Some pretty good games today.
Cincinnati travels to Pittsburgh to try to avenge their loss in the playoffs last year. This game has many sub-plots. Divison rivalry, Kimo von Oelhoefen (despite no longer in PIT) shredding Carson's knee, Cowher mocking the "Who Dey" chant and Lewis showing the video to the team, Chad Johnson vs. Joey Porter smack talking. And the Steelers are coming off of a shutout with Roethlisberger playing poorly.
Washington goes to Houston. The taterskins are reeling and the Texans want to get their first win under Kubiak.
The vaunted Bears defense faces the pedestrian but yet effective Minnesota offense. Both teams are 2-0.
Carolina and Tampa are both 0-2. The Panthers OL is in shambles, Delhomme has looked bad and their defense is not playing well either. The Bucs look even worse especially Chrissy Simms. I am rooting for Tampa because I want Carolina in a deep hole.
Jacksonville goes to Indianapolis. The Colts are missing Bob Sanders, Adam Vinatieri, Corey Simon and Brandon Stokely. They signed Martin Gramatica to kick for them this week. Jacksonville is coming off that great defensive performance against Pittsburgh. Is Matt Jones going to play? Can the Jags get pressure on Peyton?
Did last weeks miracle win really wake up the Giants? Will Shaun Alexander finally get on track? Will the Seattle crowd help cause 11 false starts again this year? Will Jeremy Shockey look like a fool again as Jay Feely misses a FG in OT?
FOX just showed Chad Johnson and Joey Porter shouting at each other during warmups... :-D
I'm looking forward to the Bengals stomping the Steelers. That embarrassment on Monday night last week was the only thing that saved me from a whole week of getting my balls broken about the Eagles game.
taterskins penalty on opening kickoff...
Portis gets stuffed on a 3rd and 1.
Texans ball.
Panthers pick off Sims then Delhomo to Meshawn and its 7-0 like 3 seconds in.
Carr to Andre Johnson for 53 yards down to the 2yd line!! :-D
Archuleta got smoked. :-D
Jags drive right down the Colts' throat. Leftwich takes it in for the score. 7-0 Jax.
Carr TD pass to Mark Bruener.
7-0 Texans!
No problems for the Steelers. Quick drive for a TD.
Another penalty on the kick return by WAS.
Another handoff to Portis. 4 in a row.
3rd round pick insurance guy TJ Duckett is inactive.
And they handoff to Portis for the 5th straight time - 3rd and long coming up.
Brunell shovel passes to Portis.
He runs forever and ever. All the way down to the 13 yard line. 74 yard play.
Betts runs it in for a TD.
7-7 tie ballgame.
Skins actually score a TD. Wow.

Carr to Andre Johnson for 53 yards down to the 2yd line!! :-D
That really sucks. I started Johnson in my money league, where points are only given for scores (and the points are determined by distance).
Why does Tennessee even try to throw the ball? Collins is 0-3 with a pick already.
The Texans gave up 74 yards on a shovel pass? Wow... That's bad.
Bengals are sucking up the joint so far. Great job of talking shtein about the Steelers before you play them. Dumbasses.
Holy shtein the Texans suck.
So do the Bucs
Down 17-0 to the Panthers already
You sound surprised... Speaking of suckage, Chris Simms is currently 1 for 6 for 9 yards and a pick. Talk about making a living based on your name.

Season is 49/92, 0 TDs, 7 INT.
The Bucs got their first TD of the season. I'm sure Mom Simms is very proud.
Looks like the Skins have unveiled a 5th page of their playbook. Superbowl!
Brunell is 15/15 :o
21-7 Skins
Its obvious the Texans only have one drive in them per game - the opening drive.
Make that 16/16.
Most of the comp's are the bubble screen variety because he cannot throw it deep.
Holy shtein the Dolphins suck.
They can't do shtein!
I took them in my suicide pools.
I heart the Steelers run game. Willie Parker is a stud.
Big Ben has all day throw, he launches a bomb, too short picked off by Deltha O' Neil.
Brad Johnson also launched a bomb, into double coverage, and got it to his man. Except the receiver got called for interference.
Chris Simms runs it in.
Bucs have taken the lead.
CAR could review the play - did Simms get in? Let's see...can't really tell.
Doesn't matter...no flag thrown by Fox.
TB leads 21-20
How many excuses will the national media come up for the Panthers if they go 0-3? They can't have their darlings playing this bad.
They're still in shock about Tagliabue's retirement.
Just a reminder that SI's Super Bowl teams were Carolina and Miami. :)
The Pitt-Cincy game has turned into a game of who will make the least mistakes. Palmer's sucking ass and getting drilled on nearly every pass attempt. Big Ben is overrated.
Edit: And Pitt just turned it over again. Cincy's ball... this game is turnover central.
Edit #2: T.J. Whosyurmama just made a hell of a grab for a TD following the turnover. Cincy up 28-17 (the last two TDs coming directly off Pitt turnovers).
How many turnovers are there gonna be in this Steelers-Bengals game?
rex groosman int. for TD. rex came back in and is driving down the field. im waiting for a screw up. wow. another completion.
BTW Childress runs the ball :boom
Lavernous Coles rules. This is all.
Fittingly, Big Ben throws a pick to end the game.
Did you notice that Brunell went 21/21 before his first incompletion today?
Gamecenter said 22/22 when I stopped paying attention.
Oh? Whatshisname said only 21/21.
Alexander just scored on the vaunted Giants D.
Houston blows... they've been so bad they don't even get regional consideration for their games here. After halfway through the second season the networks couldn't subject the viewers to their suckage anymore and took to showing CBS' top games instead. Houston's horrible. Nice stadium though.

