Note that this isn't what I think they'll do, just what I wish they would do.
TRADES:
#76 overall to Green Bay for Javon Walker
#45 to Minnesota for #51 and #115
#108 and #115 to Cincinnati for #91
1 (14). LenDale White (RB, USC) (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/rb/lendalewhite.html)
2 (41). Jeremy Trueblood (OT, Boston College) (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/ot/jeremytrueblood.html)

I of course reserve the right to change my mind frequently over the coming weeks. Not taking a DT until the 5th round worries me but I don't think we can afford to both trade up for Ngata and trade for Walker; WR is a bigger need to me, White is a better pick at 14 than Bunkley in my mind, and after those 2 guys there really aren't too many guys that jump out at me as good value picks until you get to Jolly at 168.
DT is way too big of a need to let it wait until the 5th round, IMO. That needs to be sewn up by the 3rd round at the absolute latest.
Say the Walker trade goes through for the 3rd and Ngata and Bunkley are gone at 14 I'd like to see the Eagles either trade back and aquire a few picks and snag Watson or wait 'til the second round and grab either Watson or Wroten straight up.

So... a few questions:
1. How much are your parents paying a year for you to attend Boston College?
2. You really think the BC offensive line was good enough that the Eagles should go ahead and take two of them, as if both will actually make the team?
3. Jeremy Bloom in the 6th, with all the press he's gotten? Probably not.
4. I'd have to agree that Johnny Jolly is the reason Williams, Lawson, and McCargo all look good. Meaning that he sucks so bad, it elevates the other three guys. How would he POSSIBLY get a roster spot? Oh, and he didn't even go to NCSU.
5. Thomas Howard falling to #91? Why not just have the Eagles grab DeMeco Ryans or Chad Greenway there?
Let's just say you deserve to be raked across the coals for starting a new thread for this crap, ESPECIALLY considering it's what you claim you want to happen. That would be the worst overall Eagles draft in a LONG time.
Maybe redeem yourself by posting what you think will actually happen? I don't know. Could be too late.
I like Howard in thurr.
My mock (bc you asked :-*):
Trading down is all nice and good - doubt it will end up like this, but one can wish:
1b-23ish) Lawson SLB
2a-45) Moss WR
2b-55ish) McCargo/Wroten DT
3a-76) Hodge MLB
Would like thoughts on the possiblities:
1.) of this happening
2.) of our FO selecting these guys
3.) these guys being available when selected
I kind of like the Lawson idea. Reid seems to like letting the marquis players go, while focusing on their almost-as-good teammates. Mario Williams is nice, but Lawson might be a stud, too.
I can't see the Eagles drafting Lawson to play SAM LB. I honestly think he'd be a DE.
But I suppose anything's possible.
And while we're on the subject, here's mine:
#14 - Michael Huff
#45 - DeMeco Ryans
#76 - Darryl Tapp or John McCargo or Jeremy Trueblood or Maurice Stovall
Cocaine is a hell of a drug, I've heard.
1. sims
2. moss
3. trade up for wroten
1st - Ngata
2nd - Ryans
3rd - Stovall
1.) Trade down and pick Carpenter
2.) Stovall or Moss
3.) Wroten or Trueblood
u think carpenter is going below pick 14???

I might have seen 1 of the 100+ projections having him at 14 or higher. MAYBE.
wow. would of never guessed that. goes to show how much i keep up on draft and collge players. i'll shut up now.

He could be one of those tweener types who is technically a DE, but who drops back into coverage. JJ seems to like that type of combo.

According to OURLADS (http://www.ourlads.com/Sabo042106.html), the Eagles have no "pressing" needs.

