O/U on Burgess sacks in that game?
It depends what side they line him up on.
Left: 1
Right: 2 (1 if Runyan is resigned)

The field there sucks too.
this is great news...now we get to see reggie go in and go to a game...i was hpoing and thinking it would be green bay or dallas but its a gonna be a great weekend
is that the first pre-season game? or last? or middle?
First.
5 preseason games may be a good thing considering the defensive front 7 and the OL need time together to gel. It will also be one more chance for Timmy Chang to prove he isn't worthy of an NFL roster.
Maybe we'll keep Koy and Mike around to throw them to the wolves. Sacrificial lambs for the beginning of the season.
Get them all nice and injured. :evil
thats just swell

Rome, I think you misspelled the word. You accidentally put an "M" where an "F" should be. You might want to correct that one! >:D

Yup, I now know how to utilize the "F" thanks to Hooked on Phonics!
Eagles and Raiders fans together in a small town like Canton. Should be fun.

It could be like that scene from Anchorman.
5 farging preseason games... bullshtein.
The starters need to get in, run the ball 2 times and get the farg out of there.
pretty cool getting HOF game this year, extra preseason game always helpstoo
Helps get players injured and missing regular season games, yeah.
What a bunch of crybabies y'all are. Cripes!! All it does is give them one more game to play the scrubs and get ready for the season. What is so wrong with that? Donovan doesn't have to play them all. I've never seen so many pansies crying about something like this before. Geez...why don't you cry about something that is actually bad.

You mean like crying about other people crying?
At least they don't have to go to Tokyo or some other foreign city to play.

Excuse me, jackass, if i don't want to be one of you Negadelphians.
Negadelphian or not....5 pre-season games = sucks.
More time for injuries.

On the bright side, this means training camp starts a week earlier than the other teams.

its not like they all play all 5 preseason games, guys. Come on.
The starters don't, no.
But depth players do. And the last thing we need is to lose depth. Remember 2003 when DL were dropping like flies? Even thought it was McDougle and Green it still impacted the team.

Nope...I'd like to though. I always wanted to go to Canton and Coperstown.
Another thing about that game -- that field is zesty.

I had a great time there when I went. Went in 1998 for the Steelers/Bucs game. Tommy McDonald was inducted that year and gave that amazing speech. It was a blast up there.

Phreak, I agree. Mentioned that earlier too.
4 or 5 preseason games dont matter. i've been a proponent of playing the regulars more in the preseason (to aleviate the crappy starts by getting more gametime in). i'm in favor of this.
i am not afraid of injuries. they'd still be practicing in full pads if they didnt play this game, so it's no difference. injuries will happen regardless of how many preseason games there are.
QuoteNFL announces preseason TV schedule; Eagles open with Raiders on Aug. 6 on NBC
COMPILED BY THE INQUIRER STAFF
The NFL today announced its preseason schedule, including specific dates and times for all nationally televised broadcasts.
The Eagles will be featured in two nationally televised games: NBC's return to football with the Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, Aug. 6, and an ESPN matchup against the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday, Aug. 25.
The remaining three preseason opponents have been set, although the dates and times will be finalized and announced at a later date.
The Eagles and Raiders will each play five preseason games opening up one week earlier than the rest of the league with the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. Among those being inducted that weekend are former Eagles defensive end Reggie White and former Raiders head coach John Madden. Madden will call the game, along with Al Michaels, for NBC.
Here is the Eagles' preseason schedule so far:
Aug. 6: Eagles vs. Oakland in Hall of Fame game, Canton Ohio, 8 p.m. (Channel 10).
Week of Aug. 10-14: Eagles vs. Cleveland.
Week of Aug. 17-21: Eagles at Baltimore.
Aug. 25: Eagles vs. Pittsburgh, 8 p.m. (ESPN).
Week of Aug. 31-Sept 2: Eagles at New York Jets.
each year we can count on the Eagles vs. Jets for some of the most boring football ever seen.
my boys got a guy who gives us a preseason game every year. good to see we dont have the last one at home (where no starters play and its reallllly boring).

I'm not sure about that. The whole story line of how Runyan almost ended up a Jet and how the Eagles ponied up to get him to stay should make it a riveting event. Also, I understand both teams will be wearing green, and players will be required to swap helmets during the game.

they dont con you...in fact they are pretty in your face about the whole thing...when the season ticket invoice comes the games are right there...you either pay for them or you lose your tickets
which is a con cause season ticket holders would rather not pay for preseason games
a con is tricking somebody to do something.
this is more along the lines of rape, forcing us (season ticketholders) to do something we don't want to do.
con, rape, murder. same word.
actually those are 3 words, while all negative in tone, that are completely different
