You lazy fargs.
Boo poor special teams tackling! >:(
Deuce picks up 10 on 2nd down. Run defense is looking good again.
Reggie Bush runs away from Brian Dawkins, loses a couple.
And picks up 9 on a swing pass. The kid is pretty fast.
He has no fear fo Joselio Hanson.
Watching NFL GameCenter, can't get the game.
This proves that Bush is a better receiver than TO.
I am not liking this
What a pitiful tackle. Who blew that?
Drew tackles Bush in the backfield.
A little better
Just barely stopped Bush on that pass. Here comes the FG.
Not a great start but let see what type of tempo/emotion the offensive has.
That didn't help my bad feelings about this game.
Drew Brees made a better tackle than any Eagle in that drive.
Reggie actually looked like a competent receiver on that play.
Obligatory TRA penalty.
Looks to me like the Saints tackle much like the Eagles.
Buck getting in on the swing pass action.
Hollis sacks McNabb after he held the ball too long.

Punt.
Reggie Bush can run really fast and catch bad throws.
Defense gives up 14 to Bush.
Reggie Bush swing pass right, Reggie Bush swing pass left.................... >:(
Looks like Fox is on the Reggie Bush train
Howard was juuuuust a little early on that play.

Duece picks up 12 through a big hole.
U.G.L.Y.
Defense is all turned around.
The defense is back to normal, playing like shtein.
Reggie takes the toss for 9 yards.
Exccccellent...my strategy to start McAllister in fantasy ff worked to perfection. He was a lock to get hurt.
McCoy called for a horsecollar.
McCoy did the right thing, though.
The sad part is I can see what is going to happen. Why can't they? They just keep letting that swing pass wide open.

Potentially injure the guy? That's one way to stop him.

This game is getting ugly fast.

Christ, it's a vortex of stupid there. Joe Horn may have gotten dumber just by being that close to them, which would explain his "dance."
Two horrible stints by the D. They need to wake up quick.
Sean Payton is workinig is magic. He always gameplans well against the Eagles.
Eagles are going bombs away on this drive. That's the MO.
They showed Dawkins and Lewis sitting on the bench. Lewis is trying to explain something with hand gestures, Dawkins looks like he wants to kill someone. Preferably someone sitting next to him and farging things up again.
The offense needs to score on this drive.
Well, I'm convinced that the concept of a letdown game is a myth.
One team has shown up to play thus far. That team is not the one from Philadelphia.
The offense has to do something here. Give the D a break, a chance to collect themselves
Hollis with the tackle in the backfield.
Somehow, black isn't slimming on Hollis.
Let's get another commercial break they are awesome. This game is really pissing me off badly.

The defense isn't going to collect themselves. They're outmatched and have been gameplanned against.
I wish we had a larger view of McNabb's sack on the first drive, because it looked like LJ was wide open on that double move play -- the only thing that could have possibly made McNabb hesitate was maybe a safety over the top.

Yeah it was a pretty good play, I'm just mocking Aikman for picking him as his fantasy player of the week during the pre-game.
Fujita with the 8 yard sack.
This is insulting...
3 and out just what the team needed.
8 attempted tackles on that punt to take down Reggie Bush.
My favorite play on that series was Sims beating Runyan, that was great.

That one was on McNabb. Didn't get rid of the ball quick enough. Lewis had separation a few seconds earlier in the route.
A turnover would be nice. This defense needs to pick up the pace on getting to the outside, they look horribly slow on those swing passes and sweeps.
wtf...
Sheldon with the PI.
Dree Brees is having all day.
Horn is cheap. He was tying up Sheldon to get to the ball.
Lito should have returned it for a TD. No excuses.
Lito with the big INT at the 2. Huge play, and just kept this game from getting really ugly.
Let's see if the O can stay on the field now.
Jesus...
Baskett with the push on McKenzie.

