Theismanned.

Well of course there's him, but I hardly think of him as a Cowboy.

Hop right back on Sarget Silly! We wont think any less of you.
still hoping for that first round bye, huh?
As bad as the Giants looked, they are still in the race for a wild card. Even with a losing record. Thats how bad the NFC East is, as well as the whole conference.
We would do well to remember that as often as possible, shore. Oakland would still be in playoff contention if they played in the NFC.
