The Washington Post reports the taterskins are interested in former Eagles linebacker/special teamer Keith Adams.
From my impressions of him the past couple of years I would love for us to sign him. I think he's a good special teamer and solid backup LB.
What is everyone's take on him? Would he fit in with our defense?
TAKE HIM!

I'm with him. Don't care if he comes back one way or the other. He's a good special teams player, but subpar Linebacker. He has a great knack for being around a tackle after it's happened.

I guess that's all we're really looking for is depth at LB and talent on special teams. Did he start for Philly at all at LB?
very good special teams player, very poor LB when he started for the year. 0 sacks, 0 INT's, 0 forced fumbles, 0 fumbles recovered, 1 pass defended.
ST's help is always good. Hopefully if we do sign him then he will improve at LB as a backup.
Holdman didn't fill Arrington's void like we had hoped. He was solid but not impressive.

I thought he played well the year we went to the Superbowl. That proved to be a flash in the pan, though. He's a career backup and good special teams player. Guess you could say he 'started' for us, but that's not saying much since he rotated with Simoneau who is equally as worthless.
Jake, hes all yours.....if he does start somehow for your skins, then you know your team is in trouble.

Yeah I'd be shocked if he started for us.
We're at the stage of looking for reserves and role players.
So far we're targeting Sam Cowart, Adams, Jonathan Goodwin, and Jamar Fletcher.

Jake,
Above stats tell it all. :boo

While all those guys are backup material, Adams shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath with them. That is how much he Adams sucks at LB. Decent STer though.
hes not a good special teamer hes a great one and fort hat reason id like the eagles to keep him...i wont bash his linebacking skills cause everyone else already has but he sucks
True... he is a pretty damn good ST'er... but that's ALL you'd be getting.
No, no, NO! He's an upgrade from Lavar....... You'll be pleased with his efforts!!
Great ST player. The dude loses multiple contact lenses every game from busting up wedges.
Horrible LB. He had a good NFCCG last year against Vick but when he started this year he had nothing.
Easily worth a $5mil signing bonus in Snyderville. Maybe 8.
Is Adams a capable backup?
Is he fast and does he blitz well?

he played weak side and had no sacks, even though i didn't watch him every play, that tells me he's not a particularly good blitzer

Apparently, you missed Adams' blazing stat line.

yeah, and you can expand that 0 sacks for his entire career.
Adams is great, as long as he doesn't have to be on the field (aside from specials teams) for more than a play or two while your starters get rest.
I'm angry at myself for being fooled into thinking that Keith Adams was going to light it up as a starter.
i never thought hed light it up but i had a twinge of excitement about him
it was the bullet moniker that did it
nothing like a career special teamer having a nickname

Call me crazy, but for some reason the "bullet" thing suckered me in too. On top of him coming off a nice post-season in 2004... I figured he was ready to be a full-time, quality starter... at the same time keeping Simoneau off the field. Turns out he was at best... an extension of Simoneau.

Yep. Racist.

I"m glad Adams re-signed for just a year. We all know he's a stud special teamer, i'm not exactly sold on him being a long term starter. He did look good in the postseason last year, but i need to see a bit more.
Draft a young LB!
Needless to say, I didn't see a bit more.
Were you disappointed when they drafted an old LB?

I was disappointed they drafted a LB that didn't have the mental capacity to be better than the crappy guys keeping him off the field. That's ok, they'll draft Greenway and he'll rule.
If they draft Greenway*, I'm taking my name off the season ticket waiting list.
*in the first round

You know, crazy enough... I thought about typing that, but I don't want to link Simoneau to black people in any way. That one's all on the white folk.
He can't be white, he plays LB. He must be samoan or something.

that's exactly why i keep dropping his name... to see everyone cry. :-D