1-10-PHI 39(13:42) D.Brees pass deep right intended for J.Jones INTERCEPTED by C.Buckhalter at PHI 1. C.Buckhalter to PHI 30 for 29 yards (R.Bush).
Hopefully that pick will spark the offense
That's a BS call.
These penalties are getting ridiculous.
WTF??!? How is that Offensive Pass Interference. Should have been a no call.
That was a pretty ticky tack call.
Nobody can catch the ball anyways.
And Baskett drops the next pass to him.
What the hell was that call?
Baskett had no chance of catching that one. 3rd and 20.
Avant with a huge catch!
Avant!!
On edit...WTF????!!?!?!?!?! :boom :boom :boom
Sigh.
*sigh*
Refs are rough on the Eagles this game.
maybe the best farging screen team in the NFL can slow down the rush with a farging screen. the playcalling sucks right now.
CATCH THE fargING BALL!
This game sucks.
This game can, and probably will, get worse.
The whole team sucks right now, not just the playcalling. Baskett played the ball poorly on both of those throws to him and Avant doesn't make a play that he should.
So much for all that talk about not having a letdown after the big Dallas win. If this isn't a let down so far what is?
As much as it sucks, it was an incompelte pass.
Anyways, back to major coronary episode:
Stecker picks up 4 yards. This run defense is simply terrible.
Wynn with no help on the return.
I guess Reggie doesn't like to get physical
Need. Something. Now.
A rare play.
And for yards...too.
Avant catches that one for 7.
Need some screens.
Baskett drops another one. Tough catch, but he had it.
where are all you Baskett bitches now?
No excuse.
Good thing the Texans didn't take Reggie Bush, they couldn't have used him.
NFL.com Gamecenter is a piece of shtein and ESPN's is hard to follow. farg this.
Stecker *should* have been tackled for a loss. He picks up 3.
Saints finally have a penalty.
No one wants to make a play. They look like they are playing scared. Unreal.

Moats. Nice run. We need to come away with some points.
Reid's face is red like a beet.
Does anyone on this team have a clue right now?
3rd and 3. I dare you to guess if it was a run or a pass.
Should be a first. nice 3 yard catch Reggie Brown.
OK, that'll work

Deuce looks like he is running on one leg and he still picks up 9 yards.
9 runs, 41 yards
16 passes, 52 yards.

Note to Reid: Running outside isn't working. Except that time.

Michael Lewis. Offensive MVP.
Way too deep for Baskett.
A run on 3rd and short who would have thunk it.
Geggie catches for the first down, and immediately runs the wrong way for -1 yard.
Westbrook up the middle is working pretty well now.
Found: Missing Ground Game.
Wasted timeout #2 of the second half.
Heard during the time out:
McNabb: What do you want me to do, Coach?
Reid: Just chuck the ball, big boy.

Trotter on Horn. Great idea.

May as well just give them the end zone now and give McNabb more time to get sacked. :boom

What the hell happened to this defense?
The same thing that happened all year. They're kinda good at rushing the pass, not very good at anything else.
The let the Saints drive the length of the field and take all of the time off the clock. This is a really bad loss.
Defense killed the Eagles this week. More jizz is going to be flowing from the mediots for the Saints now. Too bad the O took the first half off too.
farging 12 men on the field, that's embarassing.
they farging deserve this loss, farging half assed offense in 1st and 2nd quarters, zesty defense throughout.
This was completely on the D. 16 play drive at the end that ate 8 minutes off the clock. Unreal.
And the Giants and Cownoys both won... at least the Skins lost. Small consolation though. As in none at all.
Cut Michael Lewis. Now.
Oh well. The defense played like warm vomit all game.
We need games like this if we're going to win the divison...
It just seems like everytime our offense is clicking and moving the ball, our D just rolls over

They should leave him in New Orleans.
Michael Lewis should be shot.
12 men on the field - Omar Gaither negating the sack; should be shot.
Shoot the entire defense.
I would go so far as to say it's time for Jim Johnson to go.
I just don't get what happened to this D, this is a very similar defense as the one that went to the SB and they just don't seem to have it anymore.
The Eagles beat themselves today PERIOD. 12 men on the field penalty, Michael Lewis getting torched AGAIN.
We all know the Eagles are the better team but that doesn't make this loss feel any better. We should have won PERIOD.
Philly's still on top of the division, but they lost a chance to get an early stranglehold... again.
Defense blows.
And wasted Time Outs...it wasn't the first time that calling time outs whenever we feel like it has cost us.

