EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress is daring the Philadelphia Eagles to keep him from making an impact in Sunday's NFC East showdown.
Burress insists there is no way the Eagles can shut him down.
"I don't see that happening," Burress said Thursday when asked if the Eagles could take him out of the game. "They would be crazy to think they could do it. I am just going to go out and do what I have been doing, go out and make some plays."
With Toomer out, I don't think Tyree or Carter strike fear into the secondary--a secondary that's pretty healthy compared to the first time they played.
Plax can talk all the ish he wants and he can go out and score 8 touchdowns for all I care. If the Eagles win, it's irrelevant.
Then this is going to be very relevant.
the run defense is rip van winkle
I'd rather boo Andy than cheer for the likes of Plaxico, Shockey, or Eli. Lowlife punk ass shteinbags, all of 'em. Let Plax yap. It's what mongrels do.
Does any of this even qualify as shtein talking? What's he supposed to say? "Yeah, they're probably going to shut me down this week. I mean, they havne't been able to shut anyone else down, but I think this is their week. Hold me."
Any down the Giants pass instead of run is a wasted opportunity for them.
What are you talking about?! The Eagles defense is improved! Yardage aside, of course.
You guys aren't making much of an impression on our newest member, GenCarters.
I already told him what I think of him in a deleted thread.
I miss all the fun.
Really, what's more fun than reading an internet dork smack talk a bot?
Joining in, of course.
Going to have to double this chode. He's a quitter and a moper but those jump balls are a killer. Whichever corner is onhis will need help. I almost prefer to see JJ shy from his keeping the corners on one side of the field and just let Lito lock up on him because Sheldon has been poor this year. But they have to have a safety shadowing over the top. Let the other corner man up on Carter or whoever else is in there.
True it leaves Shockey open to beat you but the Giants never get him involved early on. The announcers are always talking about how they don't go to him to get him in the flow of the game.
farg Plaxico, I can't stand him. One of the most overrated players in the game today, the dude is a total bum. Can't play when corners play physical with him, he chokes in the clutch, and doesn't show up in playoff games.
farg Burress. I wouldn't take him for free.
I wouldn't be surprised if Plaxico was told/allowed to say that. Obviously, if the Eagles focus on taking out Burress, the Giants will run roughshod over then with Barber and Jacobs.
I doubt it. He was talking chit since week one against whoever we were playing. Then he stopped and we started stinkin' up the joint. (Gee, thanks Coughlin)
Actually, I don't even think you can consider what he said smack, unfortunately.
Yes, I'm hellaciously superstitious.
eh, let him talk, who cares.
ive advocated shtein talkers on the birds for a while...they need players with an edge like plaxico...every team needs players like that...
the birds are way too softbatch thanks to the mormon values thrust upon them
i thought the same thing when i saw Kellen Winslow try to go over and greet Joey Porter before they played last Thursday. Winslow had talked shtein and Porter wanted no part of it. They need some mean players, it's sickening how soft they've become.
Antonio Pierce had some things to say about Trotter this morning in the Inky. Nothing too bad but I like that the Jints are talking. Shockey talked about how the Cowboys couldn't beat them and they went to Ferguson and he stuck the quote on his locker and said "tell Shockey thanks". Cowboys won.
porter talks mad trash...more than most...but youre right its not just about talking trash its having the attitude that trash talkers have and the eagles havent had many players like that since buddy and have none now
speaking of porter....how classic was his apology for calling winslow a fag
Who gives a farg if they don't respond, really? Oh they must be Hoydas since they arn't entering the war of words. Cut me a break. Thats childish. All the shtein talking in the world comes during the game and thats when you get to show what you got. If I was an Eagle DB I would use this as more motivation to play you ass off Sunday.

Excellent.
I didn't mean to offend anybody but Kellen Winslow. Ha!
Agreed, ice.
I love the trash talkers. And if their "fire" infects only one other teammate then that's good enough for me.
Ya know, if it's MY team...
Plus, they just make the game more entertaining especially in this era of the No Fun League.
its not the shtein talking itself its the attiude that shtein talkers have...like farg you im gonna rip your head off now get out of my face
the eagles have air guitarists and born again christians

And Darwin Walker. He enjoys knitting, kittens and Dora the Explorer cartoons.

