We haven't in years past.
Having just signed up, the rules say no spread.
this one does not have the spread, but I enjoy the spread option and the importance rankings one. We could have 3 seperate pickems this year with the other options if people would be interested. anyone?
i prefer with the spread...but will do whatever ones get set up
can you pm the info murp
same here MURP? Thanks
Defending Champ, ready to repeat!
I think I sent something like a week ago and MURP ignored me. Wahhhh.
In.
I gotta come out of the woodwork for the Pick 'em league ;D
PM sent, and Dallas still sucks! :evil
I sent the PM a few days ago. Still no invite.
After how good I made most people look last year in this, it's amazing I wouldn't be the first one invited.
I'll do three different ones.

Nevermind. Apparently, I signed up a long time ago. Sorry MURP.

Why
wouldn't there be room in a pick 'em league? The more the merrier.

I think Yahoo sets a 50 person maximum.
Oh?
You might have known that if you weren't so old and out of touch.
IGY & FF picked the Texans.
Discuss.
they are both homosexuals. duh.

not really that hard to figure out
i win no matter what
Exactly. I think I picked all three other NFC East teams to win also.
me too....in fact in every game i pick the team i want to lose...unless i have no feelings at all then i pick who i think will win
real nfl results>>>>>>>>>pick em results
Amen.
ha, keep trying to explain why you can't pick NFL games
I swear, if I wouldn't screw up on a couple of my picks each week I'd get them all right.

You really think you're going to win this contest anyway? Wrong.
i know that i wouldn't consider an Eagles loss as a "win" if i picked their oppenent in a pick'em contest that pays no money
it obviously not a loss but if the eagles are gonna lose you might as well get something small out of it...i always try to bet against the eagles as well

Yep. What does the line have to be set at this week for you to bet on the Giants? I say Eagles -5.
everything else aside i think the giants will win this week...so them getting any points is a no brainer for me
the only time i dont bet against the eagles is when the line is such that i think they could lose the game and still cover
I wouldn't bet against the Eagles when they're a dog EVER.
I've also never actually put any money on an NFL game. That might change this week.
Yeah yeah yeah...you are all just making excuses to cover up the fact that you were wrong. Never forget the immortal wisdom of Herm Edwards:
You play to win the game
I hope I'm wrong even more this week.
me three

so you've never bet on a game in your life but you're gonna choose a week 2 contest against two division rivals with a probable very low spread?
good thinking.
I would have bet on the Giants if the spread was more than a FG. Since it looks to be sitting at 2.5 or 3, I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole. That said, I was intrigued at this line:
KC +11 at Denver
Wrong thread, though.
Philly Crew is an impressive 8 of 8 on the morning games today.
MDS still on top. Shut the hell up.
Some idiot forgot to do his picks this week.
Whoops, that idiot was me... :paranoid
After yet another good week, MDS sits alone atop the standings. And yes, he will gloat like an ass every week.
I had a bad week.
only 5 right so far.
You and me both Phreak. Well, except that you really sucked. :P
Yeah, it was brutal.
I need CHI & PHI to win to make it respectable like.
Big rebound this week. If BAL wins tonight I go 14/14. ;D

Me, you, and everyone else. :P
Stop raining on my parade, dammit!
No matter what, I'm still in first.
I did a lot better than last week... considering I remembered to pick at all. :nyuk
EDIT: Omitted a word, which does change the meaning of the sentence.
Woody Allen was right. 95% of life is showing up.
I got 13/14 right this week and didn't move up. Boo.
i picked every game and got six
I picked 2 games wrong and I'm still in first. You all blow.
IGY & Whizzer;
Get yo picks in!

Dang it, I forgot last week's too. :boom
I thought my wife was the one that was supposed to forget things while pregnant. :paranoid
MDS - prepare to be embraced by the cold grip of second place, or worse, sucker.
I forgot to make my picks. I usually do them on Saturday. But I got to see the Eagles stomp the Skins which more than makes up for it. Besides, I would have only gotten about 8 right anyway so it's not like I would have had a big week.
I'm free
Free Fallin
Phreak now has a 2-game lead over me, thanks to my strategy of picking the teams to win that hurts the Eagles most... so of course, none of them won, including the Giants.
I don't have a problem with the outcome.
Cerevant is going to win this thing.
151 - me
150 - cerevant
149 - fk
I had 9 today (picked CHI)
Cerevant had 10 (will get 11 once GB wins)
fk had 11 (picked CHI)
I changed the NE/TEN game to TEN this morning. >:(
looks like a tie between Phreak and Cerevant
*takes a bow*
I'd like to thank all my fans out there for sticking with me during my mid-season slump. If I have to share the title, I'm pleased to share it with such a great competitor.

I thought so, but it has them both listed as #1. Not sure how to figure out the tiebreaker if it doesnt show it on there. ??? not a big deal either way.
The one listed first?
I don't know how the list is sorted, but here is the breakdown of the obvious tiebreakers that I could come up with:
Weekly head-to-head tiebreaks (total points of MNF game) = Cerevant, 10-7
Overall week wins = Cerevant, 3-2
Head-to-head weeks = Phreak, 8-7-2
So, who gets to pick the tiebreakers after the fact? Or do we just leave it a tie?
(edit: missed one tie in the head-to-head)
what about who scores the most points and least points each week. Those are also tiebreakers...... i dont know where yahoo shows the results of that shtein.

The weekly tiebreak (http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/footballpickem_p/rules/fprules-08.html) is a combination of all of those - however, with the exception of one week (that went to Phreak) the first tiebreak worked. I couldn't find any rules for tiebreaks in the season standings. I'm guessing that PP is first in the list because he won the tiebreak for week 17.
QuoteIn any week where two or more players finish with the same number of points, here's the system that'll be used to break the tie:
1. Closest to the total points for Monday night's game.
2. Closest to the home team points for Monday night's game.
3. Closest to the road team points for Monday night's game.
4. Closest to the total points for Sunday night's game.
5. Closest to the home team points for Sunday night's game.
6. Closest to the road team points for Sunday night's game.
7. Closest to the city whose team scores the most points.
8. Closest to the city whose team scores the fewest points.
9. Whichever user had more points in the previous week (or the week before that if still tied, etc.).
You'll be able to determine each weekly winner by looking at the Weekly Performance page, where the person winning the week will be shown in bold
If you apply the tiebreaks to the weeks we tied, I come out ahead on the head-to-head (9-8) as well.
I dunno, too much nonsense to wade through. You both got 160 right so its a tie. there we go. :deion
I say we end this lunacy and declare Ditka the champion.
