Lewis was shaking his head ruefully, obviously disappointed that Owens dropped the ball. Lewis was winding up to lay a heavy hit, and Owens was afraid. That play was my favorite TO-centric moment of the game.
That was a great moment, Lewis was ready to kill him. You could see TO slow up and look at lewis. The fans went crazy.

After he knocked the ball away and was heading back to the huddle, Shawn Barber motioned with alligator arms a few feet away...
TO's own antics worked against him in this game. He knew from what happened last year and some of the barbs he got in this week and during the year that the Eagles defense was going to lay himout if the chance arose. Perfect example was the play were he short armed the ball and saw Lewis.
Key to the game was the defense in the second half. Every expert and so called expert knew that if the defense got to Bledsoe what the result would be. Kudo's to the defense for getting done what everyone knew they had to do.
The reaction from Lewis was priceless. He wanted to break T.O.s other collar bone.

The problem is they are on the field entirely too long, probably because the offense scores too fast and they give up too many big plays on first and 2nd down. The Eagles defense has been on the field for the most amount of plays in the league this year, being on the field for 26 more plays than the NY Jets:

The Eagles, it seems, are giving up a lot of big plays on first and second down that lead to first down conversions and scores. That would account for the amount of yards given up, because the Eagles are pretty decent on third down yet give up a lot of yards. That's my theory at least. I don't have the yards they give up on first and second down, but because of all the stats I mentioned, I would imagine that it would be pretty high.

Actually, if you break it down marginally, they are performing at a consistent level. They are ranked #1 in total aggregate yards, and they are ranked #1 in yards per play (6.7 per attempt)

So, yeah, they are actually extremely efficient when broken down on a marginal basis.
And I never said that all this equates to a Super Bowl victory, just that I think the total defense and offense stats are misleading, and to get a more accurate picture you have to look at the marginal breakdown and determine if the Eagles are playing efficient football, and right now it seems like they are with a low yards allowed per play on the defensive side and a #1 ranking in the yards gained per play on the offensive side.

Don't get your panties in a bunch, IGY. I'm just offering some analysis. I offfered the same analysis on the offensive side, using the yards per play to determine how efficient the team actually is. It just so happens that the offense is racking up total AGGREGRATE (that means, whole, IGY) and yards, and they are efficient in their means in getting those yards by leading the league in yard per play.
You can put up straw men (that means misrepresenting someone's argument for the sake of making yourself look and/or feel better) as much as you want, but it just makes you look ridiculous.

It does seem the Eagles' defense is making more big plays in the form of turnovers than previous years. They (the defense) has at least gotta be scoring more.

Four of the five quarterbacks they've played were #1 overall draft picks. The other is a first ballot hall of famer and a Superbowl winner. They lead the league in sacks and forced fumbles. They have 11 takeaways which is tied for 5th in the league. They are allowing 335 yards per game.

I'm not using one play. I'm using the increase in looks/production that he has seen since Stallworth went down with injury. Or am I just imagining that? Not to mention he almost made anotheer great catch sunday, and only dropped it because when he came down the ball jammed into his stomach/ribs.

Agree. Well, I think his routes have been fine (besides coming back to the ball/QB, that mistake needs to be cut out) but the dropped balls are....ugh. I think the coaches should just have he and McNabb stand 5 yards away from each other and just McNabb gun the ball right at this face. He'll learn how to catch better, or he'll need a new face.

I'm not saying he isn't bad because of one catch. I'm saying he isn't bad because he has produced more and more each game, especially as his looks have increased. It just so happens that part of that production was a 80+ yard TD catch where he made the Cowboys FS his personal bitch, twice in one play. First by burning him and then slapping away his tackle like it was nothing.

Clearly he's more productive when he starts. Stallworth is averaging 0 catches in games that Baskett starts. With those #'s don't be surprised if Stallworth comes in off the bench when he's healthy.

3. He had a bad game. What player in the offense hasn't had a bad game yet (not named Donovan McNabb)? Certainly all the vets have, let alone the UDFA.
4. If Stallworth doesn't play this weekend, expect to see Hank get a lot of targets again as the #4 option in the offensive attack....Reid must really think he's no good, putting him out on the field like that. We all know how Reid plays his rookie WR's as much as possible... :yay
I repeat...Hank Baskett has been solid and has for hte most part produced when being given the looks to do it. He showed Sunday that while having promise, he is still a rookie and still liable to have mental break downs during a game. Yep...cut Hank. :D

The Eagles recievers are inexperianced outside of Stallworth who is hurt.
Baskett may or may not be a good player. Speaking in absolutes one way or the other smells like ass.
McNabb has played amazing but might choke in big games. Though I actually think the coaching staff chokes not McNabb. Homer away!

Yeah I'm a homer because I've observed that Hank has played well, especially for a UDFA, and has proven he has the ability to get open...something our friend IGY here doesn't want to believe.
I am never, ever critical of the team, and I think Hank BAskett is amazing. I really do. I've said it in every post I've posted about him. Just go ahead and read...IGY seems to find me saying that somewhere. ???
I think the team is pretty good, with probably its best group of non-TO WR's since they had Irving Fryar. Total homer right there.
All that being said....TO is a punk bitch, and I can't wait for him to again put up crappy numbers and complain about how it's the rest of the team and the coaches fault. :yay
