Oh yes, it's FOOTBALL TIME! ;D
Whoa, the Eagles play today?
Eventually.
Who gives a F trivia: Houston is wearing white/white for the first time ever in a regular season game.
That's going to throw a wrench in Reid's plan to have his players wear white/white.

Texans 27 Eagles 10- My Humble Prediction
Shteinbag.
Glew4MVP. :deion
Lundy with 1 yard on his first carry.
Hey, Trotter didn't get thrown out!
Cook with the reception for 1 yard. Tackled by the retard.
McCoy pushed Mike Flanagan over for no reason.
Nice play by Trotter.
3rd and 9, hurray Tito.
Nice pass Carr to Putzier
Crap
Tito lets the TE run right down the field.
Two consecutive first downs for Carr. In a row.
Get Lundy.
Lundy with back to back carries for very little.
So this year our run defense is awesome and our pass defense sucks? Bizarro world.
Carr was ruled down before the fumble and short of a first down.
Shtein. What the farg. Seriously.
Carr picks up the first on the fourth down sneak.
1st DOWN on the QB sneak ;D
Shtein. McCoy knocked the farg out of David Carr. That would have been sick if it was playaction.
Lewis tackles Lundy for three. Blitz takes out Carr for the hell of it.
Walk-in TD for the Texans.
What the farg.
:boom That's not good.
Rock and Roll
TOUCHDOWN HOUSTON
Carr to Moulds
XP by Brown
7-0 Texans
But hey, Mike Lewis doesnt suck in coverage.
hmm
The defense is in midseason form, already rolling over on the first drive. :yay
ahhhhhhhh that sucks!
Someone get me a beer ....
Get your own beer.
Perry takes the kickoff to the 21.
Time for the Texan Defense to show its stuff
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
:boom :boom :boom
Johnson better start kicking some tail. That was awful.

Puncuation marks are too final. I don't like endings.
Little John for 11.
McNabb throws it behind LJ, but he gets a first down anyway.
That's better. :yay
Cut Buck.
Dumpoff to Buck, loss of 1. Love this dedication to the running game so far.
Loss of a yard on that one
Westbrook tackled for a loss with two lead blockers. Woo.
Demeco has a lot of talent.
ROLL TIDE ROLL.
3rd and Long for Eagles.
3rd and long. Great.
The Eagles farging suck ass.
Hey, theres always next year.
Dropped interception. Here comes Diggler.
And now the Eagles must punt. ;D
Wish Mathis wa the return man
Clipping. 10 yard penalty. Good play by the Eagles.
The Great Brown Hope still hasn't learned to come back for the ball.
Reid should have only used 2% of the playbook in preseason like the coaching angel.
you can listen to the game for free http://www.wmgm1037.com
Totally new DL this series.
Great Play by Carr to get it to AJ
Carr with a little pressure, rolls right and throws for an easy first down.
Sheldon with a nice shoelace tackle for a loss on that run.
Oh good, Tito is hurt. Wind burn, probably.
Why is Frito on the cart?
First incompletion. Putzier is inconsistant
Texans farg it up by running on 3rd and 12 when they were eating the defense alive with the pass.
Hood in for Lito, Lito's getting X-rays on (I think) the ankle.
Westbrook on punt return. Gets four yards.
BWest as punt returner.
Bad Drive, but it is still 7-0 ;D
What's up with Lito?
It's time to deflate the crowd a bit. Eagles need to show something on this drive.

