Title: Bill Burr loves Philadelphia
Post by: Diomedes on September 12, 2006, 08:16:48 PM
whoever he is (http://gorillamask.net/billburrphilly.shtml)

QuoteAfter becoming the third straight comic to get booed mercilessly during an "Opie and Anthony's Traveling Virus" show in Philly, Bill Burr refuses to leave the stage early.  Instead, he uses the last 11 minutes of his set to UNLOAD on the city of Philadelphia.

audio ain't great, but I love this guy.

A buddy of mine showed me this today, asking if I "had the balls to listen to the entire 10 minutes."

Like the guy was preahing the gospel, and it was all dark secrets I never heard before.    ::)

I told him if the comics didn't suck, they wouldn't have gotten boo'd....

He made me laugh in places, and I admire his spirit.

Yeah you did.  If not at him, then at the crowd or someone in it.

Honestly I didn't. I am disappointed that they weren't pelting him with debris.

Ditto..  The only reason I wasted 10 minutes on that was hoping someone either nailed him with a beer bottle or rushed the stage and bloodied him up.

THEN....  I woulda laughed.

Stand up = not funny...

Unless you're Sarah Silverman. Then I'll laugh at anything to distract people from my erection.

mercilessly booed??

99% of the crowd was cheering him as they were supposedly getting dissed...probably cause they were all Hoydas from burlington township....losers

and rjs is right...stand up comedy is about as unfunny as you can get...only thing worse are drive time radio show hosts

Stand up used to be funny. Eddie Murphy's old tapes are still a freaking riot even if we all know them by heart. Nobody does funny like that anymore.

Lewis Black does a good show.

Lewis Black does have a good stand up act.  There's a few guys out there who are still good stand ups....

Dave Chappelle, Greg Giraldo and Rodney Carrington are about the most recent I've seen perform, but none later than 2004.  But it's still fairly recent though.
