I think it's going to be the best Rocky yet, I'm camping out Christmas Eve so I can be the first one in the theater.

So was Michelle Tafoya.  Doesn't mean a thread about her belongs in this forum.  Read around the board a bit before you post.  There's a forum called "General" which fits this thread nicely.

the new rocky is excellent....outside of the first two its the best one...great ending...represents philly lovely as well with some great shots of the city...as the credits roll they show regular people dancing at the top of the art museum steps...rockin lots of philly sports gear

stallone gave a speech before it started and said how ashamed he was of the last rocky and he couldnt bear having the legacy end with a crap movie...which is why he did this final as a sort of love letter to the fans of the movies...and it really is

4/5

I feel like you were crying and masturbating and eating ice cream while you typed this.

On the one hand I'm impressed with your multi-talented ways.
On the othe hand, there isn't a single ounce of my body that can believe that a movie about a 60 year old Rocky could be even remotely good.

I'll see this movie when you go see the Departed.

You care.

well i am a sucker for anything philly and it represented the city in a great way...plus im to rocky like sun is to super heros

my fear was the same as yours going in...how can a 60 year old box...but the movie was much less about boxing and more about rockys post adrian life and about getting old...its a dialogue driven picture with the last 15 minutes having anything to do with boxing...that being said and not spoiling anything the way they did the fight specifically the immediate aftermath of the fight was superb and not cheesy in any way which i def thought it would be

the big negative in the picture is his son...who is a tremendous hack

if you love rocky (even if you thought the last two were two of the worst movies ever made) then this movie will be great

if you just like rocky then this movie might only be decent but def worth seeing and is infinitely better than the last two which sullied the series...this one does a great service in restoring the legend and finishing it off quite lovely

I gotta admit... I am curious about this movie.

I just don't know which way to go after Rocky V.

If what Sly says is true... he didn't want to end things with V and wants to make good on the series... it could turn out to be a pretty decent movie.

Of course on the other hand, Sly could just be doing his advertising thing knowing that people could relate to him calling Rocky V the piece of shtein that it was... and the last movie was truly a sign that people should run as far away from this movie as possible.

its so much better than rocky V (and IV for that matter) its not even funny

its stands on its own as a very good movie....comparing it to the last two makes it an immediate best picture winner

I got the special edition "Rocky" yesterday.  I'll go see the new flick for sure.  The previews look really good.

PS: You get a free ticket to see the new movie with the purchase of the special edition Rocky.

Went to see it yesterday and it was great. A little too sappy in the beginning and they could have done away with the scene with that dumb girl in the bar, other than that they did as good of a job sending his character off as they could have done. On a personal scale I give it a 5 out of 5. If I were a critic I would have given it a 3 out of 5.

Saw it Friday night and f'n loved it.

Could've done without all the Eagles apparel in the stairs montage at the end though.  :=) Was there a sale on Westbrook jerseys or something?
