Thats the word in Minn. So what do we do after losing not one but three coaches.
Wow. That would cause a lot of disruption for the Eagles, especially if JJ is entertaining offers. Something tells me that Childress will end up in Green Bay rather than Minnesota, however.
It would suck to lose Castillo. I guess after ten years, give or take, it's time for him to move on.
Some new blood would be a good thing for this bunch at this point.

get some new ideas and hopefully make the playoffs like the Pats did this year.
good players>>>assistant coaches
Good, healthy players > assisant coaches.
yeah those too
but seriously is anyone other than me not the least bit concerned with losing a special teams and offensive line coach
I'm only worried about Castillo. He seems to be one of the very few good position coaches we have. Sure, it took him years to get a suitable center in there, but every coach has his weaknesses.

More the special teams coach. He's young and IMO has done a really good job over the years.
There's something about consistancy in the coaching ranks that you can't put a value on but none the less is important.
good riddance.
If Castillo and Harbaugh go w/ Childress, is this to become OC and DC, or will it be lateral? If it's lateral, it begs the question: why are they more loyal to Childress than Reid?
It's the old devil you know vs. the devil you don't know question. Those guys are adequate and there's no guarantee you'll get an adequate guy stepping up in his place. Maybe they'd all be replaced by better coaches. Maybe they'd all be replaced with worse. I think it'll be a busy offseason for personnel changes, both on the field and off. Doesn't seem like it'll be like the previous few years when we were just plugging a couple key needs each offseason into an already functioning system. The good part about that is the team needs a lot of work. The bad part is the more changes you make the bigger the chance that at least one of them will be a disaster.

And can you say that this would have happened after last year?

I thought if you were under contract, you couldn't make a lateral move. Is that accurate?

Yes, BM, you're correct.

I'd be more worried if Andy Reid was leaving.
The offensive line and special teams unit weren't all that great this year anyway. Sure, most of it had to do with injuries and lousy backups, but still, coaching had to factor in there somewhere even in a small way.
These guys have been here for a long time. While continuity is usually a good thing, it's not always a good thing. Sometimes the pot needs to be stirred a bit just to keep everyone on their toes.
A 6-10 team record simply can't be tolerated under any circumstances and since you can't fire the players or the head coach, someone's gotta take the fall.
I can't find anything on it but somebody on the EMB from Minny said their local news is reporting Childress is taking the Vikings job. Skeptical because of the source but he's obviously a goner.
