By popular demand, this edition of From the Vault is devoted to the Gold Standard Pimp. I present Luriestache.
Lurie first graces us with his stache when he decided to take up the entire cover of the 94 Eagles media guide. Take note of the ginormous football that he handles with a smile. The creativity of having a #94 jersey there to represent the year isn't as cool as it representing the career of Leonard Renfro. holla.

The following season Luriestache lightened up a bit, took off the coat and rolled up the sleeves. 1995 was going to be about hard work. Stache even let up on the ego a bit and let Ray join him on the cover.
Those of you not fortunate enough to have this classic media guide around will probably go ahead and print this dandy out and frame it on the bottom of your toilet.

finally, here is an enlarged pic of Luriestache for you to save and photochop. Until next time.

Man I love those uni's, probably only for the nostalgia but I love them all the same.
I still have my green Reggie jersey and the white Eric Allen jersey from '94 with that patch on it.
The Luristache is a legend.
Bow to it.
The Luriestache actually brings back fond memories for me because it was when Norman Braman finally had left. Anything is better than those days watching Braman trying to destroy a potentially great team.
Well done once again, MurpĀ :-D :yay
i never understood the fascination with those uni's...it's not like they ever won anything in them. they're ok...but personally i liked the thick striped unis from the late 70's early 80's
(this is an outloud rhetorical thought...no need to rant about those jerseys etc...)
i miss the fat 'P' maroon phils uniforms
i go back and forth about which are better...the kellys or the superbowls...they both qualify as one of the coolest jerseys ever
who judges a jersey by what the team does in them anyway?
the jerseys do bring back the memories of how the team performed in that era
for example...not only are mid 90's sixers' jersey's awful looking, they bring up memories of some terrible teams

i liked those...but dont miss them.
i dont mind the classic look the phils have now. but i was always partial to the power blue and maroon combo.
the powder blue phils jerseys>both your lives
you certainly hold my life with very little regard...as do i.

hook um' horns!
or claw em golden eagles
oops, screwed up that one. I thought he was from Texas. Speaking of Texas what ever happend to that kid the sixers drafted out of Texas back in 94 or 95, BJ Tyler?
he played one or two years with the sixers then went to europe i believe
I saw that Sixers uni and immediately thought of Willie Burton, Dana Barros and of course 'Spoon.
Sir Charles came to mind. Fav. Basketball player evr. that is incredibly accurate
