QuoteA Flurry Of Moves For Eagles
August 30, 2006
The Eagles have made a flurry of moves on Wednesday, waiving wide receiver Todd Pinkston and quarterback Koy Detmer, and agreeing to terms on a two-year contract with quarterback A.J. Feeley. The roster now sits at 73 players, pending Feeley signing his deal ...
Reid is actually making all the right moves. Superbowl year. holler.
I just poured some of my King Koybra out in memory of our ex-backup QB.
good times.
Don't waste it, Mad-Lad!
P.S. Where the hell have you been?
Fine moves all.
Hopefully Koy will become superfan number one and be seen, drunk as a lemur, in the stands at every home game from now on.
My lemur has started going to AA.
is he still tappin mitts
Best of luck to Pinkston and Detmer.
I love our QB situation now. This is the only place AJ ever played well. Must be the system. lol
Hate to see veterans and good guys leave the team and you wish them well and thank them, however this is the team moving on.
:yay

Agreed. I think Detmer's playing career is over, but he may make a fine coach.
Pinkston...well, I hope he is physically ok, but I think he's just too soft to make it back to the NFL.
Andy agrees with you, Joel:
QuoteSaid head coach Andy Reid in a statement: "Todd has had seven great years here for the Philadelphia Eagles. "There is no one that I have respected more than Todd, who has helped us win a lot of football games. We have decided to give him an opportunity to move on to another team where there was still time for him to latch on as a starter. I know he is anxious to find another situation and step in and contribute immediately.
"Koy gave 10 great years to the Eagles organization. He handled himself as a true professional on and off the field. He has been a great teammate. We wish he and his family all the best in the future."
Meaning Todd might find a job in the NFL, but Koy won't.
P.S. For all you Spadaro lovers, Dave felt nice and comfortable being honest about Koy's complete lack of ability displayed in the pre-season now that he's been cut. Weird.

Yeah, now you get to hear the people around your seats yell "PUT IN JAY FEELY!!" :D
good thing i jumped on the "get AJ" bandwagon, horray.

"BUT, MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHO IS THIS TRENT COLE?"
i guess Dirk will be doing the holding?
I thought Reno was the #2 QB.
Wouldn't it be funny if A.J. at some point threw a TD pass to Reggie Brown, seeing as they were traded for each other?
It would be kind of like Trent Cole killing Thrash.
Great Move by Andy. Finally ridding the team of Koy's roster eating spot. Pinky you were good in the SB and about 4 other games, but thanks for your service.

Didn't he leave in the 2nd quarter with an injury?
But but but Koy is an amazing holder. The second Diggler messes up a hold, you will all be calling for the superior holding abilities of Koy Detmer.

I don't doubt that there will be at least one botched hold this year. But that's not worth a roster spot.
Yep FF but it was a great 2 quarters. Then he disappointed like usual.
Thank god. I can't hate on Koy, the dude never pretended to be better than he was, and was always worth a chuckle when you saw his big-nosed, neck-beard having, lanky ass running for his life or getting crushed by a 300+lb lineman. Good luck to him. I think he will be a good coach somewhere.
Pinkston, meh. I try to feel for the dude, he made some big plays here and there, and I was big fan and defender of the guy for awhile. That game against the Skins, when he made one of the most cowardly dodges on a play I've ever seen, all of my respect for the guy went out the window. With a bum Achilles, his speed gone, I think his career is over.
Feeley is a guy, when I watched Detmer and Chang, run around during these past preseason games, I wished we could have back.
Excellent moves. To make this a really great week, CUT MAHE!

No doubt. McNabb going down and Neckbeard coming in doesn't really work. But where else can you find a man who names his kids after himself and his wife, only packs and toothbrush on road trips and happens to have a scruffy hick neckbeard? And at the same time, a 150 pound wide reciever with basically no talent? Where I tell you? Where!!

SAYONARA, STINKSTON :-D
Less than 24 hours after ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli posted a puff piece regarding "news" that the Philadelphia Eagles have given receiver Todd Pinkston and his agent Joel Segal permission to seek a trade, the Eagles have made the process far easier for Segal.
By cutting Pinkston.
On Wednesday morning, the Eagles released Pinkston and quarterback Koy Detmer.
The Eagles also have re-signed quarterback A.J. Feeley, who was traded two years ago to the Dolphins for a second-round draft pick. Feeley was recently released by the Chargers.
The return of Feeley calls into question, in our view, the status of Jeff Garcia, who was signed in the offseason to be Donovan McNabb's primary backup. ???
Pinkston had 4 catches for 82 yards in the Super Bowl. Color me surprised.

I was buzzing, but not piss drunk. That was what happened afterwards. The plan was I'd be either crying in my beer or celebrating by abusing my liver.
I learned my lesson about getting shteinfaced before games. Beermonkey, Eaglez and SDEagle remember the Rams game in 2002 well. That was the time SD_Eagle fell down the steps on his ass, got up and performed a nice E-A-G-L-E-S...EAGLES!! chant (judges scored it 10 all around except for the French judge. She gave it a 6.5). I was so farged up I barely remember anything. I didn't realize ND Kalu had 4 sacks until it was on the Phanavision at the end. I only remember Bobby T INT TD.

