Ali took a dive, IIRC. Not a shock that it was rigged, seeing as how Don King is right on the cover of the comic.

That's not Don King, that's Batman.

I hear Batman "borrowed" $500,000 and put it on Ali.

Yeah, you're right.  We were at a bar in Chapel Hill, and the video coverage missed McInnis' steal and tap in (too loud to hear the audio).  The whole bar stood there waiting for the third OT, when it came back from commercial as a final.  Course, by then the bonfires were already lit, and the student body was out on Franklin Street chanting "farg Dook". ;D

The seven period Flyers/Pens playoff game from 2000.

The one that Keith Primeau scored the game winner in the 5th OT?  That was an incredible game.  Stayed up and watched the whole thing till 3:30 am, got up at 5:30 am to go to work, and had an 8th grade field trip to Sea World that didn't get me home until 5:30 am Saturday morning. I basically had 2 hours of sleep over a 48 hour time period.

I was near halluncinating driving home, and it was probably top-10 most stupid things I have ever done, but that game was worth it.  :yay

That game WAS amazing...I fell asleep around 1:15 trying to watch the end, woke up about an hour and a half later with the TV still on, and it took me a few minutes to realize I wasn't watching a replay or highlights, that it was still going on. Woke the wife up when the Flyers finally scored.

That is probably my fourth favorite game, ever.

i would give a nod to that one too. i lived in pittsburgh at the time, and didnt see the regulation part of the game. i left pitt that evening listening to the first 5 minutes while i still had the pitt radio feed...then when i got into the philly area, the game just enterered the 2nd overtime. i was moving back to the area and had an 8am job interview the next day. i had no sleep, and neither did my future boss at the time.

I watched regulation and the first OT of that game at the Sports Cafe in state college (Flyers/Pens playoffs games in state college are a blast, everyone screaming and fighting each other, drunk idiots throwing punches, good times). I think it was a sunday night and they kept the bar open about an hour late for the game. When the bar closed I walked this chick I was 'friendly with' back to her place 'watched' some of the OT and then SPRINTED about 2 miles home to catch the end. I lost my shtein when Primeau nailed that shot. Good night.

Definitely Thursday.  My school/ Sea World trip is always after school on Fridays.  We get back from Orlando around 3:30 or so in the morning, and I had to wait until every student was picked up.  By the time I got home, it was 5:30 AM, and I swore those shadows were moving as I was driving home.  :crazy

Really? I could have sworn that the Sports Cafe was closing early and stayed open jsut for the game and I think the only night they did that was Sunday, but you know what? That was six years ago and I was drunk so I'll just go back to staring at the badonkadonk in your avatar now.
