Ok, the season starts tonight. Have some fun and display your expert picks on the rest of us. Also don't forget to pick the MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year, biggest bust and biggest break out player for 2006. We will bump this at the end of the year to see who picked right. And yes, I did pick the Philles.

2 wild cards in the NL huh? That might happen.
Also, how the hell does St Louis win a series between Atlanta and Frisco?

In December, I figured the Phils to be 75-80 wins. Today, I see the ring for them.
Why?
1. It's spring- that's what it is all about.
2. I see Myers fully taking on the ace role this year, and I LOVE Madsen being in the starting rotation (I really believe he should have been last year)
3. Howard-Utley-Rollins- a young core
4. Addition of Rowand- Love his fire and he just won it all. This team has never had that before.
5. Uncle Cholly may be just the right manager for this team.
6. Two words: Pat Gillick (and three more: NO ED WADE!). Gillick's won before, and isn't afraid to pull the trigger in the middle of the race.
I like the lineup and even the starting rotation (believing that Myers comes into his own). The only part that scares me is the bullpen- and not even as much as you'd think. I'm not sure if Gordon will remain the closer all season. but he'll be passable until Gillick can get something done.
kosher? ha. its literally impossible to even try to do it in college, let alone north philly. the only places around here are fried chicken joints and mcdonalds. plus, ive sworn off judiasm since 10th grade. but to baseball.

lots of love for a-rod so far.
for $25M a year...anything short of MVP would be considered a complete and total failure on a-rod-in-the-ass's part.

whew! for a second there, i thought you guys were actually getting smarter.
guess not. :-D
a player can be one of the best in their games, and still be a whiney bitch. it happens all the time.
yeah....a-rod is always whining about something. :paranoid
if anyone thinks Houston's going to be out of the top 3 in the division, you're smoking crack.
i dunno, they lost Clemens, and didn't add much in the way of offense.

clemens will probably be back after the all star break. Other than that:
- Oswalt
- Pettitte
- Backe
- Lidge
Berkman will be around the entire season.
The Cubs have Wood & Prior who are constantly on the DL. Their #1 & #2 pitchers right now are Carlos Zambrano and Glendon Rusch.
The Cards are going to be real good, Milwaukee may be a pest.
The Astros will be #1 or #2 in the division at the end of the season.

If I may ask a polite question, PhiilyPhreak54, what wine goes with armadillo?
Not to be snide, but I have been accused of being a refined, cultured, supposedly Oxford man at 700level.com, and now I can't even reach the site, either on Yahoo, or Google.
Ah, well. Big ups to Mullica Hill, New Jersey.
Erin Go Rah!
