QuotePhilly Gets Fitter On Annual List
UPDATED: 10:45 am EST January 6, 2006
Which is the fittest city of them all?
It's Charm City, Baltimore, the home of crab cakes, deep-fried trout, thick bread and beer.
Men's Fitness magazine is out with its admittedly unscientific ranking of urban fitness and it puts Baltimore at the top, partly because of its parks, health care and air quality. But it's also known as a place whose citizens like drinking, and greasy foods.
One Baltimorian, chowing down on fried food and beer, says she thinks it's probably "the most mis-fit city in America." Some other locals had the same response to the title of most-fit: "You gotta be kidding."
For the second year in a row, Honolulu ranks number two on the fit-cities list. Also in the top five fittest cities are Milwaukee, Virginia Beach and Tuscan. Last year's winner, Seattle, comes in eighth.
At the other end of the scale, the magazine rates Chicago as this year's fattest American city, followed by Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Dallas and Houston. Philadelphia is No. 23 on the list; last year it was rated No. Two.
LA is the third fattest?
:D :D
wow its amazing how philly got fitter when i moved out
How the hell is Boston not #1 on that list? Maybe this town is so fat that it isn't even included in the study.

Kind of like how UCLA and Penn State are no longer rated on lists of best party schools?
This isn't a "study," it's a PR gimmick for a magazine. Baltimore is the fittest? Yeah, sure.
Nothing to see here folks, move along move along...

Screw that. I'm what some people call ripped (chiseled, if you will).
Oh, and how the farg can Milwaukee be fit? Milwaukee and Chicago are essentially the same crowd. Is it the "more people" factor?

Bingo. "Admittedly unscientific" = Bullshtein.
They didn't count implants. Have they been cracking down on illegals again?