I hope the Jags beat dallas
Nice false start by every single WR and TE.
Westbrook called for a false start.
#1 wost manneans.
Buck picks up 8 up the middle. Cut him.
Buck with a good 8 yard run, broke NUMBA 1 Mario Williams' tackle.
HOLD THEM TEXANS
Nice catch for Stallworth. 23 yards.
Dang. Good pass by McNabb
Dante!!
Stallworth with 23 yard catch. McNabb should have ran. Farging shteinface penis licker.
Sadly, holding was not called on the Texans.
I'm liking the beginning of Stallworth's career with the Eagles.
SIMMONS WITH THE INTERCEPTION ;D
Interception for Simmons.
STOP fargING SUCKING.
That Sucks.
Uh oh.
That was a hell of a pick, he knocked it down with one hand.
Yeah, but it was still a bad decision by McNabb. Whoever he was throwing to was surrounded by at least 4 white jerseys.
Come on, McNabb.
Would have been nice to see him take off on that one.
See you fargers at halftime.
Bad Decision!
The screen pass isn't working. Carr needs to go over the top to AJ or Moulds
White LB's suck.
McCoy takes out the screen for a loss of 5.
Run for a one yard loss.
So, just getting here for the game... what the hell happened to the offense?
4-1-6 defense on the third down there.
Nice stop for the D ;D
Dawkins with a good job of stopping the receiver instead of missing on a tackle.
Punt time again. Need to throw it deep
Give up those short passes on 3rd and 16. I still get the 1 point for the reception by Johnson. ;D

Great play by the safety.
This team has looked like hot steamy moose poo in the first quarter. But have no fear, it's all part of Coach Reid's plan to not show his hand until it's too late.
Westbrook bobbles the long punt but gets back to the 20.
Nice return by Westy after bobbling the punt.
Nope, only got to the 15. Dang.
OK, lets stick it into the endzone!
Westbrook with the catch for ten yards.
Nice play there... what's up with the receivers. Damn TV coverage can't see anything downfield.
Westbrook catches a worm burner!
Tapeh sighting.
Buck picks up another 8 yards. First down. Cut Buck.
DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE
Guys Buck does look good... ;)
Westy+Buck= :D
Westy picks up 5 from the shotgun handoff.
Well, it would seem so far that Reid is legitimately trying to run the ball so far.
Gotta catch those Reggie...
Greggie fights for a first down.
GLew sighting.
I use that play when I use the Eagles in Madden. :deion
Does the offense look as smooth as it sounds on the radio this drive?
I wouldn't call that fighting for a first. :D
beautiful fake by mcnabb.,,.....flag on the play
Dang. TD Eagles >:(
OMG that was the best ball fake I've seen in years!
Touchdown stands. Fargin' beautiful!
Eagles TD!
Yes the O is looking great on this drive... TD stands! DANTE!!!!!
TOUCHDOWN!!!!
Baldinger is right, that was a great fake by McNabb.
STALLWORTH!
What a PA fake.
That was a great fake!
Im happy McNabb realized good playaction fakes r awsum. Again, see you fargers at halftime.
EDIT - Also, outside of the first drive the Eagles are beating the farg out of Houston.
Perfectly executed play. That's what I'm farging talking about. It's amazing how well the play action works when you actually run the ball.
Its not over yet. Wait til Houston puts Rosenfels in. Then the Eagles will learn what its like to be completly dominated by the other team
Each drive is getting a little better than the one before it. Somehow, they're going to manage to score 2 TDs on the next one.
Dante!! Who was that number one receiver we had last year....what was his name? Ahhh who cares Dante!!
That was a beautiful pass too... Now that's how they should have started the first drive. That was a thing of beauty.
aside from the pick and houstons first drive we are doing awesome. but then again thats 2 drives out of the 1st qrt and thats not good.
on that pick mcnabb should have scrambled out.

Those 43 yards will rack up nicely in my distance scoring league. 8)

Dante also ran a sweet route. Half-assed it like it was a run then put the burners on downfield.

It was a nicely executed drive. Good runs by west and buck, good blocking from the line and sans one low pass from mcnabb (that westy scooped up and gained a few yards with), pretty acurate passes.

McNabb threw into quadruple coverage because he locked in on Reggie the whole play. But it was still a lucky grab. He made up for it though. There was no one within 10 yards of Dante on that play.
GF should be happy with Tapeh. That was a nice catch, took it almost right off the turf, and actually got yards after the catch. Who knew FBs could be used in an offense? Besides like 15 teams.

