QuoteGarcia coming
Free-agent quarterback Jeff Garcia is scheduled to arrive in Philadelphia late today, and it wouldn't be surprising if he signed with the team by tomorrow. The Eagles want Garcia to replace Mike McMahon and Koy Detmer as the top backup to McNabb.
who is your source? ;D
gay!
Will the Eagles' free agency frenzy ever end?!?!?!?

If #5 stays healthy, i could give a shtein as to who the backup QB is.
So, do the Eagles take a QB with one of their 4th rounders, and have him, Timmy Chang, and Andy Hall compete for the #3 spot? Do we really think that if they sign Garcia, they WILL cut both McMahon and Koy?

Garcia isn't exactly the most durable guy, either. So, that OL better improve one way or another.

With this line and a non existent running game you can more or less count on McNabb being hurt at least once a year. A quality backup is 100% necessary.

MOSS AGENT BUSTED FOR CRACK POSSESSION
NFL agent Dante DiTrapano, whose one and only client is Raiders receiver Randy Moss, was arrested in St. Petersburg, Florida on Tuesday for possession of crack cocaine.
Both DiTrapano and his wife face the charges. Three other persons were arrested at the same time, and are charged with possession of crack cocaine and a variety of other offenses.
DiTrapano had rented three rooms at the St. Petersburg Hilton for a one-night stay. Per the police department's web site, he "created a disturbance at his room, prompting the management to call the police, and officers located the illegal drugs when they arrived at the rooms to investigate the call."
We don't know what the hell to make of this one. DiTrapano is a lawyer in Charleston, West Virginia, and we've spoken to him a couple of times in the past. A year ago, we told him that the Vikings were close to trading Moss to the Raiders, and he basically said we were nuts.
In hindsight, maybe he just thought we were on crack.

I'm glad to have Garcia on the team. Is he gay? Probably not, but maybe. More likely, he's an effeminate heterosexual who manages to get chicks like Carmela DeCesare with his incredible sensitivity. Do I care? Not really, as long as he gives the team a half-decent chance of winning a game if he actually has to play. He's probably just slightly better than McMahon and Detmer combined, but he's not good enough to have the moron fans calling for McNabb to be benched. Perfect skill level. Perfect experience in the league and in this offense. Fine. Need filled.

He should do a better job if needed than the schmucks you had though. I actually thought McMahon would be a serviceable backup for you. Oops. :paranoid

Do all of you have memories that max out at 4 minutes? This dude has been a pro-bowler. Has always been an efficient pro and one who was capable of creating plays. Hell he almost led that goddamned Browns to a win over the Eagles two years ago.

All I said was the guy has a shteinload of rushing touchdowns in his career. More than Donovan, in fact, in the same time period.
PS: I don't know if the diatribe above was directed at me but if it was, allow me to offer this bit of advise: Decaf. There are a lot of brands now that are just as tasty as the regular brew. Give it a shot, dude.

QuoteEagles | Detmer on the outs?
Thu, 16 Mar 2006 16:55:03 -0800
Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports with the Philadelphia Eagles signing QB Jeff Garcia, it could mean the end of backup QB Koy Detmer's tenure with the team.
No more neckbeard? I prefer keeping him over McMahon because 1) He's a damn good holder and 2) if we get to the point where McNabb and Garcia are injured the seasons already down the shteinter.

One of these things is not like the other. One of these things does not belong.

Koy's time here is done, let him have his dignity. His lack of QB skill now far ourweighs his ability to hold on FG's & it's time for some new blood. ;)
being just a holder is no reason to keep a job. besides, you keep detmer as a holder, garcia is basically deactivated.
schoeble is also a holder.
it's time for detmer to go
