Small news, but could have big impact down the line. :yay link (http://www.boston.com/sports/football/articles/2006/06/18/this_law_is_on_agents_side/?page=4)
QuoteThe Patriots have lost another key scout. Matt Russell quit about a week ago to go work for the Eagles and scouting director Jason Licht, also a former Patriots scout. Russell, a former Colorado linebacker and Butkus Award winner, has a tremendous reputation as a talent evaluator.
I guess they're using their RazorGator profits to lure away the good scouts.
It would be nice if they used more money to lure away the most talented players slightly more often, but good scouts are important too.
An upgrade to the Eagles' scouting department sounds good to me. Question is, will Andy listen to them?
Dear God... I hope this guy can spot a good WR or LB every once in a while.

Another Lions draft pick whose career was cut short...
BTW, this apparently happened on the 7th:
Quote6/7 Named Ryan Grigson director of college scouting, Matt Russell, Johnathon Stigall and Ahmad Russell college scouts, and John Spytek college scouting assistant.
HUGE! I guess this years draft wasn't good enough.

The Pats have a great LB corps and since this guy was an LB in college I'm hoping he had something to do with that.
It's good to hope...let's all hope the new beefed up defensive line erns it's paycheck this year, and makes the current LB corps look decent. :paranoid
