Title: Un farging believable
Post by: PhillyandBCEagles on October 29, 2006, 04:13:08 PM
I'm sick and tired of this farging bullshtein.  When the hell is this team going to wake up and farging put it together for once??  We need to go out there and farging destroy the taterskins for pride's sake but I don't know what the farg to even do anymore.  These clowns better be at the farging Novacare every goddamn day during the bye week

What's unbelieveable about it? This team is a .500 team. Period.

People talk all that shtein like "We should be 7-1! We could be 8-0!". Those people need to shut the farg up. farg what we should be. We deserve to be 4-4.

Unfortunately, this is precisely correct.  Yes, the Eagles "could be" 7-1 if three plays did not happen at the end of games.  But those plays happened, and the Eagles are primarily at fault for those three plays.

Truthfully, championship-caliber teams do not allow those plays to happen over and over again.  The Eagles have choked three games away- the great teams just do not do that.

The Eagles are what they are - a usually-competitive, but inherently mediocre team.

once is a fluke....twice a coincidence...and three times a trend

And what have you seen this year to suggest that, Truck?

Your team almost reminds me of the Niners when they were winning supabowls. Panic central during the season with everyone bitchin about something or another.

Bottom line is this. Your team is skilled, experienced and stocked with enough of the right mix of leadership that when it comes time to the big games down the road and in the playoffs, they'll turn it up and bring it. It's impossible to play championship ball every game all season.

Wow...if this is what it takes, then maybe I should just go in for electro-shock right now. Or move to a cave in Tibet.

You wont be lonely sharing that cave with an army of grey beards wearing Roger Craig jerseys.

roger, just checking for a pulse around here

but i did predict bledsoe chokin.....then i predicted a pick a couple minutes before he threw that duck in the 4th

more rathmadamus predictions:

giants will run out of steam soon

dallas will implode at the end of the season during a big game or wild card

eagles win last 3-4 games and take division

he's got a point.

the 2005 steelers lost three in a row last year in weeks 10-11-12
the 2001 patriots were 6-5 at one point
reid has a solid track record for november and december
(year Sept-Oct / Nov-Dec)
1999 2-6/3-5
2000 5-4/6-1
2001 3-3/8-2
2002 5-2/7-2
2003 4-3/8-1
2004 7-0/6-3
2005 4-3/2-7
2006 4-4
Total
Sept-Oct 34-25 .576
Nov-Dec 40-21 .655

i may be one the only ones that isnt crying "SEASON OVER"...but i have my reasons. been watching this too long to not know that a team can turn things around very fast. you see it almost every year.

it's the same panic every year. i'm giving the eagles the benefit of the doubt before i write them off this year.

most people here should realize that as long as you're peaking at the right time, that matters more than anything.

belichek is the one that stands out there.

cowher took 14 years to win a superbowl. and along the way, lost a superbowl. and also lost 4 home championship games before last year.

cowher also had a stretch of three years where he missed the playoffs.

so...go ahead, the paralells between reid and cowher are actually quite fair, and pretty accurate.

some great coaches never win...so im not sure what your point is

the difference between reid and the others is that reid has shown to be an incompetant game day coach for basically his whole career....the others even when not winning superbowls showed to be very good coaches

so just because someone didnt win for x amount of years doesnt by definition make them the same as someone else who hasnt won for x amount of years

you have to actually watch them coach games not just look at a stat and say well he took this many years to win or this guy hasnt won yet either so therefore andy is as good a coach as this guy

Truck,

I love you man!

Unfortunately we don't have a Bill Walsh/George Seifert.   We have Mr. I need to do a better job with that next week. (fill in whatever offensive aspect of the game you'd like for "that")

Truck,

Depending on how the Flyers salvage  this month, how the Sixers start and how the birds find a way to pull their head out of their asses I will probably be into surgical rubber and syringes by December.