You're no one to talk about balls, welcher. You're still alive.
The defense is completely inept without the pass rush.
Mike Lewis is a complete liability in pass coverage. The Eagles highly-touted pass rush could not get any pressure on Brees the whole day, and they essentially just dinked and dunked the Eagles to death.
They consistently moved the ball. They deserved to win this game. I can't believe this defense turned into a bunch of sissies. They simply can't match up besides the d-line; and the d-line looked incredibly horrible this game. Numerous times they were all bunched together and Brees was just sitting there. Utter crap.
This is so disappointing. McNabb looked completely dejected after the game.
Lewis is an embarrassemnt in coverage. Not much doubt about that. And Jones was his usual invisible self. Hey, let's get Lewis to play SLB and send Jones packing. Sure, I'm kidding.... :paranoid

The game was just so winnable, granted the Eagles D sucked the big one. These types of losses really hurt. They need to win out before the bye to keep some seperation and hopefully they can work out some of these coverage problems after the bye (i.e. get Rod Hood back).
But, even so, I think the Eagles are going to have to outscore their opponents this year to win. The sooner Stallworth gets that hammy straigthen out the better.

I'm glad they took shots down the field, but they gotta set it up first with some runs and shorter routes, get the CB's to bite on PA and stutter steps. Plus McNabb seemed a little off target on some of his deep throws today.
Westbrook definately needs to get the ball more. Did they even run a screen pass this week? :boo

You would be best off not worrying about Dont'e "street clothes" Stallworth. The guy can't play unless is 100% pain free. There is a reason why you got him for an okay MLB and a 4th round pick. The guy is great when he plays but that isn't often enough.

Sorry, honestly I was just lurking and wasn't going to post anything until the comment about the team moving to L.A. I live in the Philly area (but grew up in the New Orleans area) and am far from an Eagles hater. The only time I cheer against them is when it effects my beloved Saints. The move comment just struck a nerve. Good luck the rest of the year.
Has anyone Lee Harvey'd Mike Lewis yet?
This game was pretty much pathetic in all aspects. The Eagles offense seems to be totally inept at putting together an actual drive......and this has been going on much of the season but especially the last 2 weeks. They are relying strictly on the big play. I like seeing the throws deep down field but I'd also like to see this offense get out there once in a while and grind out a nice 60-70 yard drive and actually beat up the defense a little.
The defense didn't show up today. None of them. And it took a while but I'm now officially on the "Cut Mike Lewis" bandwagon. He is absolutely PATHETIC in pass coverage. This is 2 weeks in a row that he bit on a move that a WR made 15 yards infront of him. Last week it didn't bite him in the ass. This week it did. And I really don't care who you put in there to replace him either or just don't replace him at all. 10 players on defense is better than 11 player with Mike Lewis.
Ryan Moats - Kill yourself and take moats23 with you.
Akers made a FG. Yay.
Hank Baskett angered me today as well.
How many are you going to let bounce off of your hands, icehole?
No more appearing on FOX29 going to a salon and getting a farging pedicure. Catch de ball.
Yeah, but I simply can't be mad at an UDR and expect him to shoulder any blame for this loss. He's going to have his ups and downs. Last week = up. This week = down.
Reggie stepped up today though, so that's a good sign.
My biggest beef is with JJ and the defense. They simply got owned today.
Stop getting angry at anyone except the defense. Very little pressure & very little run D is a bad combo.
Oh, and they barely covered anyone either. The trifecta of crappy D!
And they didn't score any TD's either. Whats up with that?
Just watched the game. DVR, bitches.
1. First and foremost, a big farg you goes out to my boy Mike Lewis. Hellooo Sean Considine.
2. Offense looked pretty zesty, but all things told they put up 24 points on the scoreboard. Can't pin the loss on them, though it would have been nice to involve Westbrook more.
3. Punt Return farg up late in the first half cost them. God damnit.
4. When the hell is Donte Stallworth coming back? If I see Hank Baskett butcher another ball.....
5. Where the hell was the pass rush?
6. How many god damn times can they complete a dinky 5 yard pass between the linebackers or something out in the flats to Bush? Damn.
Despite that, it took a farg up of timeouts and a dumbass penalty to ultimatly lose the game. The two games we've lost, I've felt that we've beaten ourselves more than they other team has beaten us. It's probably better to do that than be manhandled throughout the game, no?
Should rebound against Tampa next week, then beat J-ville at home. 6-2 heading into the bye will be fine by me.
Keep in mind the Skins lost to the Titans at home, so...I don't feel as zesty as I did when Carney hit the FG.
Last I checked the Giants and the Cowboys won. Go back to feeling zesty.
JJ said it was Omar Gaither that didn't get off the field on that 12-man penalty...
Maybe it is just me, but the offensive line this year has been slightly disappointing. They aren't playing bad per se, but I expected them to a very good to a great offensive line. They have been playing good this year, but not much more than that. The last few games have had more sacks than I would have liked. Also in the last few games some of those sacks have taken the Eagles out of field goal range.
They have to shore this up.

