I just realized that in recent memory...the Eagles have had some great games or at least emotional rollercoasting wins (and a loss) against the Pack. Some memorable ones are of course:
The 4th and 26 game
That 5 TD performance a couple of seasons ago
That Monday Night battle the season before that (I think)
The Koy Detmer 'Whip dat ass' game....which we lost
The missed field goal about nine years back....
The Throw Back jersey game in which I believe we won about 10 years or so back
(that's all I can remember)
I realized that the Packers have had a major bill to pay as in having knocked out Randall Cunningham out for the season in the early 90's.
Never the less, it always is entertaining to play them no matter how bad or how good either of the teams are. Most likely this game should be in our favor. I expect a blowout this weekend on our part...but I'm sure we'll find a way to keep them in the game and perhaps give them more than one opportunity to help them win.
This has been an NFL moment with hbionic. Back to you.
P.S. You just had a moment with me. :-*
If you wanna take it further back we beat the Pack in 1960 for our last Championship. What else was so special about that team was that we were the only team to ever beat Lombardi in a playoff game.
SD, I'm gonna have to go out on a limb and say that the Championship was probably alot better than 4th and 26. Probably.
Anyone here go to that game by the way?
I was there in my past life.
By the way, the only other QB I know of that played for the Packers was Dan Majckewski(I know I spelled it wrong)...who was at the helm in the 70's and 80's?
nfl championships dont even count

Scott Hunter took over for Bart Starr in 1971. Jerry Tagge and Lynn Dickey were their other QBs during the 70's. Dickey played for the first half of the 80's.

Don't forget that the survival of the Lombardi curse (no, not THAT one) is once again on the line.
That missed FG was amazing. The place went absolutely nuts.

What exactly is it and how did it start?

Packers haven't won in Philly since 1962, when Lombardi ran up the score on an inferior Eagles team 49-0, as revenge for them handing him his only loss in a championship game.
Favre hasn't won in Philly in 5 tries.
Yep. It looked like the curse was in jeopardy a couple of years ago...when it was 4th and 26. :evil
Thanks Bobby. It's funny how google isn't very informed regarding the Lombardi Curse in its explanation and origin. May the curse live on!
...and we pray :evil
So....what is the William Penn curse? Something about a builiding being built higher than the statue? Does it apply to sports there in Philly or just life in general?

I had heard of the Lombardi curse...but forgot...it just doesn't come up in every day Eagles talk and as for Bill Penn, who really gives a farg, really.
I remember in 1997 when Longwell was lining up for a FG and all of a sudden it started raining. It had been sunny all day longbut it rains long enough for him to miss and then gets sunny again.

On television, I don't even remember that it rained. Interesting.
I remember the guy who caught the FG called WIP and said people were coming up to him and asking him if they could touch it. 9 years later people do that to me about my penis.

Probably because you have a huge one you stallion you.
Good Gawd, this is an NFL moment with hbonic!?!?! People touching penises??? And I didn't see any reference as to wether it was a man or a woman doing the touching. Just people, which opens the door rather wide. Let's hope that's all that's open wide with all the talk about touching penises.

Priests don't count.
For a second there...I thought all of the talk of the Lombary curse had jinxed it. Thank god for second halves. :paranoid
