It was the first time in a while that I haven't had at least one drink. I feel groggy today and I've got a headache. I was also bored to tears last night.
I feel like these are good signs for my general health.
I drank one beer and only one beer last night. Because there was only one left in the house.
The only time I don't drink a beer is when I get home a little late and pass out on the couch. My wife calls me a drunk. I call her a bitch.

How lucky for the two of you.
Wait, you watched House of 1000 corpses AND didn't drink last night?!
What are you a masochist?

We have reached a happy median, thank you for your concern however. :flipoff
You keep a concrete barrier in your bed?

Yeah, my timing could have been better.
You've seen the lowest of the low. You should probably kill yourself now.
I reserve my drinking mostly for weekends. I usually try to make up for not drinking during the week by binging sometimes.
It just feels weird drinking during the week though unless there's reason* to.
*reason meaning, japanese food, meeting someone at a bar or party/celebration.
To lose weight im on a no beer during the weekdays.... only scotch during weekdays
You know, gram for gram, alcohol has way more calories than carbohydrates. You'd be better off with the beer.
i drank like 4-5 sam adams and had some johnnie black label w/ a cigar. The cigar was an Onyx if anyone knows anything about cigars. prob not since your all classless philly phans. '
now i must go drink a sam adams. this thread makes me want to drink.
I can't remember the last time I had less than two gin and tonics in a 24 hour span. By the same token, I can't recall the last time I had more than 5. Possibly 6.
This I call moderation.
I had a couple beers on New Year's Eve, and that was the first alcoholic beverage I had since September. I'm a big beer fan, but I seriously cut down as part of an overall health kick. I'm not much for moderation. Sounds like a great idea, but the implementation is tough for me.
We were going to go out for a few beers and some grub last night, but the places we frequent on Wednesdays were packed with toolboxes wanting to watch the Duke/NCSU game. So, the wife and I got some take-out Japanese, picked up an 18-pack of Bud Select cans, and watched "Cinderella Man".
Beer and a boxing movie = excellent combo

But dude - there are zero carbs! Yeah, you've got to burn more calories, but your fat-burning metabolism is using 20-50% more calories / day!
(Of course the carb-hound in me says mmmmm....Guinness - one of the lowest calorie non-lite beers available)
Yeah, yeah, OK Dr. Atkins. ;D