Some of those sacks fall on McNabb's shoulders.
I agree with that, but there were also quite a few plays where McNabb avoided sacks by stepping up in the pocket or scrambling around. Overall, the protection needs to get better and the run blocking too. You never see any holes.
The offense played well enough to win.

I was thinking more the cigar. The opposing teams can light him up, and they keep -ing the Eagles with him.

What a difference a year can make in a year in the NFL. The Saints who were 3-13 last year are off to a great start. The Saints are now 5-1 and the Eagles are 4-2.
Eagles made to many mistakes in this game that kept them from winning. Offensive line didn't give McNabb the protection he needed. The receivers dropped balls that should have been caught. McNabb over threw on several pass plays. A muff on a punt that allowed the Saints to score. But the icing on the cake came on 3-10 at he Eagles 35 yard line. Darren Walker came around the corner and sacked Drew Brees for 7 yards driving them back to the Eagles 42 yard line and out of field goal range. Oh but wait there is a flag on the play, what's that you say the Eagles had 12 men on the field. Isn't that illegal? Yeah that's what I thought. The refs knew it was illegal also. A 5 yard penalty was marked off and no play meaning it was now 3-5 from the Eagles 30. Next play Brees threw a 7 yard pass to Mark Campbell leaving the ball at the Phila. 23 yard line. From there if your an Eagles fan your heart just sank because you knew this game was over.
The defense played poorly if not terrible much of the game. Michael Lewis in the backfield continued to play poorly and his position in the starting line up may be in jeopardy. In the press conference following the game Andy Reid was asked if Consadine would be replacing Lewis in the defensive backfield Reid answered "we'll see".
The offense played poorly in the first half, Hank Baskett dropping several deep thrown balls that came his way as well as other recivers dropping balls that shoudl have been caught.
The offense finally got it moving in the second half scoring 21 unanswered points. On the first drive of the second half it took and the Eagles 3 plays to get back into the game when McNabb threw to Reggie Brown who made a beautiful run after the catch for a 60 yard TD play.
The Eagles held the Saints on their next position. Once Phila. got the ball you could feel the momentum had changed and Phila was going to score again. Which they did 9 plays later on a 4 yard pass from McNabb to LJ Smith into the end zone. Eagles 17 Saints 17.
Saints got the ball back after the kick on their own 23 yard line. On 3rd down and 15 from the Saints 18 yard line Brees dropped back into the shotgun and threw the ball to Marques Colston, the ball was tipped put of Colston's hand into darren Walkers who returned the interception Saints 15 yard line. Next play Reggie Brown came from right to left to take a handoff from McNabb and scampered into the end zone giving the Eagles their first lead of the day. Eagles 24 Saints 17.
From there the Eagles fell apart. Just 5 plays later Drew Brees threw a deep pass for 48 yards to Joe Horn for a TD. Michael Lewis who was covering Horn is still looking to see were Horn went. Lewis was beat badly on the play. This play and others like it this season may have him sitting on the bench while the Eagles give Consadine a shot at Lewis's position.
Eagles got the ball back one more time in the half but were unable to move it downfield deep enough to get into scoring position. The saints got the ball back and then came the icing on the cake. Which I don't need to go into again.
The Eagles made way to many mistakes to win this game. They won't win games like this or any other games this year with this type of performance. Eagles this year except for last week seem to be only able to play one half of a game. Just so many times you can do that before it comes back to bite you, well you know where.
i didnt get to see the game but saw the highlights. as bad as they might have been on offense in the first half they did more than enough in the 2nd half to come up and tie and then take the lead. and this with our best WR out. im not going to complain about that but what was up with the d?
on the nbc highlight show collinsworth said something like they only blitzed one time in the first half...why? we know that sometimes u need a lil juice up the middle to pressure brees esp if the line isnt getting it done. dont give him time...just blitz...esp when u know if u dont he will pick the D apart. it makes no sense to me how we go from so blitz happy against a dallas team with better WRs and then to very lil blitzing against the saints.
defense cost us the game...there is no such thing as a perfect game and some players do mistakes here and there but this D, esp Lewis have been costing us games or getting damn close to it. something needs to change....still if we go into the bye at 6-2 ill be really happy. we need to finish with the 2nd best or best record in the NFC and i still think thats do-able.

