Post by: 4and26 on January 13, 2006, 01:52:45 PM
Thoughts on these game spreads?  Chicago by 3.5  ::)

Home Team         Spread         Away Team
Seattle (13-3)         –8.5               Washington (11-6)
Denver (13-3)      –3.5           New England (11-6)
Indianapolis (14-2)   –9.5         Pittsburgh (12-5)
Chicago (11-5)        –3.5             Carolina (12-5)

Chicago gets three just for being at home.  So it's really just a .5 spread.

I'm not a betting man, but the spread on Washington Seattle seems high.

everybody's hot on Carolina after last week, but I love Chicago this week.  their defense is so dominant and their offense is infinitely better since Grossman has been back.  they dominated Carolina before, I don't see anything that would change this time.

I think NE will win or lose by no more than 3.  I actually think the rest of the spreads are about right.  Carolina's the "hot pick" because of how they mauled an Atlanta team with nothing to play for in the regular season finale and then a NYG team that went into the playoffs ice cold and injury-riddled.

If I had to bet on 4 teams against the spread, it'd be...

Seattle, NE, Pitt, Chicago
