Post by: DH on January 18, 2006, 10:38:25 PM
What are the best ones out there?

www.guitartabs.cc is what I use but I was looking for Tangerine, and it wasnt listed so I give up on that one.

Don't know if this is any help. I've found that tab sites are a real crap shoot. Tabs of dubious quality are passed around to all sites and in the end they are are mostly helpful for just lyrics and progressions. (using them in conjunction with playing to the recording)

Also, one tool that I've found real helpful to learn covers is this gizmo:

Any CD can be slowed to any speed without changing pitch. And with its A-B switch you can play riffs or passages repeatedly until you get the hang of it. You can then slowly speed it back up to original. Kinda pricey, but great to really nail riffs note for note if desired. (It also has passable effects too, like distortion, chorus, flanger, etc for when you play along)

As for the best tabs, sometimes I find it better to visit desired artist fan sites and track down an enthusiast who usually has access to better chart info than any commercial tab site...Kinda like how this site is the best for Eagles info and perspective over commercial or "official" offerings.

Hope this is of some help...

The Death Metal Palm Mute is the only thing that matters, Die Hard.  Learn it and love it.
