Shocking! (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2565423)
A blurb:
QuoteAs of Tuesday afternoon, three teams had indicated an interest in Pinkston, a second-round selection in the 2000 draft. At least two of the three receiver-needy franchises would likely view Pinkston as a starter, if he is healthy. Pinkston has conceded, though, he is not pain-free yet as he continues to recover from the Achilles injury suffered last summer in training camp.
Even teams legitimately interested in Pinkston will have some concerns about his health and also might be willing to gamble that he will be released this weekend, when teams must reduce their rosters to the regular season limit of 53 players. Philadelphia is set at the two starting wideout spots, with Stallworth and second-year veteran Reggie Brown, and the coaches like some of the youngsters they've brought in, too.
The teams interested in Pinkston likely are attracted by his outstanding deep speed and career average of 15.3 yards per catch.
Lenny P loves him sum Pinky.
Lenny loves him some Segal.
Teams off the top of my head that could use him:
Niners (2nd WR is Arnaz Battle)
Bears (2nd WR is a competition between Bernard Berrian and Mark Bradley)
Vikings (Childress loves him some Eagles' throw-aways)
I'd agree with those teams. Instead of swapping Pinkston and a pick, I could see something like Pinkston and the Eagles 7th for a 5th.
Otherwise, I don't see how anyone could give higher than a 6th or 7th in a swap.
I'd trade him for Simoneau.

I dont think the Bears would need him. Before his injury, Bradley looked better than Pinkston ever has except his one good season.
Maybe we trade a guy in Pinkston who is going to get cut for a LB or RB somewhere that is going to get cut.

could pinkston actually pass a physical with another team? if a miracle did happen.

The only game I ever hold against him is the NFCCG and him getting b!tch slapped.
Him losing afraid of getting popped by Taylor and the Superbowl cramps thing was weak too, but I've never been a Pinkston hater.
pinky = 8th rounder
Chiefs could be an option along with the teams FF listed.
But I think this is just Lenny P pimping him.
The Saints need a WR, and Pinkston is from southern Mississippi....
They didn't need a WR yesterday.
If Todd Pinkston lands us a draft pick on his way out the door... wow. :-D
Get Hollis Thomas!

I hope he goes too, since with Pinkston, Simoneau & Mahe gone, 90% of the bitching about individual players on Eagles message boards will be eliminated.
Please. We'll still find a lot to bitch about. Pffft.

you would agrue it wasn't?
I would argue that the Eagles will get nothing for Pinkston.

It was absolutely catchable. Pinkston slowed down and then completely stopped. If he continued in stride, it would have been a great pass and catch.

Yes, because he farging stopped. Twice.
lets all break down a pinkston pass play from three years ago
behind him? it was a perfect pass if he had kept running, it would've hit him in stride.

i know you love pinkston and all, but that pass was there to be caught and he punked out, like normal
I know you hate Pinkston and all, but that pass was not going to be caught by anyone, and he didn't try for it, unlike usual.
:P
i don't know how you can say it wouldn't be caught by anyone. it was right online until he stopped.
I watched the clip again and paused it when the ball hit the ground - no more than 3 yards from Pinkston.
It is completely laughable that you would call it a bad pass. It was actually no worse than the pass Pinkston caught later in the game, that other clip I posted.
its exchanges like this that makes me happy the board never works anymore
Former NFL player who did like to play in traffic... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimitrius_Underwood)
QuoteAfter he escaped from a psychiatric care facility, he was released from the Miami Dolphins in December 1999. He later signed with the Dallas Cowboys with a two year contract. During the 2000-2001 seasons, Underwood had 21 tackles and 4 sacks in 19 games. In January 2001, tried to kill himself for the second time by running into traffic twice on a busy suburban highway.
Sorry, Dio, but I disagree. That pass could/should have been caught, in my opinion.
And I liked Skinny.

Right.
That play would have been so much better if Clark had crushed him anyway, and then Taylor would spit on Pinky's vadge as he lay sprawled, gargling on the field.

The more I look at it, the more convinced I am that he's not half the Hoyda you guys think he is.
He slows up for the pass at the 19 on the left hash, from which position there is NO way he could have caught the ball, and he saw as much. At that point, the play was over. Then he sees the defender and ducks the hit. The ball landed behind him and the defender, between the hashes, at the 16 or so. Well outside of reach, given Pinks position and (at that point, lack of) momentum. If he had continued running instead of slowing up then he might have caught the ball, and wouldn't have taken a huge hit, because the catch would have been two or three strides further down field, preventing the defender from lining him up from across the field. But Pinkston misjudged where the ball was, slowed up too soon, and was out of position. It was not catchable given their positions and momentum.
The throw was good, I was mistaken to intimate otherwise. Pinkston blew the play, but not by ducking the hit.
Taylor is the best expectorator in the league, even if he's not truly the best safety as some might wrongly believe.

He blew the play by ducking the hit. He's on the 19 about a second before the ball lands. Run a yard more and jump in the farging air. He could have had that play so easily, still.
I don't hate ToothPink, I just feel he was completely one-dimensional. That one-dimension was useful, and the Birds really missed it last season, but there are guys who can run fast and be more productive than ToothPink (like Stallworth, I hope), and that's why I'm glad his ass was kicked to the curb.
He blew the play by stopping up too soon. The ducking was insult to injury. That's the last I'm gonna say about the play. Have fun thinking he's a Hoyda, tough guys.
Mad, I completely agree.
I agree with MMH. Again.

Having just watched that video, you're dead on Dio. If he had kept running full speed it would have landed on the numbers, and he probably scores. He pulled up, most likely because he lost track of the ball.
BTW, if you want a real laugh, go to Wikipedia and search for Todd Pinkston.
Some of it is not funny - just sad.

QuoteHe was cut in August shortly after the Eagles traded for New Orleans Saints receiver Donte Stallworth
Damn, they're fast.
Wiki people update constantly. They get obsessive about it. Go look up Pluto.
I cant believe anyone buys that lost in the lights shtein. Pinkston saw the safety coming to clean his clock. It's called peripheral vision. He fargin bailed on that play in one of the most pathetic things i've seen on a football field. Luckily for Pink, Marcus Vick stepping on Elvis' knee takes the cake as the worst.

I agree - he stopped the pattern short and looked up for the ball, and started back-pedaling. When he saw the safety come he ducked. The second he turned for the ball it was over - McNabb threw it so he could run under it.
Minnesota is currently in discussions with free agent WR Todd Pinkston.
A deal is not thought to be imminent due to the uncertain status of the former Eagle's Achilles. Pinkston would likely not be guaranteed a starting job if he were to end up with the Vikings.
Source: Minneapolis Star-Tribune:
Brad Childress confirmed the Vikings are talking with the agent for free agent receiver Todd Pinkston.
Sounds like a few teams are interested in Pinkston and quite frankly there is probably no hurry because he's not 100 percent due to the Achilles' tendon injury that ended his 2005 season. Pinkston likely would benefit from some time off.
PFT is reporting a done deal....1-yr vet minimum. Childress luvs him some Eagles leftovers
Hah.
I betcha the Vikings fans loins are wet with excitement.
Childress doesn't want him either (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2580757)
I laugh at those who actually counted on him coming back healthy this year.
Die, Todd.