Best 6-10 team in the history of football!
FWIW--article from the Sporting News of how they ranked our draft picks....wheeew
1) M. Patterson - started strong faded, came back, faded C+
2a) R. Brown - Led all rook rec. in catches, second in yards B
2b) M. Mcoy - Dressed for 4 games F
3) R. Moats - Showed speed but is raw C
4a) S. Considine - Injury ruined season C
4b) T. Herremans - Started 4 games looked OK, broke ankle C
5) T. Cole - Played 15 games with limited productivity C+
* S. Young D
* C. Armstrong C-
* K. Marshall D
* D. Bergeron F
By comparison heres what they gave some other rookies from last year.
Cowboys - D. Ware DE A-
M. Spears DT B
M. Barber RB A
C. Canty DE B+
J. Ratliff DE B- --7th rounder
Falcons - R. White WR A-
Ravens - M. Clayton WR B
Bengals - T. Perry WR B+ (6th rd. special teamer)
Chargers - S. Merriman OLB A
L. Castillo DE/DT A
D. Sproles RB B-
49ERS - F Gore RB B+
If Roddy White is an A-, then Reggie Brown is at least that.
If Frank Gore is a B+, then Moats is at least that.
A C+ for Trent Cole? Ha! Maybe if he was picked in the 1st or 2nd round.
Yeah, those are pretty arbitrary ratings. Not consistent at all.
that writer couldnt pick trent cole out of lineup with the backstreet boys
I like that Reggie can lead all WRs in receptions and yards and get a B grade.... but Marion Barber plays 13 games, gets 500 yards, less than 4 a carry for 5 TDs and he's a A. He was only a 4th round pick, it's late, but not that late...
My dream draft senario.
#1
1. Brodrick Bunkley, DT, FSU
2. Sinoress Moss, WR, Miami or M. Stovall, WR, Notre Dame
3. Taitusi (Deuce) Lutui, G, USC
I would like to see a Vetran Linbacker added in this senario before training camp.
#2
1. Winston Justice, OT, USC
2. Thomas Howard, LB, UTEP
3. Johnathan Lewis, DT, Virgina Tech
I think you could get a role player reciever with one of the 4th rounders in this one such as Michael Robinson, WR/RB/KR, PSU, Todd Watkins, WR, BYU, Greg Jennings, WR, Western Michigan (not sure if he hasnt risen into late 2nd/3rd round range though)
My dream scenario is
round 1) Chad Greenway
round 2) Gabe Watson
round 3) Jason Avant
Expecting Watson to be there when the Birds pick in the 2nd is probably a stretch though...

Holy barf.
So, you want them to get two guys who have all-but hit their ceiling (Greenway, Avant), and one guy who has pretty much the lowest floor in the draft? Yuck. Yuck.
I think Avant is a very natural receiver. I loved the way he did the drills at the combine... but he's not extremely physical, and he's downright slow for a WR.
Michigan is my team, but their WR's are cursed lately. draft with caution I say.

i hope the Eagles draft Greenway with their first pick for two reasons:
1. I think he's a player
2. I'd get to see FF and IGY bitch and moan more than usual till the season starts
if they trade down get extra picks and draft greenway i wont be happy at all but i wont kill them

I think Avant is a very natural receiver. I loved the way he did the drills at the combine... but he's not extremely physical, and he's downright slow for a WR.
First off, Avant is a 3rd rounder. If he had every physical tool to be a star he wouldn't be a 3rd. All guys at those positions are going to be projects.
I don't know where you get your evaluation of Greenway. He's the best coverage LB in the draft, he's quick(4.55 40 at his pro day), smart, has produced consistently in college and is a very good tackler. As he gets bigger in the NFL he's only going to improve.
As for Gabe Watson, he's the 2nd best option for the big 2 gap run stuffer. Ngata would be great in the 1st round... However, Watson would fill that need too. I don't know why you'd want another small, one gap, pass rusher like Patterson on that line. That's not what we need. We need a guy with the power or a Watson to compliment Patterson.
avant and watson are dogs
greenway is a second rounder who will struggle in the league

I guess we'll see about that. He's the 2nd best LB in this draft and may very well do more in his career than the undersized AJ Hawk from that awful pro LB college Ohio State.
Lets draft Bobby Carpenter and let Shockey, Witten, & Cooley eat him up for the next 5 years...
Lets also get Claude Wroten, so he can get pushed around in the running game next to Patterson...
Greenway & Watson may not be the sexiest names, but they fill the needs of this team.

I'm still trying to figure out why you aren't an NFL scout considering you know exactly what the future is with all of these guys.
Apparently, if you have a good college career but an amazing combine (like Bunkley) you're set to have a better NFL career than someone who had an excellent college career (Greenway) but didn't wow people at the combine.
cultural bias has kept him out of the league.

'88's are shtein. They're still speed density and not mass air.
Now if you had a '91GT we'd be talkin'.
while all of you are making out/shooting all over each other, Greenway will be busy knocking Dhani Jones out of the starting lineup on his way to having a hell of a rookie season.
I almost want Greenway because Hoge loves him, he of course would quickly change his mind and say how much Greenway sucked. But since Hoge likes him so much we can almost be rest assured that he will suck.
I've got Greenway going in the late 1st.