Just because you don't need it shouldn't mean you don't want it. It seems you have a fierce desire to stay sober for Eagles games, and that's really my concern. If you were more of a "to each his own" or "I might have a few during a game" attitude, it would make more sense.

My favorite thing in the world to do is tailgate and instead of going to the game I go to the bar and watch it. Before I left PA I did it all the time at both PSU and Eagles games. At PSU I would go to the Sports Cafe for Eagles games I go to the bar at the Holliday Inn.
farging A, man. Tailgating followed by the Sports Cafe is something that I still wake up craving every fall...

2nd on SportsCafe. Hell yes.
It really doesn't get much better than getting drunk, watching PSU beat the shtein out of Nebraska, going to the bar, and making out with drunk college sluts.
Well, at PSU, it was a nice secondary income to sell my student tix to suckers then spend the game drunk at a bar.
Plus, I could still get in on the downtown rioting afterwards with ease.

Holy shtein. I was right there doing (almost) exactly that for that game. The slut was my ladyfriend and we were a year or two removed from college, but otherwise we were living parallel lives that night.

It would be scary if I didn't know so many other people doing the same thing as well.
I agree. Your ladyfriend is a slut.
I hereby dub FF the winner of the 'tell the most obvious joke at the most obvious time' contest.

We should have been yelled at by now for taking this thread off-topic.
We're really not showing the proper level of respect to the magntitude of these roster moves.
But that is incredibly accurate, rjs's ladyfriend does slobber knob better than most porn stars.
Why do you think I'm still with her?
I like the move a lot. I don't see how you can't. The Eagles are very deep at QB now. Not that it matters if McNabb goes down, because we're farged, but Feeley is much better insurance than Detmer obviously. Finally they had the balls to break away from the master holder to upgrade depth.
They conquered their fear. Just like Hugo Weaving did for Natalie Portman.

Because you plan on riding that sugar momma's money train all the way to rjs heaven - Quitting your job and playing poker professionally... or simply pickling your liver by abusing alcohol 24/7.
You bastiches. Neckbeard is gone and all you can talk about is beer? :'(
Koy actually seeing playing time can drive a man to drink mass quantities.

Beer goes with message boards like beer and more beer.

the last thing that ever came to my mind while discussing Todd Pinkston or Koy Detmer was football.
Maybe we can make Feeley look good again and retrade him for another 2nd round pick.

that almost got a chuckle.
You give him too much credit by assuming he was kidding.

To Miami.
Time for one last game of Pass to Pinky (http://www.johnkalnin.com/passtopinky/).

You're welcome.
NBC10 interviewed Feeley at the airport tonight and he says it's great to be home.
And we think it's great that you got us Reggie Brown, so let's call it even.
No Heather on the flight though.
Now it's official... we got Reggie Brown for free.
Quote from Andy:
Quote"Both of them are great guys, and both of them did a great job for us," Reid said. "I just thought it was time to move in a little different direction."
:-D
Beautiful, just beautiful. I love when Andy always tries to dumb it down as much as he can.
Another:
Quote"There is no one that I have respected more than Todd, who has helped us win a lot of football games," Reid said. "We have decided to give him an opportunity to move on to another team while there was still time for him to latch on as a starter. I know he is anxious to find another situation and step in and contribute immediately."
I just love it. He makes it seem like he's doing Todd this huge favor.
Detmer with 'the whip' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ysx00RRghZg)
Hail Koy.
There's something wonderfully wrong with that man.

Excellent.
My favorite celebration ever. that is incredibly accurate.
The one where he turns and does it to Brett Favre is awesome. And when he started in SF in 2002 Reid told him to not do it at all. Koy does it after the first TD anyway and Reid rips him a new ass.
Okay, who put the E A G L E S EAGLES!! audio in the thread, and how do I turn it off? Motherfargers.
What are you talking about, Dio?
I get an audio clip in this thread..the Eagles chant. It doesn't happen every time I access the thread, but unfortunately, I'm not hallucinating.

Hilarious. :-D
Thing is... if he was still capable of doing something on the field that would allow him to do that dance, he'd still be on the team.
The Eagles moved swiftly to shure up the holder spot for years to come:
Dirk Johnson signs 5-year extension (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/homeNewsDetail.jsp?id=54423)
Dirk has looked really solid this preseason
Dirk Diggler and Vince Papale are identical twins.
http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/homeNewsDetail.jsp?id=54423
I actually was thinking about this as a possibility yesterday, considering how important holders are. They wouldn't want to let Dirk walk at the end of the season and find another punter AND holder.
Good signing...nice to have stability there.
I can't even explain how excited I am about this signing. I literally just knocked a few things off of my desk with my erection. How embarrassing.

Tell us about some more of your thoughts.
Out of pure boredom, I'd guess.
I was thinking Diane Kruger is really really hot.
whos this heather ppl keep asking about?
Yes, she is (http://images.google.com/images?q=diane%20kruger).
The Eagles should sign her to the cheerleading squad.