That's an NFL record.
SUPERBOWL!
In other news, Roy Williams prognosticating fails again since the Lions lost yet again.
Deion Branch just made his first catch, and the crowd gave him a huge cheer.
Eli Manning is stinking up the place today. 3/9 with 3 INTs.
Seahawks are kicking ass. Giants are showing to most of the nation that the Eagles should have won last week.
The Giants are awful. It's embarrasing that the Eagles lost to the Giants.
FOX is showing all the scores again during the Eagles game.

I said last week that it was a fluke that comeback. The garbage TD from the fumble and other stuff like that. It was a complete fluke. The Eagles dominated them MORE than half of that game. They were the better team in that game.
They should have dominated for the whole game, then. Let it go.

Yes, I know that. Thanks. ::)
Both the Giants and Seahawks might as well bench their starters now, avoid injury.

You can start any time you like. :)
Plaxico is on the sideline for the Giants' last gasp drive at the end of the first half.
Jay Feely's 4 points from his FG sure helped. A Tiki Barber garbage time TD could also do. But otherwise, I'm pleased.
The refs need to jump in there and stop this game. It's like an NFL team playing against a high school team at this point.
As bad as the Eagles are beating the 49ers, it doesn't compare to what the Seahawk are doing to the Giants.
Baltimore came back to win 15-14, so they're 3-0 now
Arizona is down 16-14 but driving for the winning FG
The Seahawks are looking like they needed all of those 42 points.
Was really disappointed to see the Ravens win. Losing to the Browns would have tarnished the reputation of that defense.
Kurt Warner fargs up again. Cards lose.
I can't believe they lost that game. Warner fumbled on 1st down inside the 20, Rams recovered...
I really don't like P!nk. That intro song is vomit inducing :puke
I think Pats roll in this one. Lets go Marony! Get me some fantasy pts!
I don't mind Pink but that song sucks. Oh and that Football Night in America is crap too. They never should have got rid of the ESPN Sunday night show. The clods on NBC are brutal.

Agree 100%. There's no flow and everyone on the entire show is flat, much like the Eagles 2nd half offense. Please ban me, I have nothing to contribute. ZInG ZaMMo!!11!
Blame Reid
Javon Walker makes a sweet grab for TD. Fantasy pts awarded to me...finally
Vernon Davis out 4 weeks with a fracture in his leg.

If you have NFL Network then check out their NFL Gameday show if you are still up. It comes on at about 11:30/12:00 and is an hour and a half. Extensive highlights and Eisen is always great. He does the highlights very well. Almost as good as Berman. Deion Sanders is much better than he was on CBS, thankfully.
1. Manning can win all the "big" regular season games he wants. He's a choker and he's not winning shtein in the playoffs. Let the media build the Colts up and suck his balls some more, it won't matter in the end.
2. Roy Williams needs to shut the farg up. They just lost to Greg Jennings and the Packers. At home.
3. How did the Bucs win the division last year? They are terrible.
4. Miami sucks and I need a new fantasy QB.
5. farg Pittsburgh.
6. J.P. Losman blows.
7. Ohmigod I'm so esacred of the Ravens defense.
8. Grow a pair of balls and take a chance, Brad Johnson.
9. The Giants should now be 0-3. Damnit.
10. Let the countdown to Matt Leinert's first start begin.

There is not a drip of truth in this post. Do not believe this man
Is anyone watching the officiating in the NE vs Denver game? Some horrible calls. Pats looking pretty bad...
Peyton Manning is of course a notorious choker in the playoffs, but as an Eagle fan I am quite silent on the issue lest someone point out the playoff performances of certain other teams and/or quarterbacks.

