Title: Niners Trade Mike Rumph To Washington
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on August 14, 2006, 07:48:40 PM
Quote49ers | Rumph traded to Washington
Mon, 14 Aug 2006 16:30:07 -0700

Matt Maiocco, of the Press Democrat, reports the San Francisco 49ers traded CB Mike Rumph to the Washington taterskins in exchange for WR Taylor Jacobs.

Good deal for both teams. Jacobs was done in Washington and Rumph was done in SF.

Rumph and Matt Ware are very similar with the only difference being Rumph was a #1. He sucked at CB and was moved to S and still sucked.

I don't like this one bit. Rumph has underachieved but how can the taterskins make a trade without giving away some ridiculous first day draft pick for good measure? Something's fishy here...

I think they might be fresh out of draft picks to give up. But after seeing their prized nickle back acquisition get roasted last night, they needed some help. And this is good for the Eagles. Even Greg Lewis can beat Rumph. Pinky abused him on MNF a few years ago when Koy was in.

On the other hand, this is another Hurricane who sucked. See, IGY, we're not the only ones who took a bad 'Cane. ;)

You knew it was coming - matter o' fact, this should be merged into the Point and Laugh thread (http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164097&page=2&pp=15)

QuoteHe was helthy enough to miss like 4 tackles on Saturday His change of direction stinks but Williams will make sure he is tackling on Sundays  A change of scenery could be good for him. As for Taylor good ridance unless he gets a heart transplant he won't do much.

Mike Nolan says the guy stunk for missing tackles and now the almighty Gregggggggggggggggg will save him.

QuotePsyche, I'm stoked that we actually got someone for him that's faaaantastic. Now we have three of the five best Niners from last year.

QuoteHes a U guy wholl now be with other U guys. They seem to have the ability to bring each other up. Hopefully yhis will be the case.

I can't stand skins fans. I hate that team more than any other just because of them.

If he was wasting a roster spot its because Gibbs wanted him to waste it.

It's like getting something for nothing, in our case. Sure, this something might suck, but we won't know whether he's good or not until we see him play. A change of scenery can do a person good sometimes. And if Rumph gets cut at the end of preseason, so what. It's not like we gave up something valuable for him.

i would have paid $5 to see taylor leave.

I do think he will be good for the 9ers though.  He isn't a bad player from what we have seen but he doesn't execute.  Maybe the change will be helpful to him.  I was worried he would end up an eagle.

This has all the shades of our trade of Billy McMullen for Hank Baskett earlier in the pre-season, without the actual feeling that it will work out for either team.  So, that's good... for us.

I'm sure he read it, and I'm sure he doesn't give a shtein how you spin it.

Jacobs sucks.  Rumph sucks.