I really cant be on this board when the Eagles are playing. Superstitions are stupid as farg, but they got the shtein beaten out of them on the first drive, had a bad first offensive drive, I left, they did well, came back on, interception. Same stuff happened last year. I Left, then the score is 14-3 since.
McNabb looks pretty good. Made a few bad throws. One hell of a playaction.
RBs look good, when they're given the ball.
L.J looks real good. That was one hell of a catch.
Stallworth looks awesome. He probably should have had that second deep ball. On that diving catch, if McNabb hit him in stride it could have probably been 35 yards instead of 23.
Defensive line is so so. They've gotten a shteinload of pressure on their sacks, but are almost non-existant on the other plays.
McCoy looks really good. TFL, FF and crushed Carr on a playaction.
Trotter is as usual. Awesome against the run, worthless otherwise.
Anyone NOT notice Rod Hood? That's good. I havent seen them throw his way.
What the hell happened to Sheldon?
Mlew sucks in coverage but is one of the best in the box safeties in the league.
Dirk is real good.

Superstitions are stupid as farg, but they got the shtein beaten out of them on the first drive, had a bad first offensive drive, I left, they did well, came back on, interception. Awsome all the way around. Well, besides the bar across the street from NOT BEING OPEN ON A FREAKIN SUNDAY FOOTBALL AFTERNOON.
Now that the game is over, I'll worry about what a decent offense will do to this defense, especially without Tito in there.
bruce perry looked like doodie on returns.
lower head, run straight, repeat.
I hate having nothing to complain about. I just want to call WIP and whine, but I can't. Booooooooooo.
Whine about the second half clock management. Whine about McNabb's inaccuracy. Whine about Koy getting cut.
Whine about the board being not being down that often which doesn't give us anything to whine about.
Whine a bout Sassy getting banned.
I mean I could whine about the bar being closed on a football sunday. Does that make any sense? What the hell. Oh well, I still had 15 wings. And I'm full.
Whine about GF hiding behind his admin priviledges.

His heart's not in the game because we cut Jabar. All hail Joselio Hanson.
This thread is almost up to 640 posts... you all need a life.
my only gripe is i don't feel good about bruce perry returning kicks, punts or having the ball in his hands period. i just think fumble everytime he touches the rock. :-\
who has more INT's... the 2006 Eagles or Haloti Ngata. darn.
wrong website
who has more tackles, McCoy or IGY.
McCoy played great today. I was very impressed.
Some thoughts on the game:
1. McNabb looked great after a bit of a slow start. I won't put all the blame of that INT on him. He was accurate, patient, smart, moved around well and scrambled only when he needed to. How can people constantly trash this guy? Oh yeah, they don't know football, that's why.
2. Stallworth. What can you say? 6/141/1 TD. Great first game.
3. After a bad first defensive series, the defense looked very good. A couple of plays you'd like to have back, but the other teams make plays too. You can't always hold teams to nothing unless you are playing the Packers. Losing Lito worries me a bit even though I think Hood is the better player. Simply for depth reasons. I hope he won't be out long, but Andy's voice didn't sound like they felt good about it.
4. The LBs played very well. Dhani Jones didn't stand out, but that's a good thing. Usually when he stands out, it's not in a good way. Trotter, and McCoy did stand out. This is Trott's defense now, not Dawk's anymore.
5. Very good blocking from the offensive line. Especially the interior. McNabb had a cozy pocket to throw in all day. Didn't need to roll out and right into a corner rusher.
6. LJ Smith is looking sharp. Let's hope he keeps it off and doesn't pull a 2005.
7. We need a punt returner and a kick returner. Westbrook is a great PR, but obviously it's not in the long-term plans to keep him back there. I don't know what's up. We haven't had a good returner since Thrash left. Is it the players or did the scheme just suddenly go to shtein? We used to be great in that department.
8. Great play calling by Reid today. He mixed and matched and did everything right at the right time. We finally ran a great 2 minute offense at the end of the first half. We finally were able to run the ball out at the end of the game.
9. Buckhalter is back. He's one of my favorite Eagles, so I'm very happy for him.
Good game folks