There is nothing BUT truth in the above post. Absolutely believe this man. (mussa)
GameDay is tolerable enough... whenever Eisen isn't stumbling all over the highlights... and Deion isn't trying to talk all over everyone else... which is all the time. Sanders is nothing but Michael Irvin on the NFL Network... being the absolute best TO apologist that he can be.
NO...NVR!
11 quarters into the season and Denver still hasn't allowed a TD.
As for the Ravens, their opponents' W-L record is a combined 0-8...
LB on denver just puked a river on the field
i luv me sum j. walker
My comfortable lead in my money is league is down to 13 points. farging Walker better shut it down.

You're entitled to your opinion.
Bout time Walker made a play though. He was having a brutal first 2 games.
no shtein
Thoughts on sunday:
1. Carolina finally gets a win and boy was it ugly. I don't think 1-2 is a fluke. They didn't play all that great on sunday even with Steve Smith. They are a solid team, but nowhere near Superbowl contenders right now. They won't be later in the season either unless they make major strides. Tampa is just bad.
2. Miami sucks and so does Culpepper. They could really use Feeley right now, because turning to Harrington as your backup is not something Miami fans should be looking forward to. Almost losing to the Titans at home is an absolute disgrace. Kerry Collins is about as bad as it gets.
3. The Vikings have a better defense than I expected. Granted, the Bears aren't an offensive powerhouse, but they have been doing a good job so far this season. Taylor is playing well for them too on offense.
4. Cinci is the best team in the AFC right now and maybe the NFL. The Steelers aren't even close to the same team as last seasdon. They lost swagger, they lost discipline, and they lost their QB. He is not playing well.
5. The Giants suck. People talk about the Eagles only being able to play 3 quarters, well the Giants can only play one quarter well.
6. The Jets are playing much better than I expected. They didn't face the toughest of opponents yet, but have played well so they get the credit.
7. Brand new year. Same old Warner. Same old Cardinals.
8. The Pats Superbowl contending run looks to be over. I'll never fully count them out until the end, because Brady is Brady, but it sure seems to be over. They have the worst receiving corps in the NFL and Brady just doesn't seem like Brady. He is pissed about that Branch trade.

I'm never silent on the issue. And it's not about glass houses and stones, or the color of pots and kettles.
And nothing that any "certain other teams and/or QBs" have done will ever change the fact that
P. Manning is the biggest choke artist in the NFL today. I don't know of any team through the same span of time that had a QB putting up even close to the kind of numbers Manning did that never made it to the Big Game. It has also been said that P. Manning has had one of the best RB/WR/TE combos in the entire league. And Manning himself has averaged more than 4000 yds and 27TD passes each year that he's been in the league. And to blame EVERY playoff loss on a "crap defense" is disingenuous. If the offense is so "potent," in a close game a crap defense doesn't matter.
Last year the Colts started 13-0 and ended their season watching "yet another team" keep them out of the Super Bowl. Since people like to blame losses by "certain teams" on "certain QBs," I see no reason why this standard should not apply to Peyton as well. No SB appearances...at all - even with HFA and New England knocked out by another team. Sad.
Look for more of the same this year.
Catapult
Wow. Catapult really has some strong feelings about Peyton Manning. I'm not sure why or how you could care that much.

Denver has owned New England for a long time now. The real test will be seeing the Patriots against some other good teams. I agree that their receiving corps sucks, but Tom Brady won three Super Bowls before becoming anything close to the NFL's leading passer like he was last year. What they really need is a better running game. The potential is there with Maroney, let's see if it develops.
Between Maroney and Dillon they HAVE a good running game. But teams can key on it because they have less than zero ability on the outside in their passing game. A new starter who sucks ass (Caldwell) a geriatric (Brown) a rookie (Jackson) and a brand new player who's been with the team less than 2 weeks (Gabriel). They have no chemistry and they should lose to good teams until they develop some.
I read a Boston sports message board and they are in full on meltdown, Brady-bashing mode right now. I LOVE it.

i'm anxious to see how much piss is still going to be on the field at the superdome tonight.
I'm a Saint fan tonight.
I'm a Katrina fan tonight.
Saints ... BLOCKED PUNT FOR A TD!!
Father Time kicks a short FG and is booed the whole time for it.
7-3 Saints.
Apparently the pig fargers on Park Ave just added video ads to their (otherwise excellent) GameCenter applet. Yesterday, no ads. Tonight, ads. They seem to pop in after a drive ends.
I guess Kurt Warner's fumble cost him the starting job, Leinart is scheduled to start according to the Bottom Line.
i love the failure that is Vick right now. I love it. I love it. i hate the falcons. they are getting their asses handed to them at half-time. come on NO, keep it up.
Couldn't agree more. I'm absolutely lovin' this.
20 to farging 3! :-D
Sean Peyton obviously read the Andy Reid Guide to Clock Management
Falcons = Owned.
Yes. The beatdown is complete. 23-3. :yay
