OK everyone.. you know you all read the "Dead in 20xx" threads, so now it's time to take part in all the fun. For a small, itsy-bitsy one time fee of $20, you too can be part of the cool crowd. AND, you will get the enjoyment of kicking rjs' ass in this game. He may know Risk, but he doesn't know shtein about people dying. He has a grand total of ZERO points this year (so far).
Home page: www.ghoulpool.us (http://www.ghoulpool.us)
Rules page: Rules (http://www.ghoulpool.us/2006/data/rules.htm)
Feel free to invite your friends, family, enemies, whoever. As long as I get the $20 before December 27th (which is when the picks are due), they are in the game.
And don't forget, enrollment in the Ghoulpool makes a GREAT Christmas present!!
so, rjs sucks at life and death.
Yah, but he's a Risk maestro. Also plays a mean Chutes and Ladders, I've heard...

Ha, you wish.
I'm definitely in for this year. I am counting on getting zero points again. It's worth $20 to wish death on celebrities who are in perfect health.

I will kill him when they come out with an online version of Tiddlywinks. And that goes for the rest of yous too.
I've never done this before. Maybe I'll have some beginner's luck. ^-^
I may do this. You're welcome for the info.
Oh, it's awesome. Every time someone on my list kicked it, I got so damned excited. It was like an early Christmas present!
So it looks like Dio, RJS, Beef Rapp, FFattPatt, MMH, Phanatic are in.
Some of you other people HAVE to want to do this. I just know it.

Quote2. People on your list MUST BE a celebrity or political figure in their own right. What this means is that Michael Jordan would be eligible, but Michael Jordan's mom would not. If you have any doubt about the eligibility of a celebrity, ask before submitting the names. The Commissioner's decision will be final in the event a person is not deemed to have sufficient celebrity status. Basically, if the person is famous by his own doing, that should be good enough. Political figures must be at the National level or higher -- no mayors or what-not. Foreign political leaders must also be at the national level for their respective countries. Again, if there might be a question, ask before submitting.
So... "King Cole" is not eligible, but "Diomedes" is... I think.
IN
Does this involve actual research to come up with a list of names, or is there a huge group on the site to select from?
Either/or. If you go to www.ghoulpool.us, there is a page called frequency which lists everyone selected from last year, and the number of times they were selected. Also, you could easily Google 'ghoulpool', 'deadpool', and 'deathpool' and see who the popular names are for these types of things.
Then there are other groups of people who tirelessly research the entertainment sites, watch late-night rag shows, and comb through the news headlines for tiny hints of celebrities. In the end, I'm not sure which is more successful.
Come to the dark side, Sus. :evil
Well, each player's picks from '06 are available on the site, so you could sort through a dozen or so entries to come up with your own list, without having to look elsewhere...
Okay...sounds easy enough. I probably can't do much worse than my FFL tries this year, so I guess I'll give it a whirl.

And you certainly can't do worse than RJS....

I used some of the methods mentioned, but also added a few "fun" picks of my own.
It's a piece of cake, Wing... c'mon. All the cool kids are doing it!

I thought that was you.. wasn't sure.
Welcome aboard!!
i'm in the process of making my list, will paypal you the money today. what sucks is that i had both gerald ford and james brown on my list. now i gotta find new names.
Cool.. I lost 4 players that were on my 2007 list in December...
Just sent my payment, do I email you my list or just PM it to you?
farging Suri Cruise just got rejected by the committee. BOOOOOO!
So I'm trying to decide between Justin Diamond, John Madden and Hillary Duff.
Any suggestions?
can you send these in till the end of the year...i thought the deadline was the 27th?
It was. I sent mine in and had this little bundle of freak rejected so I have 48 hours to replace her. Maybe I'll go with Vince Young...
Who is Justin Diamond? Or did you mean Dustin "Screech" Diamond?

John Madden's actually old, though. No fun.

Yeah, Dustin is who I meant. I guess. Whatever.
Plus, Suri Cruise should be allowed anyway.
No shtein. Don't tell me that's the "Micheal Jordan's father is not" rule. 'Cause that little slut is already famous in her own right.
I read the other day that she doesn't even wear underpants!
Nah. My guess it has something to do with must have been famous for more than a year rule.

She's 15 years tops from a paparazzi vagine shot.

And only about 8 years away from Tom taking a vagine shot.
Why would he do that? He doesn't swing that way.
i would have gotten five people in this if it wasnt for the curious dec 27th deadline....why again was the deadline for a calender year pool four days before the calender year?...not complaining as i was out of town and didnt have computer access or else i would have done it by the 27th but was curious as to why that was the date
The deadline was announced almost a month ago, so I don't wanna hear no shtein about it. It's not like it was a sneak announcement.
It was set for that date because I knew I would be busy with some personal things. And as it turned out, I got called today to make a 1000 mile drive to upstate NY tomorrow morning, so it worked out exactly as I thought it might, although that brings me no joy.
Keep on the lookout for GP'08, which will have rules and deadlines announce as early as October, since I plan on getting some advertising out there to hopefully drum up more players.

Yeah, I missed out on that boat. Dammit.
Alright, it's already been 5 days, and no one has scored ANY points. We all suck.
I'm wondering when/if "Dr. Death" is going to cash/deposit my damn check.
I'll donate $10 to Ghoulpool if he holds it for another six or seven weeks.

Are you really bitching about a $20 check that hasn't been cashed? Yeesh.
I keep having to change the date so it stays on my most recent history in Quicken. It's taken about 10 seconds of my life to do that. This post is going to end up taking more like 45. What does it all mean? I don't know.
Ohio State girls are ugly and fat.
And whores. Don't forget whores.
