It seems like a long time ago, doesn't it? We had almost a foot of snow on the ground and it was freeze your nuts off cold outside. Dumbasses were shoveling snow at The Linc without gloves on and we were all preparing for Attempt Number 4.
It was the longest day of my life. The kickoff time just wouldn't get here. The Super Bowl day was great and I wanted it to last all day because our team was on the grandest stage of them all and I loved the attention.
Finally they got going and the Eagles got the job done. Who remembers the Ike Reese comments after the game? Who remembers the sheer joy? Who remembers running out to the store early Monday to buy up as many copies of the Inky & DN that you could find?
Phil Sheridan brought up a good point today in his column and I'd like to bring it up here...
How many of you say, or hear someone else say, "I'd rather not even make the playoffs than have to deal with another NFCCG or SB loss"?
Well I would like to ask you if you are enjoying today while the Eagles are at home and two other teams are fighting for the NFC crown. So..are you? Or if you're not one of those who say that I'm sure you know someone who says it all the time and are for real about it. Go ask them how they feel today.
One year ago today this was our day. And this time next year will be our day once again.

Damn, you're right. Well said. Nobody in their right should want this over making the playoffs and losing. At least we could have some fun and make it.

i was thinking back to last year as well at times during this week. this week was the 1st time that i missed the Eagles being in the playoffs, Championship Week. the previous weeks hadn't really hit home until this week when all the attention was on 4 teams, and the Eagles being 1 of those 4 the past 4 years.
my lasting memory of last year will be after the game, sitting at my tailgate, under a canopy, propane heater roaring, chugging a bottle of champagne. not really believing that they were going to the Super Bowl.
I had the A/C running during the game. ;D
As soon as I woke this morning, I thought about how I was up at 6:00 am last year digging out my car & loading up with tailgating junk. My car made it 10 feet down the driveway & got stuck again, leading me to spend the next hour digging it out of a snow bank. I would have loved to do that again this year . :'(
Yeah... this morning is when it really, really hit me that they're gonna have the NFCCG without us. It doesn't even sound right.
It was a year ago... but seems like a week ago, when I was in a sports bar here in ATL hugging Moloko9 and every other Eagle fan in the place like they were Halle Berry who just said, "Let's go back to my place...". For a good 10 minutes after... all I could do is scream "SUPER BOOOOWL" at the top of my lungs... sitting there not quite believing that they were actually going to Jacksonville.
I gotta get that feeling back next year... and an even better feeling a week later.

Yeah It seems nuts that the Eagles are not in it this year. I would love to have seen them play this years play-off contenders (some really good teams in it this year). I would love to have had a second chance at the Panthers/Pampers as my son used to call them. Imagine haw good this game against the Seahags would have been.
Well anyway they'll be back and I'll be here the good Lord willin' and the crick do' rise.
We already saw what the Eagles from this year could do against the Seahawks.

I went to all 3 when I was out there and don't remember which one I went to that day but it was probably Pac Beach because I think that was the closest.
