Figured I'd start this to share what John Czarnecki of FOXSports.com is reporting;
Stallworth is out (didn't make the trip)
Westbrook will start.
Guess they're hoping Stallworth can play next week then rest during the bye.
Or sit through the bye...
I think he'll give it a shot next week because of the bye.
Thankfully the offense hasn't sputtered without him.
I'm a little nervous today. They have to get to 5-2---must win. I hope they come out smokin. No slow starts and FINISH THE GODDAMN GAME!
hey its another week where i wont get to see the game so keep up the good work and keep the rest of us updated. thanks in advance!
I've got a hunch that today is the day that Brodrick Bunkley announces himself to the NFL...I think he gets a sack or two and another big play. He's playing in his hometown.
I also think that Smith has a huge day on offense.
Temperature is in the mid 80's in Tampa right now and expected to be in the mid 90's come game time. Heat index says it will make it feel like it's in the 100's. Pickle Juice?
Spads said that they won't be going deep too much today because of the Cover 2 (makes sense)
Ryan Moats will RETURN KICKS today per Spads on Fox29
Justice is inactive so if Tra's back acts up Herremans slides out
dont win this game seasons over....my only worry is the crowd factor and the bucs blitzing a lot to throw off the offense...im still waiting for that dud game...signs have been showing lately that it may be coming...specifically the atrocious 3rd down % theyve had for the last two weeks
that said they do win today 20-10...no way they lose to mike peplinski
my personal delimma today is this
eagles are on locally so i planned on having my eagle friends over to watch the game
however
the skins start at 4 and if the birds game is not over it will be cut off for the skins and that is making me think i need to go to the bar to watch
do i take the chance of staying at home?
I think you'll be OK. FOX starts late games @ 4:15 so it should be alright.
I thought last week was the downer game on offense. Despite the 21 unanswered they sucked on offense.

Stay home. That way, people won't harass you at the bar for wearing a Skins jersey.
all late games are 415 now...i thought only the 'national' game was
also because its the local washington fox station i think the eagles game will cut off at 4 for the skins pregame wont it as opposed to cutting over at exactly 415
Quote from: ice grillin you on October 22, 2006, 11:11:34 AMdo i take the chance of staying at home?
Go to the bar. Guarantees you'll see the whole game. Spend some money, support the economy. Added bonus: since you won't be having friends over, your mom won't yell at you for the mess they make.
That way, people won't harass you at the bar for wearing a Skins jersey
well its an eagle bar which actually makes it pretty bad...usually when i go there tho i wear my half taterskin half eagle jersey and usually get left alone
Added bonus: since you won't be having friends over, your mom won't yell at you for the mess they make.
double added bonus: moms drives and picks us all up from the bar

I thought CBS games started at 4:05?
I don't think they have local pre-game shows. I know the Eagles, when they play late, have the pregame on Fox29 at 11am, then the national pregame at 12 and then the games at 1. They switch over right before kickoff to the late games.
did anyone confirm that Sallworth isn't playing? i haven't seen anywhere other than this thread.
skins are on fox today

i dont know...ill make a 1230 decision as to where i go
the prospect of participating in this thread and breaking down each play with dio for the whole game has me leaning towards staying home
I'm not going to be here, if that helps you decide. Got other ish to do.
yeah me too...farg the birds
me three! LOL
i'm still hung over from new orleans. i'm staying home and watching it.
damn i was too all week...but i didnt want my tolerance to go down too much so i went out last night and got blizznutted
and it will be right back on today

I have a feeling that the Skins are going to win today
when theres a game where everything points towards one team the other team always wins or comes close
skins lose at home to arguably the worst team in the nfl
colts undefeated
colts have peyton
skins have a brutal secondary
skins banged up
skins on the road in the dome
colts coming off a bye
in general the belief is that skins are coming apart at the seams
not saying the skins are gonna win outright but im def all over them and the number
i don't think the skins win, but i think it's close. they definitely cover the spread.
hopefully i'm totally wrong.
How much did you put down on that game?

Actually, it is a NFC South thing. I was just thinking the same thing yesterday.
I think it has to do with nature of the fans, who appear to me, to be late to attach themselves to their respective teams. They're less likley to attach themselves due to any type of tradition & are in it mostly for the social aspect of the game or to associate themselves to some recent success. To me, they are the fan equivalent of dingleberries.
OK folks, it's time!
GO EAGLES!
Moats to the 30 on the opening kickoff.
So which wide out goes over 100 yds today
Westbrook for 5 on 2nd down. Shame he doesn't get to run on 1st down.
Westbrook short of the first down with that catch. Runyan getting into a fight already.
Refs give them the first down anyway.

8 yard run for Westbrook.