Dillen37 for Post of the year nominee under the 'Funny' Category.
I just finished watching the whole game again (in 20 minutes on "Shortcuts" - farging awesome), and some thoughts:
Offense:
--Reggie Brown is not all the way there yet. This team would be HOSED without Stallworth. There were 3 plays in the game that Brown left on the field.
--For all we hate on Greg Lewis and Correll Buckhalter, they both came up big - Lewis had a key catch and short run for a 1st down on the first TD drive and two 1st downs on the clock-milking drive at the end of the game, and Buckhalter ran with power and looked solid. I haven't looked at the stats yet, but he was bigger than his stats in this one.
--Tapeh looked good - the added dimension of his speed to the FB position was huge, especially on Westbrook's TD.
--L.J. Smith makes a big difference as a receiver. Some really, really nice plays.
--McNabb was pretty damn accurate, with a few exceptions. Can't complain.
--Stallworth was a best-case scenario. The trade for him was HUGE.
Defense:
--None of the penalties were awful or blatant. Timing was slightly off, but they were erring to the side of aggressive. Fine.
--The exception is Trotter's unnecessary roughness penalty, which was just stupid. He didn't even get a good hit on the guy, but it was obviously after he was down. Very stupid.
--Mike Lewis was all around the ball, but should have made a play on the TD to Moulds. He was there and made a mistake.
--In other mistake news, Sheldon Brown one-on-one against Andre Johnson was not a great idea... but considering how many times they did get to Carr or cause an incompletion with the blitz, I'll give them a pass. I do think Brown should have tried harder to keep Johnson in front of him.
--It's very interesting how they tended to rotate the DL. It was mentioned during the telecast also. We all knew they'd rotate, but it was a surprise that they literally rotated the 1st team complete line with the 2nd team complete line... and you know what? The 2nd team made more plays, but both got consistent push.
--Give Carr some credit. 4 years of getting sacked a ridiculous amount of times (and he's now on pace to be sacked 80 times this year) taught him how to escape. Except for the one time he fell down, the Eagles earned their sacks by getting to him very quickly from the edge.
--Matt McCoy plays angry, but he really didn't make any dumb mistakes. Not a lot of "big" plays by the LB's, but they were good against the run and adequate against the pass.
--Considine made some nice plays, including the batted ball on 4th down.
Special Teams:
--Bruce Perry does not do a good job following his blocks and tends to run right into tacklers. Not good at KR.
--The coverage teams looked fired up and played smart. Greg Lewis contributed here too.
--Got lucky on Akers' FG, but the more chances Dirk gets to put it down, the better he'll be.
Texans:
--Mario Williams should not have been the #1 pick. He looked like a poor man's Darren Howard. Yes, he's still a rookie and has to learn, but this team really could have used Reggie Bush.
--Speaking of Bush, the Texans' RB's suck. A lot. Sure, the Eagles deserve some credit for slowing the running attack, but meh.
--Johnson and Moulds are a great tandem at WR and will win some games for this team.
--It would seem like overall, the team is very average. Not awful. They should sweep the Titans at worst, and I'll say it right here... I think this is the year they first beat the Colts.
One gripe about Reggie Brown...last year I saw it too, but chalked it up to rookie mistakes. He has a big problem coming back to the ball and running the right routes. He's still doing it this year. He has GOT to learn to get to where the ball is.
Like I said, it's a good thing he's a #2 WR and not a #1.
businesslike performance...the eagles did everything they ahd to do to beat a opathetic team and they did it with ruthless efficiency...i dont much stock on the win just like i dont put much stock on the giants losing to the colts...one thing that i was happy to see and is that a healthy donovan mcnabb is the best qb in the nfc much less the nfc east and that alone puts the eagles right up there with everyone else in the division....sunday is huge more so with a win than a loss...if they lose its certainly not over but a win + the first half schedule they have = a chance at very good things
that being said i think they will lose...unless the defense is a lot better than i think it is and they dominate
the team that needs to be most concerned is dallas....their offensive line is as bad as advertised...flozell adams simply cant play right now and hes the only talent on the line...and its been said before many a time but it really is amazing how incompetant bledsoe is if he has any defender within a three yards of him
Everyone cares, so here are my observations:
- Andy Reid ran the ball and ran the ball effectively. I believe there were 36 called passes (one scramble) and 26 called runs (plus three kneel-downs). 42/58. That ratio isn't great but since the running game was effective I'm happy with it. Against a better defense I don't think it would have been as effective.
- McNabb looked mobile. And mostly accurate. Mostly.
- I hold my breath every time Buckhalter touches the ball. And I think I always will. But he looked good.
- Stallworth was as advertised, but let's be honest, that TD was a fluke. No one on the Eagles will ever be that wide open for a 40+ yard TD bomb ever again. Ever. Hyperbole.
- The defensive line really is 10-deep. farging Juqua Thomas got a sack. best part of the team.
- Who's Trent Cole?
- Everyone's talking about McCoy but I didn't really see anything that knocked my socks off. I think we're just so used to ineptitude than mediocre play makes us moist.
- Bruce Perry looked awful. Running in a straight line directly at the first opposing player to make it downfield is not a good way to break off good returns.
- The secondary isn't as good as we wish they were.
Stallworth was as advertised, but let's be honest, that TD was a fluke