I agree with the spirit of this comment and those which have followed since regarding the Eagles being soft, but really..the Eagles do not need a player like Plaxico. He's a bitch who quits on plays, gives half efforts, finds excuses for his own failures, etc. etc.
I hope he hits somebody late again and knocks himself out.
How can anybody understand what Burress is saying anyway?
Does he have some sort of ish talking interpreter?
You don't need to have diarrhea of the mouth to be a badass. Reggie White was one of the fiercest dudes ever to play the game yet he never saw the need to talk shtein. He went out and beat your ass on the field. In short, he let his play do the talking for him.
To me, that's one of the biggest problems facing our society in general these days. Too many big mouths talking shtein instead of working their asses off to be the best at whatever they do. Athletes are no different in that regard.

Do you really think that is one of the biggest problems facing our society today? Have you ever read a newspaper that wasn't USA Today?
Not to split hairs here but Dhani is one of the best air guitarists I've ever seen. He's nothing short of amazing. After that seven yard gain that Betts had last week I think I saw him pull out his axe and grind out Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child". Impressive!

When style is more important than substance, it's a telltale sign that something is fundamentally wrong. At least from my perspective.
That's why we were talking about the trash talkers that also bring it on the field. But, everyone has their own view on the matter, just like celebrations. Some people have that "Act like you've been there before" attitude and some of us have that "Hell, if I'm dancing, why can't he?", but, that's another subject... and if I get ranting on that I'll be here a while. LOL
Si Andy Reid tuvo cualquier huevo, él llevaría esas hachas y las guitarras de los jugadores hasta que ellos empezaran palying coherentemente.
Pero, esto es América y nosotros tenemos la libertad de expresión y la expresión...

Did you understand what I was saying? Pretty Funny, I thought...
Anyway, I wouldn't care what players say or how they celebrate. I don't like the new rules about celebrations. As long as the players are understandable and don't do anything vulgar or inappropriate and don't cause the game ot be delayed.
But, if they aren't playing well then they should lose their guitar, axe, ballet, sharpie priviledges until they deserve them. Damn Kids!
No doubt, PLD.
You know things are out of hand when a player gets flagged for excessive celebration for putting the ball under his jersey, after a TD run, and rubbing it, as a message to his pregnant wife at home. ::)
farg his pregnant wife at home. Celebrations are low class. It's a team game. And there are people watching. Show some sportsmanship by celebrating after the game, in private.
How the hell are you supposed to teach kids not to act like iceholes when they score in pee-wee league if the guys you're watching on Saturday and Sunday act like dicks?
My buddy coaches in a pee wee league in New Jersey and he suspended one of his players for a game for celebrating after a touchdown. He was dancing like Deion Sanders and after the kid came off the field he was told to sit down and not say another word.
After the game, the kid's father came out of the stands and started giving my buddy shtein for sitting the kid. Nevermind the fact that his 8 year-old child was showboating and showing up the other team. That didn't matter to this idiot. Nope, his precious child sitting down and being taught a lesson about sportsmanship was the problem.
That's what I was referring to earlier. It's a fundamental problem in our society when children start to emulate the worst behavior of adults and that's what's happening in sports and to a larger extent in real life itself.
The parents are problems too. I stopped coaching baseball because of the parents

Same for me in basketball. Parents were giving me shtein because I was playing all the kids on the team instead of their little superstars. The fact that it was nothing more than a beginners recreation league had no bearing on their outrage.
They wanted their children to win the trophies at the end of the year and anything less was unacceptable.
Unreal.