Westbrook with the quick catch and a stiff arm.
Westbrook can carry the ball. His knee is hurt, he's totally suck.
Seriously, I love to see all the runs. Keep feeding the backs. Please.
13 yards for LJ.
LJ 1st to 25
Buck for 1 yard with no FB.
False start on Tra.
FARG offdise Thomas
Avant stripped, Bucs recovered.
Avant fumble on 21 :P
Jason :boom
Protect the dam ball!!
That will be the last of the running and short passes today.
Another rookie showing promise but still making the mental mistakes.
That was a good catch and looked like it was going to be a good run after. Gotta hold the ball tighter then that, Jason. :boom
Fumble, Eagles recover.

The Eagles D comes up big and makes a big play. Except Caddy was down.
It'll be overturned.

Thanks for the updates guys, I'm listening to the game through NFL Field Pass on a delay. You pretty much have to live in Philadelphia or Tampa to get this game on TV.
Run on 3rd and 5 picks up 6.
Pass swatted down.
Who got run over on that "tackle" ?
Wynn calls for the fair catch, someone runs into him. Flag comes out.
The flag is for holding on the Eagles.
Unbelievable...interfered with fair catch and Eagles get 10 for holding :boom :boom
Westbrook tries to cut back, picks up nothing.
4 for Westbrook on 2nd down.
3rd and long 4
Westbrook drops a first down pass.
Gotta hold onto that Westbrook. It looked like he had it until he hit the ground.
Time for the defense to step up and make a play.... :-\
3 yards for Williams on the pitch.
False start on the Bucs.
This sucks. I can't connect to the Shark and listen to the game. Friggin' server sucks.

farging nice
Reggie, Reggie ;D
that woke me up
Buck with another carry for 1 yard.
INT.
farg farg farg
FARG..lucky buck got him
The best part about that play is both Reggie and Hank were open, and Hank was going downfield and was going to be wide. That's a good sign for the rest of the day.
And McNabb throws a pic...Reggie again fails to come back to the ball....but in his defense, that ball was thrown behind him, pretty much right to the defender.
Reggie ran a lazy route, the corner saw it and jumped in front for the pick.
Baldinger wants to give Gruden a backrub
Considine with the diving ankle tackle in the backfield. Start him. NOW.
Nice Considine!!
BIg play by Considine getting Cadulc for loss
Williams runs in the right direction. :-D
10 yards for Williams on the draw. Punt.
Wynn with the fair catch. Nobody ran into him this time. Holding on the Eagles.
The Bucs can't even get any points with the Birds constantly giving them the ball. If the Eagles stop turning the ball over they can start rolling.
It doesn't look like the Bucs will be doing much scoring today. Unfortunately, the Eagles don't like to keep the ball long enough to score themselves.
Pass goes over LJ's head. He gets his hands on it, but no catch.
Baskett with the great first down catch.

McNabb's been way off the beginning of this games. He'd better straighten himself out soon. >:(
It's killing Reid right now to not go playaction bombs on every other play.
My family is going to need to leave the house soon.
That play is exactly why McNabb needs to run the ball. The Bucs knew he'd go for the quick throw in the middle, and they sat Rhonde there and waited. Next time they bring the pressure, either chuck it deep in the 1-on-1 or run it McNabb. Let them know you can still beat them with your legs please.
At this point, Reid needs to keep running the ball. It's obviously working....please, Andy. Please.

would be nice to see a run by westbrook here where he breaks a long one.
New plan. Run Westbrook twice with a FB. If there's a third down, send Reggie on a slant or fly pattern, let everyone else run curls, comebacks, and anything that requires effort.
McNabb takes off for 6.
I like your plan. Reid won't run Westbrook twice in a row. It'd be like blasphemy.
McNabb runs the ball. Nice.
I think the main goal of this offensive series is to avoid giving the Bucs D another TD.
Ugly run, looked farged up from the start.
Obligatory cheesesteak reference.

I don't think so. But it would be nice.
Reid almost had this football thing figured out there. The offensive line was mauling the defense with the run.

True, but if you're going to call a play, all the routes have to be either in the endzone or right on the line....not on the 2 yard line and hope he can get in. Not saying McNabb didn't screw up...just saying...you can't run that play and not have everyone in the endzone or on the line.

I can't wait to see the million complaints about time management after the game. That play had NOTHING to do with time management. The drive was managed perfectly. Andy would not call a pass to the 3 yard line, that was all on McNabb and he is having a poor game today no question.

but the play was to LJ, no doubt.
oddly enough though, mcnabb's been pretty damn accurate with his throws today. that pass to lj woulda been a great time for a worm burner.
If the had poor time management they wouldn't have gotten down to goal in the first place. McNabb simply made a poor decision. That decision didn't have anything to do with Andy's ability to manage the clock on drives. No way Andy called that play. McNabb most likely got excited and threw the ball without thinking.

