While the official list of declared underclassmen will not be made available by the league until a few days after the Jan. 15 deadline, several players have made their intentions known, and others, including USC RB Reggie Bush, have been the subject of fairly well-informed speculation, meaning some things are beginning to take shape.
Much will change in the coming months, as players take part in postseason all-star games and individual workouts, as well as the scouting combine, but here is our initial first-round mock for the 2006 NFL draft:

I don't think Eagles will go WR. But then again I also think all mock drafts are wastes of time.
a WR would be moronic considering how bad the defense was this year.

I think Detroit will probably snatch up Holmes.
with Chad Greenway on the board, why would you take a WR?
i dont know why but id have no problem with holmes..as long as they shore up the lb's in fa
as far as mocks go holmes is automatically going to be the in pick for the birds simply because all anyone remembers about this season is the TO debacle...completely ignoring the other reasons for the reagles demise
If Millen took a WR, it would be the biggest FU to Detroit fans ever. I gotta admit that would be hilarious.

He's a white linebacker. They all suck. Just ask IGY.

chad greenway...ha!
they dont all suck but under no circumstances should you EVER take one in the first round...or even first day really...unless like aj hawk fell to the late second or something ridiculous like that
So you'd have passed on Ray Lewis and Urlacher like the Eagles did?

I was intrigued by Urlacher, but the Eagles needed a DT real bad.
i would have passed on urlacher...you know why?...cause WHITE LINEBACKERS SUCK...he was the exception not the rule
pass on Keith Brooking?

Overrated. Simoneau's better.
all of them...within reason...again if you want to take one on the second day or one drops way down and you cant pass on them fine...but otherwise dont do it
ps - brooking is mad overrated
pass on David Bergeron?
Dan Morgan?
Junior Seau, Derrick Thomas and Derrick Brooks shouldn't have been 1st rounders either... :P
Back to the original topic, if Mario Williams falls to #10 and we don't trade up, I'll throw a puppy or something...
Dick Butkus?
Some guy named Chuck?
I agree with Ed. But I'll throw two puppies and a kitten....
And even if they couldn't get to 10 to get Williams then they should be able to get Kiwanuka.
Jay Cutler at 9?!?!? No, sir.
And if Marcus Mcneill is on the board when the Eagles pick I bet they'd take him over Holmes.
I"m gonna guess Darnell Bing.
I'd be psyched if we took Elvis Dumervil.
Just cuz it's a sweet name and all...

none of them are white :-D
I think they've all got two first names though. Does that count?
You're fixated on this "two first names" thing.
22. *-Denver Broncos (10-6): Tamba Hali, DE, Penn State

taterskins fans- Isn't that a bitch. Hali is a great DE and that is what we need.
13. Baltimore Ravens (6-10): DeAngelo Williams, RB, Memphis
i don't see williams falling to 13. I think GB might pick him up at 5

I would rather any of the guys in bold be picked before a WR. Especially Posluszny (if he comes out), he's is going to be a beast, white or not. After the last few bowl games I can see alot of players (Vince Young, LenDale White, Michael Huff, etc) moving around in terms draft order the Eagles could wind up with some sweet looking defensive players falling to 14.
Mock drafts before the combine are idiotic. A workout warrior or 10 will leapfrog 60% of the names on this list and several of these players will fall to the 3rd or 4th round. Book it.

Pozluszny is certainly an unknown right now because of the knee injury he sustained in the Orange Bowl.
