the only mildly surprising parts of the overall rankings was how low Pittsburgh was (21) and how low Chicago was (27)

im thinking pittsburgh is low because their winning makes them very easy to support

i have no explanantion for chicago

I was surprised that Oakland came in last.  Half the hoodlums I see kickin' it on a street corner are wearing Raider gear.

Maybe they account for team stuff sold, and not team stuff stolen.

The Steelers' attendance over the period analyzed was only 94% of capacity. There's a lot more variation depending on the team's performance than there is in Philadelphia.

That being said, I've lived here for a year and it's a tremendous football town. It shows how questionable these rankings are. I don't disagree with the top three, however.