The fault with Reid is in the fact that he shouldn't have a route on that play not going in the endzone or right on the line. It's a bad play call followed by a bad decision by McNabb.
Andy designing that play to go to LJ is the football equivalent of an officer ordering soldiers to fire on their own men... McNabb should disobey even if he was specifically told to go to Smith.

Kickoff to the 30.
You can't have everyone run routes in the endzone, or else TB could just sit on the routes. The play call wasn't horrible, because LJ can occupy some bodies short of the endzone and create more room for the WR's.
It was just a bad decision by McNabb. He has to know that with 9 seconds left and no Time outs that you have to go endzone. At least come out of the half with a FG. That was just a boneheaded play. That was completely on McNabb.

2. reid not abandoning it, even when trailing.
The D has been solid today. Need to get a 3 and out right here.

I want a turnover or a sack here. Time for the defense to step up huge.
McDougal makes a good play, then becomes retarded. Trotter kicks his ass.
WTF?
finally get a sack, but a facemask and now mcdougle kicks the flag. brilliant move dumbass.
Dumb ass
McDougle = Bust
farging cut mcdougle right now. don't even fly him back with the team. greyhound muthafarga.
McDougle just accounted for 30 yards.
His ass is cut next week. Watch. Example will be made out of him.

he's in florida. maybe we'll get lucky and some friends of the people who jacked him before will be waiting for him outside the stadium.
Why can't this defense nut it up when it matters?
Yes, McNabb played horribly this game. He also brought the team back and gave them a chance to come back. This defense is coming up small when it matters.
Defense made the stop. It'll now be up to the offense.
eagles will at least hold them to a fg.
perfect right where we want them ;)
We'll get a shot. time for McNabb to be a hero.
naturally, bryant has been attrocious all year and hadn't made a fg longer than 28 yards. today he's made 2 from 30 and 40.
Thier crappy kicker of course makes a kick he hasn't made all year, making it harder for the Eagles.
Gotta love it. Hey, at least we're going into our final drive with 2 time outs. :D
McNabb, that sweet hunk of man meat,'s gotta go get us a touchdown.
Shoot McDougle. Now.
how much time left?
Even with the facemask the Bucs would have only netted 6 yards. The kicking the flag is what really cost us.
Schobel drops a pass.

3rd and 2. i want to see mcnabb run this.
Run for the first. Please.
Wow. this last second heroic drive really is starting off well.
He ran for the first. :yay

I'm feeling a Westbrook decoy, deep throw to Reggie or Hank.

No. this was definitely the soft part of our schedule. We played crappy teams, and our divisional games were at home. We should at least have been 6-2 or 7-1 at the break. Now we'll be lucky to finish 5-3.

Agreed. We needed to be at worst, 6-2 going into the bye. Now, 4-4 is very possible.
The 61 yard FG is just unbelieveable...I mean christ...who the farg can hit that on a good day? Akers, maybe...maybe Morton Andersen in his prime...some farging scab that will be out of the league in a couple years beat the Eagles today.

I knew that kick would be good because it seemed like the wind was blowing that way all game long. Both kickers were putting the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs when kicking that direction.
Even if he did put some leg behind it he needed to be incredibly accurate to hit it from 62 yards out. Nuts.
62 yards.
62 farging yards.... :boom
I really think that if Gradkowski was not the OB, Gruden would have gone for the end zone. It didn't look like he wanted to go for the FG.
Maybe I'm wrong, but it would be part of the curse of being a Philadelphia sports fan.\
Now I am going to go and punt the cat.
You know what is amazing? I'll give Matt Bryant that field goal and I bet he doesn't make it 99 out of 100 times. Especially under those circumstances with the game being on the line and his team struggling. Today, though somehow he makes it.

Mike Lewis postgame quote: "Go ahead and jump off the bandwagon because we don't need you."
i guess it something....nice to know the players feel it too...even if it is a crappy player who was benched.
Just got off work and now I'm really farging heated.
The zesty part of working in a TV station when the Eagles lose is having to see the damn thing over and over again in every farging highlight. Of course, being that the Bucs are division rivals of the Falcons... it's a relevant game here even though we concentrate on the local stuff.
We do a half hour of news at 11:00 and then a half hour sports special immediately afterwards. Well... we start the sports special, and I see that farging kick in the show open. We show the Eagles/Bucs highlights... I see that farging kick. We even have a sponsored highlight called the "Thrill of the Week". Guess what... it's that farging kick! It was farging torture.
Meanwhile... since I guess he can hear me huffing and puffing while I'm punching the show (and he knows I'm an Eagles fan), the producer was looking at me with this dumb smirk on his face and he says, "Don't break anything over there, Ronnie". He kept on smiling until I told his punk ass to eat a fleshpop.
There's also a co-worker of mine who sits back behind me and every time we showed that farging kick... she'd say, "Sixty two! Damn!" just to farg with me. I told her that "62" is the number of her family members that I hope catch AIDS.
farg that punk ass producer.
farg my co-workers who try to get under my skin.
farg the Bucs.
farg Matt Bryant.
farg the Eagles.
farg you guys.
I'm going to bed. Gotta get up in the morning to go back to that shteinhole. Good farging night.

