Sweet.

I am jealous.

I wouldn't want to be on a plane that long though. But at least you get to wait 3 weeks before having to make the flight all over again.

Aussie chicks are hot too. :yay

Give me a surf report when you get back.  Are you going to Melbourne?

Bells Beach is just farging sick.  About 70 km southwest of Melbourne.  Check out those lines!

Which part of Australia are you traveling too? I've been to Perth, Syndey, and Darwin. Probably my favorite port visit.

Some blurb from Westy on KFFL, figured I would stick it in the Training Camp thread:

Eagles | Westbrook ready to roll
Mon, 8 May 2006 05:02:20 -0700

Bob Grotz, of the Delaware County Times, reports Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (foot) says he's recovered from the Lisfranc sprain that cost him the last four games of the 2005 campaign, and that he's a full go for minicamp this weekend. When the offseason is all said and done, he expects to be in the best shape of his professional career to shoulder the new and increased load and to avoid the nagging injuries that shelved him here and there through the years. "Coach (Andy) Reid said he was going to hand the ball off a lot this year, so I'm trying to get ready for that," Westbrook said. "And I'm definitely working forward to it. I've always said the more I touch the ball the more I get into a rhythm, and the better I will be as a player. Last year I didn't touch it as much in the run game as I wanted to."

Australia is sweet. One of my favorite deployment spots. Cheap as hell to. If you have never sky-dived, water-skied, rock-climbed, or anything else of the sort, it's the place to do it. Good stuff. About the Australian chicks - there is no middle ground, either way farging hot, or heinously repulsive. Wait until you see an Aborigini dude/woman walk into a bar or something else, reeking and dirty as hell, with no shoes, etc., and order something up. Because of the cruelty the settlers put them through, they now get some special "rights". Very interesting place.

damn you posting that a minute before I get the article up.   ;D

What date did they report to Lehigh last year?  It was the shortest camp yet last time no?

I'm gonna make it to training camp this year.

Vacation kinda got screwed up this year so I'm going to have to just take a few days here and there instead.

Hopefully airline tickets won't be too bad.  Southwest has flights for $59 right now, btw.

I look foward to the reports. Always good stuff.

An excerpt from one of Phreak's posts from last year for those of you who haven't seen them:

Quote
An overcast day up in Lehigh that eventually turned into some pretty heavy rain and storms. Practice was cut short by about 30-45 minutes because of the threat of lightning.

- Jamaal Green was limping today and eventually couldn't go. He sprained his foot yesterday and he came out in full pads went through some DE individal drills and then had to sit out.

- Sean Considine did not suit up today (shoulder)

- Sam Rayburn did not suit up today (elbow)

- Bruce Perry did not suit up today (concussion)

- TO did not suit up today (groin) and stayed inside to have treatment

- Josh Parry sprained his knee on a pass

- Trent Cole looked pretty hurt after he tackled Westbrook on one play. I t looked like his shoulder, but I couldn't tell. He was down quite awhile and was then walked off.

- Ryan Moats knocked himself out and had a concussion today. He lowered his head to take on Jeremy Thornburg when coming up the middle and gave himself a concussion. He sat out after that play.

- Justin Jenkins came up short on a pass down the sideline and sat out towards the end of the practice. It looked like either a cramp or a pulled hammy.

1. Ryan Moats had the longest run of the day. He broke off a 50+ yarder and was movin'! He took off around LT and turned upfield and was gone. He eventually was caught when he slowed down to wait for the WR to block downfield. When he was caught from behind - he fumbled. Mike Bartrum recovered, but Moats was not carrying the ball securely enough. He looked more worried about going to the house than if he was being chased and it cost him a fumble.

2. Billy McMullen was very good today. He made a great catch over Sheldon Brown on the left sideline on a crossing pattern. Detmer lead him but Sheldon jumped and got a finger on it, then Brown tried to knock it down but McMullen grabbed it out of the air and took off.

3. McMullen also had several other nice catches where he used his body to shield the defender and make the grab.

4. Reggie Brown also had himself a nice day. He beat Dawkins on a beautiful slant pattern. They were doing 3-on-3 drills and Dawk was up against Brown. Dawk tried to jam him and Reggie shook the jam. He then ran the slant and Dawk tried to undercut him and INT the ball, but Brown kept him off and hauled in the catch. Very nice indeed.

Phreak, do you sit there and take notes?

there was a big article in the wash post travel section yesterday saying that if you plan to fly this summer and even for the rest of the year best to get your tickets sooner rather than later as prices are going to soar because of gas costs

Last year's camp was the first I missed in about 8 years, since we went to Florida & by the time I got back, camp was almost over.

It started on July 30 & ran to the public only until August 13th, barely 2 weeks.

Yep - I was reading an article where the kook in Iran was threatening $110/barrel oil prices this summer if sanctions were imposed.  Delightful.

My ass will be vacationing in my back yard if that shtein happens.

If I can make it happen and flights aren't too silly, I'm definitely coming up this year.

Training camp is always a fun experience. Hopefully I have a chance to make it this year. I remember in 2001 I was there everyday. But hey, I was in high school with nothing to do and it was right down the road - I have to go.

Miss Universe last year (I think) was from Australia.  And she was hot.  And her dress fell down revealing her thong and it RULED.

Go Gocong!

Yep. I take a little notebook with me and jot down stuff in shorthand so I don't miss much action. Then when I get in the truck and wait for the traffic to die down I write more from memory using the notes to help me remember.
