Summer camp will be longer

PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles will have to actually unpack their bags at Lehigh this summer.
After three very short training camps, the Eagles will be sequestered in Bethlehem, Pa., for nearly a month this summer.
"That's what happens when you go 6-10," one veteran player said.
Last summer's camp was less than two weeks. Veteran players, who report three days after rookies, had only nine days of camp.
But this year, thanks in part to head coach Andy Reid's desire for a longer camp and the addition of a fifth preseason game, the Eagles will be away longer than the last two camps combined.
Training camp is tentatively scheduled to begin on July 20 for rookies, returning injured players, quarterbacks and selected veterans. The rest of the roster is due to report three days later.
The Eagles were picked to play in this year's Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, which is scheduled for Aug. 6 — one week before most NFL teams begin their preseason.
Their second preseason game is Aug. 10 against the Browns at the Linc. They are expected to break camp on Aug. 16, which is the day before the third preseason game, at Baltimore.
It'd be a nice distraction from the Phillies if they're still sucking wind at that point.
And it will be nicer for the fans attending. More days and fewer wins means fewer visiting people per day. Hopefully.
thank god at least training camp is almost here. as much as I love the draft, this repetitive talk about players going in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th round, yet informative, is grueling to talk about over and over. Practice please
id take the draft over training camp and the fans who say matt mccoy is the second coming cause he had a strong morning session
there is nothing more tedious than training camp football
but but but captioning camp pics is a favorite nerd message board pastime for all.

More tedious than fans arguing over which potential draft pick would hypothetically be a pro-bowl player, like comic book geeks arguing over a Superman vs Batman outcome?

Superman
A layperson would say that, but everyone knows that Batman's superior intellect would allow him to fashion a weapon from kryptonite, thereby exposing Superman's only weakness.
Superman would just hang back out of the kryponite's hamful effects and blast Batman with his heat vision
Superman's a Hoyda.

Sure, Batman's never heard of a mirror. ::)
Superman's heat vision would melt a mirror, silly goose.
Training camp rules.
Nuh unh... Superman's heat vision would be reflected right back into his eyes, burning his super retinas... allowing Batman the opportunity to fling a Kryptonite-laced Batarang right into Superman's chest. Game over.
Good to see everyone staying on topic here.
And nerds, Batman already defeated Superman. Read The Dark Knight Returns you ignorant fargs.
that was bullshtein. i want a re-match. Superman owns all.

I know about that. I didn't want to break out the heavy shtein on 'em yet though.
Good news on two fronts;
1. That Reid is putting them to work. No more Camp Easy like it was last year.
2. More days for me to go up and watch.
3. More time to lose a player for the year. (ala Kalu, Buck, Pinky...)
anyone know when the training camp schedule is to be released....we are about two weeks away and ive heard nothing
eagles have jeremy bloom, who needs training camp

he caught a TD in the Super Bowl, that makes you awesome.
best western bethlehem 69 bones
im not sure i'm even going. training camp is pretty boring, unless you have a way to get on the field. and i don't do well in heat.
Once again, work conspires to farg up my training camp experience, so I won't be able to make it until the 28th at the earliest.
I should be up there a couple days during the first week of August.

I'll actually be driving to Philly on the 25th which means I probably won't be arriving until sometime around 5pm. :-\ But on the plus side, at least I get an ass whoopin from Ed. I've always wanted one of those. :paranoid
ive been thinking today with an extra preseason game on the schedule it leads to the possibility of more pre season/training camp injuries this year...which led me to this question:
from the minute rookies arrrive at lehigh until 1pm sept 10th how many players will go down with season ending injuries...not just starters or even players who are going to make the team but players period
over/under 3
I'll take the over on that easily.
Buckhalter is a guaranteed 1. He shouldn't even count.
What if he blows out both knees? That should count as two.
easily?
so youre sayin something like 5 or more players will go down with season ending injuries?
thing with buckhalter he has to be healthy enough to even have a chance to hurt himself again...he may flat out retire after the first practice much less ever play in a real game
I'm thinking ten just in camp. Unless they've added metal detectors and that sniper can't get through.
WTF? :-D
Does that include PG hiding in the trees with her "camera" taking "photographs"? Nudge, Nudge.