that's my boy
obviously, everyone is going to remember this game for Donovan's awful play early. the picks, the play at the end of the 1st half, everything. and they should remember that...he singlehandedly put them in a 17-0 hole. but he also brought them out of it, that shouldn't be forgotten. he made awful mistakes but made up for them with some great plays. the net result was the Eagles being up 1 point with 33 seconds left.
33 seconds left, the kickoff goes 2 yards in the endzone and the Eagles let the Bucs get to the 35(ish). then, the defense still has an opportunity to shut down a rookie quarterback who hadn't done anything all day and they couldn't do it.
Donovan played awful, but don't forget the Eagles had the lead with 33 seconds to play, and blew it. That should be remembered just as much as Donovan's mistakes, if not more.
the more fundemental problem is the eagles being out time of possesioned this year by over five minutes a game....this is a meaningless stat in blowouts vs houston and gb but in close tough games its a killer
yesterday westbrook could not be stopped averaging over 8 yards a carry and yet he only runs the ball 13 times...result?...tampa wins the TOP battle by more than three minutes...turn that around or even make it even and give the ball to the eagles an extra 3-5 minutes thruout the game and tampa doesnt have any time to score at the end
it should have never come down to the end
OHMYGODMattBryant!
Bottom line is that they lost at least two that they should have won. If they don't win some that they "should" lose, there's no way they make the playoffs. What really bothers me-- even when they win-- is that on O, they live and die by the big play and can't sustain any drives to control the clock; conversely, on D...they can't get off the damn field when it counts. That's not a great formula for long-term success.

WINNER!
I woke up realizing we still blow. Matt Bryant will never make another FG beyond 50. Only against us. Cursed. :poison
Oil under $59 on rumors that Kenny Rogers used flaxseed oil to kick 62-yard field goal, giving Oakland its first win.

I don't agree with that. How often does a kicker make a 62 yard feel goal? That wasn't the Eagles fault. The Eagles defense did their part in stopping them. 99/100 times that FG misses and we win. McNabb put the team in too big of a hole. If he didn't then it should've been a 21-9 game, but it wasn't. EVen if we got a FG at the end of the first half then we would've most likely won that game too.
Although I wouldn't have been shocked if Tampa converted on a hail mary late in the game the way our luck has been this year.

fargers think they won the super bowl down there......
Does the idea of Using Baskett and Juqua on ST FG Blocks make sense when the opposing team is kicking over 45yds? Juqua just because he has hops, and Baskett with his high jumping records/ability?
Juqua is out there.
The problem is that Mike Patterson is too. Love ya Mike, but you're 5'10. Runyan and Tra should be in the middle of the DL getting a push and getting their hands up.
Baskett should be playing right behind them.

When asked about the Hanson postgame video, Spadaro responded with this:

I have to admit, I was a little more excited about these guys before remembering that they're a bogus roughing-the-passer call and a 62-yard field goal away from being 0-6.
I watched it again after reading this, and he's actually right. Oh well.

He was referring to the bogus roughing the passer call in the Bucs-Bengals game that enabled Tampa Bay to win.
Oh yeah. But the call on McDougle was weak also. Of course, he took it with such grace that I nearly had forgotten!
McDougles was a facemask though - not a roughing.
He did grab it. But it should've been 5 yards, not 15. And the idiot shouldn't have Dirk'd the flag (although he did punt the yellow hankie farther than Diggler's punts).
Phreak your right, ive been saying since the play happened it should have been 5 and a 15. Just a 5 would have been ok, but then Mcdougle had to show he's from the U. Time to let this thread DIE :evil
i thought mcdougles call was ticky tack but on his wip show trotter said it was no question a personal foul...so ill believe him

Even if it is just an incidental facemask of the 5 yard variety......as soon as McDumbass kicked the flag it pretty much assured him of getting the max penalty.
Why hasn't he been cut yet?

Typical Tampon Gay. 5 seconds after the kick people are headed up the exits. Like they give a shtein.