Lewis is an embarrassemnt in coverage. Not much doubt about that. And Jones was his usual invisible self. Hey, let's get Lewis to play SLB and send Jones packing. Sure, I'm kidding.... :paranoid
Well, at least JJ agrees:
QuoteStrong safety Mike Lewis, who played well against the taterskins in a dime role lining up as a linebacker, did not seem interested in defensive coordinator Jim Johnson's assessment that Lewis could convert to full-time linebacker down the road. "I'm not a linebacker and we have capable guys here to play [linebacker]," Lewis said. He agreed that the experience was a useful one. Lewis will be an unrestricted free agent after the season...
Mike Lewis is, obviously, a moron.
I guess the team needs to get more DB's in the draft next year.
He should convert to full time LB. He'd be a fast LB, but still strong with a big body. THe problem is I don't think he has the size to play SLB, which is where we need help. McCoy has done well this year in the WLB role. Lewis has good size for a WLB, but SLB's usually need to be a little heavier.
Of course this is all for nothing since he doesn't want to play LB. He's a dumbass though, he'd probably do much better in that role.
I love him in run support. I hate him in coverage.

QuoteEagles finally make Lewis demotion official
By GEOFF MOSHER, The News Journal

PHILADELPHIA – It's been implied but had not been stated until today, when defensive coordinator Jim Johnson called safety Michael Lewis a "role player."
Lewis, a Pro Bowl selection in 2004, was a strong point on the defense when training camp opened in July and primed to receive a contract extension before becoming a free agent at the end of the season.
But he struggled in coverage early and often until he was eventually demoted after a loss to New Orleans. Reserve safety Sean Considine started the next game against Tampa Bay and hasn't since relinquished the starting job.
Johnson said Considine would likely remain the starter for the rest of the season while Lewis is primarily used in pass-rushing situations. In it's Friday edition, the New Journal will examine Lewis' fall from grace.
Find complete Eagles cover
Im guessing they got into a shouting match or something about the LB comment
I'm guessing he can't cover shtein and that's why his ass only plays in short yardage.

genius
oh how you pain me, ye old days of Blaine Bishop.
so whats everyones thoughts on considine? i think he's made some good plays and overall hasn't farged up too bad yet. he's def not afraid to lower the shoulder and sacrifice himself. is this the next timmy hauck? is he our starter for nxt few yrs?
He's not spectacular but he's fundamentally sound. That's what they need...a guy who can make the tackle, who doesn't always go for the big hit and form tackles guys to make sure they are down when he makes first contact. He is the starter at SS next season no doubt.
considine is a great special teamer that can be useful in certain defensive alignments...no way he should be a starting nfl safety
At least your opinion of his has moved up from no way he should be in the league like it was before...baby steps
Considine will never be a star. He seems to go about his business and make a few plays and is rarely out of position.
That said, the Eagles will need to replace Dawkins at SOME point also, so the safety position should be addressed whether they love Considine or not.
actually ive pimped him as a valuable player from the get....i said hed be a great special teamer and hopefully a solid back up saftey one day