It was extremely well executed, but leaving a WR that open, even on a play action pass that was well sold, is unlikely to ever happen again.

He's saying that the next time they run that play, Stallworth will not be
that wide open again. Meaning he will only have the DB beat by 10 yards instead of 20.
He's optomistic like that.
Buckhalter ran 8 times for 50 yards - a 6.3 ypc average.
Westbrook ran 17 times for 71 yards - a 4.2 ypc average (but he also caught 4 passes for 61 and a TD).
Without McNabb's kneeling at the end, the team averaged over 4.5 ypc. Not bad.

Hey, but according to ES, the Eagles have absolutely NO running game so they will still end up in the tank this season, after being swept by the Giants, Cowboys and SKins.

He had one opportunity to make a play and didn't. That was actually a nicely-thrown ball from Donovan, but Baskett couldn't get himself unlocked from the defenders enough to make a play on it.
but Baskett couldn't get himself unlocked from the defenders enough to make a play on it.
thats cause they werent quite close enough to the end zone to let him use his body to his advantage...the more he has to run the less chance for him to make a play....hes really a inside the ten corner fade route endzone guy
I don't think it was a play out of his realm of ability to make. I just think he didn't use all his ability to make it.
You could be right, though. Either way, Greg Lewis was easily the 2nd best WR on the team yesterday, and it's a damn good thing that Andy and Heckert made the deal for Stallworth.
on another topic did anyone notcie how incredibly biased baldinger is towards the eagles...he should not be allowed to do eagle games and i would have thrown up if i were a texans fan watching that yesterday
He didnt even try to deny that he hangs out in southphilly all the time. I didnt mind but if i was an opposing team i would have gotten really tired of that ish.
yeah i love it...but its completely unprofessional and i am surprised fox allows it

OT: BTW, anyone else think that Childress is ecstatic to be out from Reid's shadow? Did you hear the quotes about bloodying noses and quantity > quality in the running game? Minnesota ran the ball over 50% of the time last night, and that final drive was a thing of beauty.

QuoteOh Ye Mortals, Trifle Not with the Football Gods: Few football-game scenes are more ridiculous than when a defender dances and struts after a routine play. On Sunday in the Texans-Eagles game, David Carr simply slipped and fell down; Philadelphia defender Trent Cole one-hand-touched Carr to end the play. Cole then jumped up and danced as if he'd just won the Heisman Trophy. Excessive defender dancing may tempt the football gods to exact vengeance.
I noticed that too. I understand celebrating the sack he earned, but the other one was just a little superfluous.