:-D Like you care about kids. :-D Ohhhhhh, that's a good one.
What I do think is bogus is the rule limiting celebrations to the individual who scored. The league actually has a rule in place that prohibits the rest of the team from celebrating with the player who scored. Way to enforce the team concept NFL.
And the other thing that makes no sense about it is that it is only the player who scored that can do the celebrating. So if a Garcia throws a td pass to Stallworth, Stallworth is allowed to dance in the endzone but Garcia can't. Why? Don't both players get credit for the TD?
I don't give a farg about kids, nothing I've said here contradicts that. I DO care about people behaving in a civilized, respectful manner, and that means teaching kids (among other things) good sportsmanship. Hard to get the message accross to them when we're busy idolizing shteinbags on TV who do exactly what we're telling the kids NOT to do.
I know the point you were making hippie, settle down. But c'mon dude, in all the years you've been posting here I think that's the first one you've ever made that spoke about kids with a parental point of view. I know you've gotta see the humor in that. ;)
If it weren't for Utero Rooter, Dio would have dozens of children.
Mark my words, Dio will have kids. And he'll turn into a total suburbanite dad complete with mini van, dockers pants and a World's Best Dad coffee mug.
World's Best Dio!
Utero Rooter: You rape 'em, we scrape 'em.
And that's not a farging parental point of view. That's an "I've got to live around these other goddamned people" point of view, so I'd rather they were raised in such a way that they can get along with the rest of us, instead of being selfish, show off sacks of shtein. We don't need more Shockeys, Plaxicos and Trotters. We need fewer.
Rant over.
Whatever you say.......Pops. :P
Like I said, the dude is as soft as they come. Other than that lucky play where Lito jumped a route and Plexiglass got a 50 yard play, he didn't do shtein today. If you play physical with Burress he is completely useless. He gives up on plays and has a bad attitude.
What a chump. He talks all this trash and doesn't even get a TD. farging loser.
Uhh... Burress had six receptions for 120 yards and drew a pass interference that set up a touchdown. He was highly effective today.
No he wasn't. That PI call was a joke. It wasn't even close to a PI and like I said: take away that mistake on lito where he jumped the route allowing Plexiglass to run free, he'd have 5 catches for 70 yards.
He is a bum and wasn't effective at all today.
Whatever. By the way, the Eagles #1 receiver had one catch for 5 yards.
Our #1 receiver(Brown) had 4 for 77 today. Oh and he got a TD. If you are going to talk shtein like softy Plexiglass Burress then you better get your ass into the end zone. Even when he got lucky on a blown coverage by Lito, his slow ass wasn't fast enough to take it all the way. Then as usual does nothing when their team needs him most in the 4th quarter.
If I were the Eagles db's I'd be licking my chops knowing I'm going up against the softest receiver in football.
Gotta give Sam Madison credit for taking Donte Stallworth out of the action. Stallworth pimped him last time they played.
Plaxative was a non-factor except for the double move route. I wouldn't give him credit for drawing that PI either because that was a horse shtein call. The ball was uncatchable. Should have never been called.
Quote"I mean, Trent Cole said they owe us one ... What is he gonna do, kick somebody else in the [groin]?" Burress said
Plax before the game
thats actually a funny ass line
plax had a very good game but he was kept out of the end zone which is most important...in fact that was the difference in the game giants getting fg's and not td's...the PI call on sheldon was disgraceful if i was at home watching it isntead of at a friends id have a hole in my wall right now...
Cole did end up kicking the Giants in the nuts.
At least it must have felt that way watching him high-step it into the end zone.

QuoteEmotional show: Eagles CB Lito Sheppard and Giants TE Jeremy Shockey shook hands coming into the tunnel after the game. But when Sheppard told Shockey "Nice game," Shockey pulled his hand away and stormed off to the locker room. When approached by a reporter about the incident afterward, Shockey said, "Get away from me!"
What a puss!
:-D :-D :-D
Shockey and Sheli are made for each other because they are both a couple of punk bitches. Shockey looked like he was going to cry after he got flagged for unneccessary roughness on the Dawkins int. Boo farging hoo!! :-D :-D :-D
What a bitch. That coupled with Sheli almost crying at the post game press conference makes this such a sweet win.
Put your money where your mouth is Plaxico. Bitch.
We ran the ball 30+ times yesterday and controlled the clock. I don't care if Stallworth doesn't catch one pass. We played smash mouth and we took it to them.
shockey is one of the great punks of all-time but in his defense the unneccessary roughness call on him was not a good one
I don't agree with that. Dawkins was already swarmed and stopped and he came charging up the field and smacked Considine in the back. The play was all but over.
EDIT: Matter of fact, after watching the replay just now... Dawk was already on the ground before Shockey even entered the screen.
Anyway... it's great to knock all those fargers (Plax, Pierce, Shockey) in the mouth after they were popping shtein all week. Then... to hear about all their hissy fits after the Eagles get the W makes it all the mo' better.

Can't say I agree with you. It looked like when the ball was deflected, someone from the Eagles pushed Shockey in the back (may have been Considine) so that he couldn't get to the ball. I think Shockey took exception to getting blasted from behind and was looking for payback. The play was already dead and there were a few players in the pile when Shockey came in throwing his temper tantrum.
