So, why is Jeffy wearing #7? If you're all like me, and I'm sure you are, didn't you already buy your GARCIA 6 authentics? I'm furious at this obvious marketing ploy.

Because 7, turned on its side, is Garcia's official "symbol"....with a slight upwards curvature I might add.

Saw a brief clip of Koy catching passes from Jeff Garcia today.
It didn't inspire confidence for me that Koy looked better catching them than Garcia did throwing.

QuoteSlimmed-down Andrews ready to bear down
By Marc Narducci
Inquirer Staff Writer
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Guard Shawn Andrews is big enough, tough enough, and secure enough to admit that he traveled to the Eagles' training camp with a teddy bear, and that he will be sleeping with the stuffed animal.
In an even more startling revelation, Andrews admitted that he is excited about starting camp.
On the eve of the first full-squad practice today, Andrews stood outside the Eagles' dorms at Lehigh University as the players checked in. He talked about a new season, his new body, and his new outlook on football and health.
First, the teddy bear. Andrews said he had brought the stuffed animal named Luck Luck to camp.
"I'm not ashamed of it," said Andrews, who might own the best sense of humor on the team but insists he was being serious. "I have had good luck ever since I had him."
Part of that good luck came in June, when Andrews signed a contract extension through 2015. It is estimated that he will make between $11 million and $12 million in 2006.
While his bank account has grown, his waistline has receded. The 6-foot-4 Andrews said his goal coming into camp was to be at 358 pounds. He said he weighs about 345.
"I'm 100 times more excited to be at camp this year," he said. "I was overweight when I came to camp last year."
Andrews, who was named a Pro Bowl alternate last season, said he entered training camp a year ago at 385 pounds.
"On the record, I was kind of dreading camp last year, because I knew I didn't put in the work and the time before camp that I should have," he said.
Last year, Andrews thought it was quite an accomplishment when he was able to run a mile without stopping in the days before camp. This year, he said, for the last four or five weeks, he has run four miles nonstop.
Andrews, who will turn 24 on Christmas, was the Eagles' first-round draft choice in 2004, but he suffered a season-ending broken right leg in the first game that season. Last year, he bounced back to start all 16 games and was the Eagles' best offensive lineman.
Wearing a black tank top and proud to show his slimmed-down physique, Andrews said he never wants to go through a camp like last year's, when just making it through each workout was a major challenge.
"Just getting in and out of your stance, up and down in close to 100 degrees, was tough," he said. "I don't have as much stomach to have to fight through this year to get into my stance."
Then, with a laugh, Andrews blurted out his motto for 2006: "It will be down, set, hut, and kick some butt. We're going to have some fun this year."
That's it, I'm getting a Shawn Andrews jersey. (suuriously)
You would think Andrews would get a house here after the long extension.

It's frightening to me that someone can be that big and not be a fat lazy sack of pig lard. I mean, slimmed down, he weighs TWICE as much as I do. Dear god. I hope he kills someone in a game this year.
When are the big hitting days? I have never been to camp before and I am thinking about going out for a day or two this year.

Soon to be cut Darilek vs. Trent Cole
^^^
From the Friday practice blog...
QuoteWhen Jevon Kearse was on The Daily Eagle on Thursday, he mentioned his suprise in the low number of fights during training camp. On Friday -- perhaps the hottest day of camp -- the tempers flared more than any time previously. Offensive guard Trey Darilek and defensive end Trent Cole tangled up in an individual drill and came to blows. Other players came in to break it up, the crowd cheered and practiced resumed.
-- Zach Berman, 10:15 a.m.
I don't know what I like better, Darilek rumbling with no helmet or Castillo's reaction. Looks like the PE teacher that has totally lost control of the dodge ball game in sixth grade.

Calvin doing a nice job practicing the most obvious hold ever.
Nothing slows down a speedy DE like a shot to the windpipe.
Andrews looks like he belongs in the Gladiator movie.
Well, I figured out what those silly things Trawilliam and Shawn are wearing are:
QuoteWhile the special teams were practicing, head coach Andy Reid was bellowing for any lineman who wasn't part of the teams to get off the field and cool down. As they walked off the field, the big guys were suited with "Cool Clads" which basically looks like a flak jacket that is soaked in ice water. The purpose of this device is pretty self explanatory. I might have to go grab one for myself.
--Shane Evans 10:07 a.m.

No, I'd prefer him to be even less accurate. They did come close last year.
I really want the skins to take a severe downswing this year. 3-13, 4-12... something fun.

Billy King should see where he's at nowadays.
The messed up thing is that he still went on to play at GB and OAK despite being a colossal bust. The GB thing was all Ray Bob though.
Luries hand is inches away from doing "the Garcia"
why would he do garcia?
Maybe he's curious.
He wants to feel closer to SunMo, who is obviously Garcia-like during football games.
I think he stays sober because he hopes the Eagles will come up in the stands and ask him to suit up.
