Panthers land Keyshawn in $14M deal

Blah Blah Blah... Oh well at least the Eagles have Jabar Gaffney.
those are the kind of moves you make when trying to get over the hump and win a superbowl...may work out may not but at least they make an effort to win now cause they know they are in the hunt as opposed to worrying about having 20 mil in cap space in 09
PublicEnemy...you realize that there are two sticky threads for announcing FA signings, right?
Panthers just got better.
Yep.
Super Bowl winners.
Maybe SI will even put them on the cover and predict it (...again).
they need another running back though, they can't rely on Mr. Glass to get through a season
I have a feeling that they will draft one in the 1st. If Lendale White is there or Laurence Maroney, they'll go that route.
True. They've still got work to do. But WR is now set.
yup, with Steve Smith taking double coverage down the field, Keyshawn will eat up chunks of yardage underneath

And do you realize that I have about 27,200 less post then you? I will eventually discover everyforum on this site... Please cut me some slack. ;D
I'm just glad he's signed somewhere so we can focus on almost-as-unlikely fantasies of Eric Moulds.
I am hoping they bring back First Down Freddie... If we are aiming at mediocracy lets go for the gold.

thats what gaffney is
You might be right, but Gaffney has a little bit more size and isn't as much of a pain in the ass.

Two fine reasons to prefer Gaffney.
Great, Why is it that almost every team, even Arizona is making strides to get better, and we get, well we get Buck back!!!
And from all accounts Gaffney actually runs good routes. I seem to remember Freddie earning a nice reputation for running zesty/incorrect routes.

I think the Eagles have left some holes unfilled, sure. But this overblown exaggeration is retarded.

It's all about the Benjamin's baby. The Eagles took the "Ultimate Chance" 2 Years ago. Now we gotta wait till they feel like doing it again. Which means another year or three of evaluating what they have.
and isn't as much of a pain in the ass.
thats for sure...gaffney will provide a valuable service...40-50 catches with lots of them being for first downs.....and hell do it without being a self important idiot

Tru Dat
And he probably wont thank his hands or pat himself on the back every time he makes a great play.
I agree that Gaffney on the outside is not much of a threat, but I still think that if Reggie B. can step up slightly past where he was last year, that Gaffney will see a lot of work across the middle and on short/intermediate routes. The Eagles definitely could have done worse than adding Gaffney and Schobel. You know Donovan will look to the big guy in the middle of the field for the 6-7 yard gain more often than he probably should... but I'd rather have players on the team capable of making that play than Pinkston/Spach/Lewis trying to be the safety valve.
Let's just say I'm significantly more concerned with the blocking than any other part of the offense by far.
sweet, thank god we didn't spend all that money.

Really, compared to the other NFC Teams who picked up, Abraham (Atl), Edge (Arz), Owens, Vanderjagt (Dal), Meshawn (Car), Kitna, Bradford (Det), Taylor (Min), Brees (NO), Bryant (SF), Peterson (Sea), Glover & Witherspoon (St. Louis), Randall El (Was).
My main point is with the contenders putting key pieces onto their team to make that push at the ring. We have been the class of the NFC for years, and now the other teams are making a push to completely knock us off the perch, and I do not see the F.O. doing anything about it. Am i going a little overboard? I don't think so If we have 20 mil sitting in the bank it does us no good on the field except maybe to sign dorsey levens once buck gets hurt again.
so true....
pinky/TO------>gaffney
chad lewis--------->schobel
adams--------->barber
kalu----------->howard
howard is a significant upgrade but the others are treading water....meanwhile a lot of other teams are swimming by them
Haters.
